Most Helpful Positive Review Best Powder Foundation
I love this powder foundation! I wanted to scale down my makeup routine in the mornings so I was looking for a quick and easy powder foundation. Prior to this I was using Revlon Colorstay liquid foundation for oily/combo skin (which I loved) in the color buff. I'm very pale, but can't do ivory foundations that lean on the pink side.
First I tried Bare Minerals - the lightest shade was too dark and I noticed tiny little bumps all round my mouth and chin area after using. The packaging was really messy and inconvenient and I spent a fortune on trying it with different brushes. Then I tried It Cosmetics Celebration Illumination which looked nice at first, but was more cakey looking after a few hours of wear when you try to build up the coverage - and the tiny bumps came back again. Both of these were very pricey and not worth the money to me.
Then I found the JCat Aquasurance from watching Tati on Youtube and her video was not lying. I'm in love with it. The shade Ivory fits perfectly for me - not too pink or yellow. It applies perfectly with the dry sponge that comes with the package. I tried using a brush because that's the best way to use the *other* powder foundations, but it goes on best with the dry sponge it comes with. Finally the convenience I was looking for. Its so quick and easy I apply it in the parking lot before I go into work. You can build up coverage with the dry sponge as well. No breakouts and my skin feels so baby soft! I use a good moisturizer over night so there are no dry patches on my skin so I can't say if it sticks to dry patches or not. Its semi-full coverage so I'd say it MOSTLY covers blemishes, but not 100%. I do have to re-apply around my mouth area after a meal, but its so quick and easy I don't mind it. I haven't tried it with a setting spray, maybe that'll help it last longer and give it more coverage. I don't use primers. Others must agree with me because I'm trying to re-order and its sold-out!
Most Helpful Critical Review Doesn't work for me.
This foundation is a weird one for me. Firstly. I guess I purchased the wrong shade because even though "porcelain" looks like the right color in the compact, it just looks stark white when I apply it. And I have pasty white skin that is normally the lightest or second lightest shade in most foundations, so this one is REALLY white. I considered exchanging for a different color, but after trying this powder a few times I can tell the texture and coverage aren't right for me either.
Notes: I don't use primer and I don't think a foundation is any good if it requires primer to work. I apply this over my moisturizer and sunscreen and have tried it with various different sunscreens to the same end.
Aquasurance Compact Foundation definitely DOES offer the potential for full coverage if that's what you want. When applied wet with the included sponge, or layered with a dense powder brush, it really can cover everything. A lighter dusting will give light-to-moderate coverage, so it's a versatile product.
No fragrance and nothing else that usually irritates my highly reactive skin.
Works sort of well as a finishing powder with a couple of sub-par liquid foundations I am trying to use up.
The finish is very makeup-y. From a distance, or in certain photo situations, it looks really nice, but in a very "I'm super made-up today! Look at my pretty makeup!" kind of way. I prefer my foundation to give the impression that I have very nice skin, rather than that I am wearing a lot of product. And up close, this stuff just looks caked and powdery and dry. No good.
It stays powdery and dry looking no matter how long it's on. I have extremely oily skin and often wear powder foundations. Usually, they look powdery when first applied, but blend with my natural oils within an hour or so and get more and more natural and dewy looking as the day wears on. I like that. Aquasurance doesn't do that. If anything, it looks MORE powdery at the end of the day. It's like each individual pore on my face has a noticeable speck of white powder in it that can be seen from a normal speaking distance. My fiancé pointed out that I looked powdery and dry about 7 hours into wear yesterday and he never notices that stuff.
It accentuates every flake and hair. On the plus side, I now know that the skin around my nose and on my upper cheekbones needs some extra moisturizer. And I guess I need to groom the peach fuzz a little better. It's been a LONG time since I used a powder product that clings to these things as badly as this one. I can't even imagine how it might perform on truly dry skin, since as mentioned, my skin is very oily but even I look ultra-dehydrated when I use this powder.
2.5 stars, rounded down. This foundation would be good for someone who wants full coverage in a powder form for the purpose of posting photos online or making videos in perfect lighting... as long as you don't care what it looks like in real life. I will probably try to use it up experimenting with making my other foundation fails work, or for preventing my sunscreen from sliding of my face on hikes.

This foundation is awesome. It has great coverage but also feels light on your face. It manages to keep my oily skin from getting a shiny for hours. Also, I love that when I reapply this, it doesn't get cakey. This is my favorite powder/foundation and I definitely recommend.
Smooth powder foundation
Jay from Southern CA
Really smooth once it settles. Will need a little finishing spray to give it a less powdery finish .
Hanna from Pennsylvania
Adds extra coverage without looking cakey and lasts all day. This will be my second time purchasing this powder. I really enjoy it.
Obsessed with this powder!
Sb s from Baltimore
Covers really beautifully, reacts great to water spritz, affordable, no complaints except because it's Color? Options are somewhat limited and it's full coverage it's not going to work for everyone

What a beautiful powder foundation. I use it as a setting powder it provides extra coverage without looking cakey. Didn't think I would love this powder that much but this is close to my favorite MUF pow Eder foundation! I have dry a skin , fair Asian yellow under tone. The shade light is perfect!
Never thought I'd love a powder foundation
Angela from Arizona
I love this stuff. On me, it doesn't look heavy or cakey. To be fair, I only apply a light layer with a fluffy powder brush, but I find that it provides enough coverage even with just that light layer.
It's just ok

First: this is not a full coverage product. I'd say it can be built up to high-medium. Second: if you are oily or even considered "normal", this will look greasy by the end of the day. In my experience, when I try to mattify the makeup with powder, it winds up looking cakey and blotchy. I think if you are only expecting to wear makeup for a few hours, this would be a good option. However, it just doesn't cut it for all day wear. Also, I received this product in the last week of August, and I've already hit pan today, 9/17. I'd say skip it.
My holy grail face powder

This works amazing as an amazing setting powder for the face. I use this to set my whole face, except not under the eyes. It looks very smooth and leaves my dry skin looking very hydrated.
Natural makeup kind of day
Wynne from Yonkers
This has been a great foundation for the summer. It's a light or medium coverage so you can still see some pores or spots. Not long wearing but I enjoy wearing it for a natural day and don't want to wear anything heavy. Definitely wear a hydrating primer underneath.
BEST POWDER FOUNDATION
J9 from Sahuarita, Arizona
I love this compact foundation for days I just want a quick foundation application. I would say the coverage is medium. I goes on smooth and if applied in all directions, it hides my pores very well. I use one shade all around my face, then I use a lighter shade under my eyes and other places to highlight my face. It lasts all day and actually looks better throughout the day. I do not use this foundation if my skin is really dry and I don't recommend for anyone with really dry skin. Be sure to moisturize well before application and allow for moisturizer to sink into the skin first. It does oxidize a bit. I absolutely love this stuff and have plenty of extras so I never run out.

This product is not good. It does not have any coverage by itself and is useless as a setting powder. I've used this powder with many different types of foundations: liquid, cream, serum and tinted moisturizer. Everything looks OK at first, but after about half an hour, the makeup starts separating. If I touch my face, the makeup slides all over the place.
It's a no from me.
Great lower end powder foundation!
Rubae from Houston, TX
Love this powered for everyday use. I wear something a little more full coverage when I go out but this powder is great nonetheless. It's buildable, medium to full. It might even be sheer if you don't use a lot. Stays on your face with the normal face touches one does throughout the day. Looks better as time goes by due to the powder being melted by your natural face oils. I honestly think it's great for the price. Doesn't feel like anything!
Great for foundation sliding!
Miranda from Dallas
So I use this as a touch up in my purse. No matter what I do foundation always moves and slides on my nose if I am sweating or greasy so this adds that coverage back! Love this product
I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!!

Amazing Powder Foundation
Brina from Apple Valley, MN
This powder foundation is great. It applies effortlessly, and doesn't make my skin look dry. I can wear this alone with a dewy setting spray for a more natural finish, and I also wear a light dusting over liquid foundation, and it doesn't make my makeup look heavy or cakey. This also goes great with tinted hydrates/moisturizers.
AT LAST! A COLOR MATCH
The Chemist from Oregon
I finally found a pale enough powder shade that matches my skin tone while not causing acne breakouts. I highly recommend. Applies well and buildable. Lasts a solid 8+ hours when used in combo with a finishing spray.
I plan to rebuy soon!

Overrated and shades suck
Mel from NC
Everyone raves about this, and as an oily skinned girl, I figured I would try it. I bought a couple of different shades, but they all look like a shade of orange. Wear wasn't horrible, but can't rate it well because I don't even have a shade match.
shay89 from Knoxville
This is the best powder foundation I've ever used in my life! Please don't discontinue this ever! I've bought three of these since December and I'm obsessed! I can't speak on how it performs by itself on the skin. I've only used it on top of liquid foundation, but talk about flawless finish! The coverage is high for me and so soft and creamy. My makeup lasts a good 8 hours before I start creasing. I've even tried 40 dollar powder foundations and they don't even compare. For reference I'm 32, my skin is dry and I'm very fair skinned. I do my liquid foundation, let that set a minute, then apply this with the sponge it comes with, and then use a clean fluffy brush to get off any excess and voila perfection. My contour, blush and highlighter all apply perfectly on top of this as well.
Stef from Vero beach
So we all have different skin types of course, but this powder for me personally, was terrible. It's way lighter than the "darker color" you think you picked, it does not blend well AT all, and none of my contour powders or blushes would even go on with this powder on. Made my skin look super patchy too, as if I was sweating and tried to put dry powder on over it. It's gross. I deff did not like this product.
tikismash from Texas
I bought this on a whim while it was on sale and wow is it good! I used it to set a cream foundation and for bonus coverage in a few areas and it's so good! Gives a little bit of a blurring effect and didn't oxidize my cream foundation at all.
I'm blown away
Stellababella from Illinois
Got this during spring sale and was completely blown away, this product is amazing! I've never used powder foundation before & have a bunch of redness, acne, and scars on my face and this was able to build up and give me full coverage with no concealer needed! I'm shade snow in too faced born this way foundation & originally bought this in the fairest shade, porcelain, but found it to be too fair so I'm planning on exchanging it for the next shade, ivory. I didn't find it to oxidize at all & didn't cling to any of my dry patches.
love it covers my hyperpigmentation
dc from san diego
soft and silky formula that covers my acne scars well. this works best with some sort of pore filling primer imo (like elf putty) or it could emphasize pores. I also heard this should be paired with jcat hydrating primer but haven't tried that
