What is this supposed to smell like? I'm obsessed with Murad products, so I decided to buy this toner. The reviews say it smells great and citrus like. Mine smells like chemicals, almost like I'm putting whiskey on my face. It gave me an immediate headache. Did I get an expired bottle maybe? I intend on shipping back if this is not normal?
- Asked by Tanya
- Official Answer By Murad - Sampling + BEThat is not normal. It should be a light citrus. Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
If I use this with the other products in this line (cleanser, serum, moisturizer), in what order would I use this toner? What is the recommended process?
- Asked by Kay
- Official Answer By Murad - Sampling + BEOne you cleanse your skin and pat dry, you then would apply the toner and allow it to absorb. Follow with your treatment and moisturizer. Was this answer helpful to you

I currently have this as a spray but cannot find it now. Are you replacing the spray with a cotton ball option?
- Asked by Robin
- Official Answer By Murad - Sampling + BEWe did change our packaging to 100% recyclable materials so the pump is no longer on the bottle. Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
What is the difference between Essential-C toner and the Hydrating toner?
- Asked by Jan
- Official Answer By Murad - Sampling + BEThe Hydrating Toner helps to rebalance and hydrate the skin while using peach, chamomile and cucumber extracts to calm and soothe. Lecithin aids in hydration and also the protection of the individual cells. A powerful blends of vitamins C, E and grapeseed extract protect the skin from free radical damage. The Essential C Toner contains alanine, proline and lysine along with other amino acids help to condition the skin while restoring balance and fighting free radical damage. Skin is soothed with bitter orange and coneflower extract and sodium PCA, a natural skin moisturizer, helps prevent dehydration. Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
What is the percentage of Vitamin C in your Vitamin C toner?
- Asked by Kathy
- Official Answer By Murad - Sampling + BEFirst let me start by stating that we disclose the percentage of an ingredient only when it is an “active ingredient” in other words, an OTC (over-the-counter), FDA (Food & Drug Administration) approved ingredient. Here at Murad, as part of our Corporate policy, we do not disclose percentages in our high performance formulations as this information is considered proprietary. What I can share with you is that Dr. Murad creates formulas based on a result not a percentage. Our products are designed to treat a specific concern within the skin, keeping in mind our Whole-Person Health approach. Was this answer helpful to you

Nice smell!
This item has a nice refreshing smell that disappears after it dries. I have oily skin with a few fines lines and uneven skin tone. I was not sure if I should try this product or the clarfying toner but I am glad I picked this one. It has made my skin softer, I also feel this product is gentle but e...

I'm not blown away by this toner. I got it because it's alcohol-free, but the spray top is really annoying. I usually put toners on a cotton ball, which is better for wiping away impurities, and this just kind of sits on the skin. Either that, or I spray it onto a cotton ball, and it wastes some of ...

Waste of Money!

A friend recommended this product. I did absolutely NOTHING for my skin. In fact, after I started using it, I began developing milia around my eyes and nose area. In addition, Ulta refused to accept my return without a receipt, even though I charged it on my Ulta credit card (they claimed there was no way to look up the purchase). I ended up finding the receipt, however I was just over the 90 day purchase (between work and kids, I don't make alot of shopping trips). Ulta refused to refund the purchase price to my Ulta card even WITH the receipt. I was only given half a refund on an Ulta gift card.
I like this product.

I am both satisfied and surprise how well the Murad products work. I start mydaily facial routine with the 1. Age Reform Exfoliating Cleaner; 2. Environmental Shield Essential-C Toner; 3. Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightering Serum in (day time only) and 4.Essential C Day Moisturizer. Then twice a week I use Murad Intensive C Radiance Peel. I notice that over the past two months after using the Murad line my skin is beginning to change. My skin pigment is more even and the dark spots are fading.

I bought this toner after they used it on me for a facial and I haven't looked back since. The smell is amazing and it makes my skin feel really soft. My only complaint is the packaging, I don't like that it is a spray.
Broke my skin out

With-in a week I began to see and feel cystic bumps on my face I hadn't seen in years. The first 2 days felt great and it was promising that my discoloration would be going away soon, I felt super clean and smooth. Maybe it will work better for people without sensitive skin

I'm not blown away by this toner. I got it because it's alcohol-free, but the spray top is really annoying. I usually put toners on a cotton ball, which is better for wiping away impurities, and this just kind of sits on the skin. Either that, or I spray it onto a cotton ball, and it wastes some of the product. I have very sensitive, acne-prone skin, and this toner doesn't make me break out. My breakouts have actually been improving since using this toner, but I'm also using a bunch of other new products, so I can't really tell if this is what's doing it. It definitely balances skin better than no toner though, and I like that it has Vitamin C in it, since I need many products to help fade my post-acne marks and am conscious of environmental/sun damage. I think after I finish the bottle, I'm going to go looking for a new toner, preferably something that is alcohol-free and has Vitamin C in it. I'm still deciding for sure though.
