NYX Cosmetics launched in 1999, named after Nyx, the ancient Greek goddess of the night, symbolizing power, beauty, and strength. Their goal was to bridge the gap between high-end prestige cosmetics and budget-friendly alternatives. They wanted to embody vibrant self-expression and viral trendsettin...g, which they felt was lacking in the cosmetics department amidst a sea of neutral colors. I wanted to see if 27 years later they still lived up to these goals, and as you'll see, I was not disappointed. I've been trying out the newest launch from NYX called FAT OIL LIP & BODY KIT CARAMELT MAMI. This is NYX's first-ever official foray into body care, and they classify these products as hybrid body care with a cosmetic finish. Stepping into this new product category in such a bold way shows that NYX is still the same brand that pushes boundaries and elevates products beyond what we are used to, and as I will go into, they have done this masterfully. Each product smells amazing as it's scented with rich caramel and creamy pistachio. It leaves me feeling sexy and sparkly after I've applied all three. The Body Butter is airy and whipped, which makes it easy to apply as well as very moisturizing. It leaves behind just the right amount of bronze shimmer, giving me a bit of glowy color that my skin desperately needs without being greasy. The shimmer oil has similar results, but it has two distinct features that the body butter doesn't, making it perfect for a night out at the club or to impress at the pool. The shimmer oil delivers an even stronger high-shine "glass-skin" finish that will turn heads due to the fact that the oil is able to deliver the shimmer in a way that a butter cannot, due to their difference in consistency. Lastly, and this goes along with the first extra benefit, it also enhances and deepens the bronze shimmer. Now, after playing with these products for weeks, the ultimate combination if you want to maximize both benefits is to layer them by applying the body butter first to lock in deep moisture, and then top it with the oil on your collarbones, shoulders, and legs for maximum sparkle. Trust me when I say that you will stop people dead in their tracks when they see you looking like that. Now for the final touch, which is the Caramelt Mami Fat Oil Lip Drip. It's so good that I use it on its own all day long, but it also adds a little something extra once you have the body butter and oil on. It has the high-gloss shine of a lip gloss with the 12-hour hydration of a lip treatment. I don't have to reapply it 50 times a day because it's the gift that keeps on giving with its deep hydration properties. It isn't heavy or sticky, and it leaves my lips feeling soft, comfortable, and gives the perfect amount of plump. All of that, paired with the sunkissed bronze shimmer that beautifully matches the other products, makes it one of a kind. All three of these products have quickly become staples in my routine, and I will always go back to them, especially in summer!
