I thought I liked it at first
I'm 53 & married to my moisturizer. I do serum, lotion, then primer (& eye cream of course). I use Clarins for all my daytime moisturizing needs. Im fair-light & neutral leaning warm (NC15 in MAC). So I tried this Monika Blunder foundation and it takes me a long time to get it applied and buffed in with a good dense kabuki type brush. I mean a long time. So i rarely reach for it bc im usually running late. I like to grab Tarte BB Priming foundation bc you can slap it on and it knows what to do. But this foundation has to be told, trained, led, corrected, and told again. Then, 2 hours into my work shift i swear it needs to be buffed again! I use Laura Gellar powder over it. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? I saw all the good reviews and was so excited to try it. I told myself it must be good. It must just be me. So i kept it. But i never use it. I don't have time to buff it for half an hour and then buff it out again at work. It's a little heavy too. It sits right in the lines at the top of my nose. I gave it three stars bc I was feeling generous.
Lovely Foundation
For reference, I am 49, natural face, fair skin, combo to dry, with rosacea hence my love of foundation! I am MAC N4.5 or NC15, Loreal True Match N2, EL Ecru and I got the Blunder in shade 2.25. I think it is a lovely medium coverage natural finish foundation, A little goes a long way and it blends well. It lasts all day, even on my nose. I like the ingredients and I enjoy jar foundations. This is a good one.
Favorite foundation
I have been trying to find a foundation for years that covers the red in my skin but doesnt feel heavy or get cakey. I'm between fair and light and a lot of foundation is either too light, too dark or the tone is off for my skin. The 2.25 is perfect for me. I use a short dense brush and it covers well and not heavy. I'm finally done searching for the perfect foundation for me.
Mature skin friendly
I'm 51 years old with dry eczema prone skin. This foundation provides adjustable coverage with minimal product. It buffs on smoothly with a brush. The finish is skin like and doesn't cling to dry patches. It works very well as an under eye concealer. I have worn it both set with Huda loose powder for a natural finish and unset on its own for a more radiant finish. It lasts all day without looking cakes. Very happy with this product and I would highly reccomend trying it.
Gorgeous
Ive used every high end foundation there is and my biggest issue is usually finding a shade match light medium neutral olive (i need a little more gray than yellow if that makes sense). I got shade 4.25 because it was on sale and ive always wanted to try this but without being able to swatch I was hesitant and theres always new foundations that sound exciting. This is the most gorgeous, natural, no makeup makeup ive ever used. Your skin just looks flawless in it. Its not matte, its not dewy, its just natural. The 4.25 is a little yellow for me bit i loved it so much i just ordered 3 more (1 for my sister) to customize a shade and it blends so seamlessly that the shade isnt a huge deal (i think all the shades will be pretty flexible).
