How to Apply Butter Gloss Step 1: For more definition and longer-lasting color, first line and fill in lips with lip liner, then apply Butter Gloss on top. Skip this step if wearing alone. Step 2: Apply directly to lips using the soft doe-foot wand. Start at the center of your lips and sweep outward to the corners. Step 3 (optional): For a fuller appearance, dab a small amount to the center of your bottom lip and blend outward. Pro tip: Butter Gloss works multiple ways. For a sheer, natural look, one light coat on bare lips is all you need. For bolder color and longer wear, apply over lip liner. For a dimensional finish, layer a shimmer or glitter shade over a nude base. To remove, use a gentle oil-based makeup remover or micellar water.

This gloss is pretty cool. Its not too stick BUT you must exfoliate your lips first!!! The pigmentation of the gloss does not show up well on darker skin tones. I own Strawberry Parfait, very moisturizing.

It's inexpensive, it looks nice - but not terribly exciting
I've gotten samples of NYX Butter Gloss a few times in Ulta lip kits. It's inexpensive - and looks nice - but it's definitely not my fave gloss and I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it. 1. It doesn't last very long 2. It feels very meh. I have so many other glosses that feel amazing on - either really nourishing or cooling or gently plumping. Usually I put on gloss when my lips are dry and go aaaaahhh. I apply this if it's handy, and feel nothing. So I don't hate it - and I don't love it. It's not the first gloss I'd grab but definitely wearable! For the price, Essence Lip Oils feel a lot creamier and I enjoy more!

I have a couple of these and I think there are better glosses on the market. For me they empathized the texture of my lips and some of them dry down into a not-so-pretty stain on my lips.
