I feel bad because I guess I am going to be the one to go against all the glowing reviews. I brought this last night and unfortunately, it didn't work for me. The good: The jar is full to the brim with product. There is no worrying about paying too much for a half full jar here. I brought sweet... mint and the tingle feels so good and refreshing on my lips. It is very gritty. A little is all you need and I think the jar will last a long time even with daily use. The bad: It is very gritty - too gritty. One might think that is a good thing especially when dealing with flakiness on the lips, but it is gritty to the point of being dry, and, yes, I warmed it up between my fingers before using and it still did not produce much oil. I don't know where the oils are? Did the oils settle to the bottom of the jar? Because there is no slip, the grittiness did not do anything to brush off the flakes on my lips and my lips did not feel moisturized in the process and if anything, the deep lines and wrinkles around my lips were more pronounced. Maybe someone who has normal lips can get away with using this product for exfoliating but for my very dry 40 something year old lips, I need something with more moisturizers - it honestly did not take off much of the flakes and my lips still feel dry despite using a moisturizing lip product after using this one. Also, because it is dry some of the sugar in the product hardened on top. The jar is full to the brim with product. Again, one might think that is a good thing, but if the oils have settled to the bottom there is no way to mix it up without wasting product so you can get at those oils. You will have to use a lot of the dry top of the product before you can get to that moisturizing goodness. Either way it feels like you waste product. Unfortunately, this is a no for me and I think I will have to return this product to the store because I don't want to go through half the bottle to maybe find the oil. I would recommend this product to someone who has normal lips who likes to exfoliate them before putting on lipstick. My search for the perfect exfoliator continues.
