I got the Powder Play, but I just couldn't get the hang of it. I sprayed too much, too little, made a mess. So I decided to change it for this version of the thing. MUCH better. For me it does work with the same principle as the powder, but this is so much easier to handle. My advice is not to use a big glob right away. Start with very little until you know the amount you need. Don't get it wrong. It DOES give you grit, hold and texture. But somehow it works much better than the powder and it does not leave your hair dull and matte, or feel like you rubbed dry cement in it. I finish with a quick spray of OGX Beeswax Texture Hair Spray Wax and I have nice, piecey, shiny hair. Just remember. Start with very little till you know how much you need (that goes for the spray, too).
Product cannot be removed from tube for use. (see photo) There is a hard plastic insert in top of tube at the opening which prevents product from coming out. The plastic cannot be pulled out, and you cannot "twist" the cap off to get to the product. Tried to use a drill to open top, or remove plastic, but it is a very thick piece of plastic which must be lodged deeply in the top of the cap/tube.
I will definitely be returning this to the store for a refund. Very disappointed since the Ulta store I was at is 50 miles from where I live.

I use this daily (large pea-sized amount), mostly concentrated in the front of my hair, then rubbed through to the back. Gives great texture, body and manageability to my fine hair and seems to thicken it as well. You definitely want to use sparingly, as too much gives your hair a rough and dry feel. It works really well for me.

So disappointed going to return

I love Big and Sexy products, especially the powder. I thought this would be a great product since it combines the powder and texturizing cream, but that is not the case. It does provide nearly the hold or volume like the straight powder. My hair looses volume halfway through the morning and the combination makes your hair feel gritty. Since I spent about $20 on the product, I will use it until it's gone and then go back to the powder only.

I was leery to try this product! Most products are a waste of money, they do not live up to how they are advertised! This product is excellent! Best product I have used in a long time! Don't discontinue it!!!

I'm a guy growing out my hair. It's long on top with an undercut currently. This stuff works great to give lots of volume and texture. Start with a small amount and work between fingers until it almost completely disappears. Start at the roots and pull straight up to the ends. Also works great to freshen up my style later in the day or next day. Highly recommend!

Works really well ... careful to not use too much!

This product is great when used sparingly, otherwise it can weigh hair down. I apply it to my hair while it's damp (towel dried). I put an amount in the palm of my hand about the size of a pencil eraser and then I ADD water into the palm of my hand as well and rub it all together and run it through my hair. Then I blow dry and style as usual and it works great for me when used this way. It adds volume and grip to my hair without weighing it down.

I love the way it gives my hair body and the ability to stay all day!

I really wanted to love this product. I can't tell if I'm using to much, not enough. Did I rub product between my hands to long or not long enough. I'm still trying to figure out how to use.

I have been looking for a cream that would add texture to my super fine hair, to use on damp hair before blowing dry. I finally found it! A tiny, tiny bit goes a long way, giving lots of texture and hold. Combined with my styling cream that separates and defines, I can move my hair how I want. Throughout the day if my hair is mussed by the wind, I can easily finger style and put it back how I want. The actual powder was not easy to use in my opinion, while this is easy to spread throughout damp hair and give lots of texture.

Weighted my hair down and felt like I just put wax on it. It made my hair dull looking Horrible!

Doesn't work as well as the sexy powder

I recently cut my hair short and wanted a product that added volume and texture. This product left my hair feeling like a handful of straw, and i couldn't run my fingers through my hair without it getting tangled and knotted. Terrible product.

My hair dresser uses Powder Play on my super fine hair. But I always feel like my hair is kind of greasy later. Then one day she switched it up and used the cream to Powder Play and I was sold!! It makes my thin hair appear thicker and gives it volume!! And the best part, it never feels greasy!! I use it every day now!

Gives my hair more fullness and body

Trying to get in the habit of writing reviews for things I like so they sell more and stop getting discontinued! This product is excellent, does exactly what it says - even helps my VERY fine, thin hair look normal. It also helps hold a curl with its slightly gritty texture.
DO be aware of this grittiness; I don't see it as a bad thing, but some do. Hair is still very touchable and soft even with it.

I had used the powder but this is much better. The fullness lasts all day, not sticky

Doesnt do much except for make the ends fuzzy/frizzy. Super disappointed. Not sure how it's considered powder play creme. Nothing like powder play.

Gives my hair the boost I want. Easier than powder.

It was not what I was looking for. Asked a molding paste; this made my hair wet causing style to "flip" up.

Start with small amount, a little goes a long way.

I put this on after blow drying my hair, placing it at the roots and beyond.

Works great to give my short hair lift. Damp hands rejuvenated the lift
