Comments about Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge:

I love to use this product for applying my bb cream, foundation, basically anything liquid. It gives a smooth even finish and really helps the product to set into your face. It's a great price, super affordable. I would highly recommend this if you don't feel like paying 20$ for a beauty blender.

Comments about Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge:

I used to loooove these sponges, they were my holy grail but lately it seems like something has changed. The texture has become a little tough and it takes forever to blend out anything. I don't know what happened but the nice squishy sponge I loved isn't here anymore, I threw all mine out and I'm looking to replace them with something better

One of the Worst Complexion Sponges I've Ever Used

      By M.B.

      from Fort Wayne

Comments about Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge:

It works, but it soaks up a lot of product and leaves my skin looking like a crepey, cakey mess. I prefer the Japonesque sponges. They work so much better and apply foundation beautifully.

        SOAKS UP TOO MUCH PRODUCT

        By RissaStar

        from Texas

Comments about Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge:

it tends to soak up a lot of the product instead of putting it on my face , so when I wash it never fully gets all the makeup out and molds easily. So I have to throw it away after a months use. The application is soft but the pores of the sponge kind of show up or stamp my face making it look like a blotchy hole-y job.

Repurchased the Miracle Complexion Sponge when I accidentally dropped my Beautyblender on the floor. The sponge is really soft just like I remembered. It blends liquid foundation and cream contour decently well. Only down side is that you must wash gently otherwise it tears.

I bought one about a year ago and it replaced my beauty blender. I was obsessed with it! Very soft and blends foundation like a dream. BUT I bought a new one a few days ago and it's NOT THE SAME. It feels a little more dense. Kinda like there's something stuck in the middle of it that won't let you squish it all the way. Still really good at applying foundation (hence the 4 stars) but yeah it's definitly a great buy!

This product is excellent. Very soft and easy to blend liquid concealer. It doesn't pick up too much product either. I use it both wet and dry, mostly dry. It's easy to clean if you clean it after each use. I wouldn't recommend letting product sit on it then cleaning it a couple of days later.

We don't apply any sort of soap or foam when we manufacture these, so that shouldn't have happened. If you want to contact our Customer Service team, the # is: 1(844) 284-0774

              Hi BMW,

We get this question a lot, so you are definitely not alone. I think you might like the level of coverage you get with our Miracle Complexion Sponge. You can use the sponge dry for fuller coverage, or wet it (and squeeze out excess water) to get a slightly less-full, more dewy look.

The one thing to note with a sponge - these do need to be cleaned every week to two weeks and then replaced every 60-90 days since they're porous. But they're really inexpensive, so no one seems to mind that at all!

              Thanks!

              A:

              Hi Maddi,

Great Question!! :) A lot of it depends on how often you are using your Miracle Sponge, and how much makeup you typically wear. We recommend that you wash your sponge at least once a week with makeup shampoo (make sure you also squeeze out any excess water and let it dry in an open, cool, dry place).

If you're a heavy makeup wearer, we would recommend replacing between 30-60 days. If you're on the lighter makeup side, we would recommend replacing every 60-90 days.

And obviously if it seems really dirty and gross, make sure you replace it asap! :)

              Hope that helps!

I bought this recently because of all of the good reviews. How come when I use it, I don't get great coverage like everyone else is? It just feels like i need to keep reapplying more foundation, which is of course not good. I pump my fenty foundation on the back of my hand, dot on my face, and then try to blend. Am I doing something wrong?

              A:

              Hi Jasmine,

Thanks for your question. Our experts recommend that you slightly dampen the sponge before use. You also will want to use lighter, sweeping motions, which will blend the product along the surface area of your face. Pressing the sponge hard on your face may cause more absorption overall.

All in all, brushes and sponges will absorb a small amount of the product, just by their very nature; but overall, you shouldn't find that it's absorbing a significant amount.

To be perfectly honest, I'm much more of a fan of using brushes, rather than sponges, just because I think I get better coverage with brushes. There are so many people who love their sponge, but I'm one of those who will pick up a brush any day!

              Thanks. Hope that helps.

              Hi Stevie,

Great question! So, the sponge is made from polyurethane foam, which cannot usually be recycled, but I would recommend a quick call to your local recycling center. They may allow that type of material to be recycled.

              Thanks!

I have dry skin . Are you suppose to wet it first , then squeeze it , then add the foundation to the sponge or to your face ?

            1 answer

            • Brand Expert

              A:

              Hi BeachBarbie8,

Great question. For dry skin, always make sure you're moisturized and using a primer that is specifically for dry skin (I have dry skin too, so I know the struggle!).

The best way to get a more natural, dewy look is to do exactly as you listed: wet the sponge and squeeze it to get a lot of the moisture out. As far as how to apply foundation to the sponge, what I like to do is add a bit to the back of my hand, dip the sponge in and apply. Some people dot foundation around their face and use the sponge to blend, and others add directly to the sponge.

I feel like I use less makeup if I apply from the back of my hand, but that's just a personal preference.

              Thanks.

Is this blending sponge as good as the ulta blending sponge or is this one better
Asked on 8/3/2017 by Jasmine from San Antonio tx,US

            1 answer

              A:

              Hi Jasmine,

There are certain situations where that phrase "you get what you pay for" is true. But I don't think this is one of them. Our Miracle Complexion Sponge is, without a doubt, our most popular item in the Real Techniques line not only because it's affordable, but also because it is high quality.

One of the reasons I would probably recommend going with the Miracle Complexion sponge is its affordability. Because of the porous nature of these sponges, you will want to change it out every 90 days or so, based on how you use it. If it was something you bought once every year, a splurge might be the way to go - but because you will need to replace it pretty often, your wallet might like it better if you went with the Miracle Sponge.

And, you can also buy our Twin Pack Miracle Complexion Sponge and save a few bucks (http://www.ulta.com/miracle-complexion-sponge-set?productId=xlsImpprod12231055) or our Four Pack and save even more (http://www.ulta.com/4-miracle-complexion-sponges?productId=xlsImpprod15361251)!

If you do a search for Beauty Blender vs Miracle Sponge on Google or YouTube, you will probably find a lot of people saying that the Miracle Sponge is the way to go. I tend to agree with them! :)

              Thanks!

              Hi Kiyeera,

              Great question.

After washing, make sure all excess moisture is squeezed out from the sponge. Store it out in the open so it can air dry. I usually place it on my soap dish or on a dry wash cloth. The one thing we do not recommend is to put it in a closed environment where air can't get to it (like a case or a drawer).

Depending on how often you use it, make sure you replace it every 60-90 days.

              Thanks!
