One use and I'm obsessed
I've been gradually transitioning all my toiletries to plastic-free. I was very skeptical of trying a shampoo bar though because of my hair type (thick, fine, and curly). Washing my hair with traditional liquid shampoo had always felt like such a chore because there was lots of rinsing and repeating involved to get the shampoo worked into my scalp. This shampoo bar totally exceeded my expectations though and actually cleaned my hair more efficiently and thoroughly than liquid shampoo ever had. I used the "painting" technique to apply the shampoo to my hair, and it was so much more effortless than I was expecting. Once it was on my hair, it was very easy to work into my scalp. No repeating necessary! I also used the castor oil conditioner bar using the same painting technique. I was genuinely floored by how soft, shiny, and clean my hair turned out after styling. I'm 40 years old, and for the first time in my life I'm actually looking forward to washing my hair!
My First Shampoo Bar and I'm Convinced
Hair Type Wavy Hair
I have long, color treated (highlighted) hair. I moved about 6 months ago and went from very soft water to fairly hard water, and my hair became very dry and brittle with build up I can't wash out. My sister is a stylist so I've always had access to very high-end, natural products and masks, but they weren't working. This is only my first week using this bar, so I will have to do an update with long-term results, but I'm impressed so far. It's easy to lather and my hair finally feels squeaky clean when wet. I did use a high-end mask that I use twice weekly the first time I used this bar, but my hair is soft and fairly smooth even without straightening, has volume, and was washed free of build-up without being stripped. I had trouble deciding which one to try but I think this is a winner if your hair is fragile from processing and you want to get it very clean without drying it out, but also don't want to sacrifice volume. I have a lot of hair but it's very fine and moisturizing shampoos usually leave it limp, which this didn't do. The scent is pleasant and soft in the shower, but doesn't linger or leave a smell when it's dry, so that's a bonus if you're sensitive. Overall, impressed so far.

I still didn't use the caster oil shampoo, but I'm sure it will be as good as The Rice water shampoo. That shampoo changed my hair condition, it became thicker, stronger and less dandruff. I'm really glad I found Kitsch, the only products that made improvement to my hair
