Gorgeous color, bur major fallout
The Lunar Violet is such a gorgous, rich color. The sparkle is more frost than glitter, and reminds me of lipstick from the 80's (which i dont think is a bad thing). But there is so much glitter fallout that I found it distributed around my face like a beard all day, and it felt chunky - not finely milled. I expect better from MAC.

Those that are heavy on the sparkle are really pretty. I bought every shade except the clear one, and "chandelier" is BY FAR my favorite. If MAC keeps making it, I'll keep wearing it until I die. I will be keeping that one and a couple of others (mauve matter {sooo sparkly}, red halo {don't expect true red; it's a berry shade, but gorgeous}, and candy yum yummy {yep, a super sparkly version of the OG}). The others are not for me (moon rocket, lightning bug, and spaced out {all rather underwhelming}, and gem stone, cosmic plum, and grapeful {I looked like a corpsicle in all of those shades as a pale, warm, olive person}). Anyway, it's sort of a weird product. It has neither the longevity, nor the coverage of MAC's lipsticks. It does not have the shine of a gloss. And it does not moisturize or condition like a true balm. It bleeds and gathers into lip lines almost immediately, and the coverage is patchy. I do like that it's a twist up crayon and quite glittery. But it's not my favorite lip product from MAC, that's for sure.

Sparkle sparkle I received this product for free from MAC for testing and review purposes and wow, so impressed by this lip crayon, it goes on smooth and application is easy and it lasts. It feels comfortable in the lips does not feel drying and the shining shows through so well it even has a very pleasant smell and makes me feel like the lips are extra kissable. I feel this is best for events or late nights, but it can also be settled enough to mix with another color for a more casual vibe
