Most Helpful Positive Review Versatile and So Easy to Use! I've been looking for a brow pencil to match my hair since I got it partially dyed this summer. Usually, I use a brunette color and it has a reddish tint enough to pass as natural for me. However, in an attempt to go rose gold (red hair doesn't hold color!), I ended up with a blonde/red look with my dark red coming out in my roots. Naturally, this creates an issue with finding the right shade for my light blonde/nonexistent eyebrows. I tried Benefit Cosmetics Precisely My Brow pencil in a reddish color but it was far too red. I wanted to branch out into another "higher-end" brand so I gave Tarte a try. I was NOT disappointed! I picked this product because I wanted a smooth pencil (matte!) to draw AND fill my eyebrows (again, it looks like I have none at all). It looks natural especially when blended and the color is *chef's kiss* perfect in taupe. On the flip side, it's also got a tinted gel! This gel is a bit darker and would look good when I decide to wear a full face of makeup so my eyebrows don't get drowned out. I've never used brow gel but I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it is. I am using the pencil daily. I'm very happy with this product and this is one of those rare occasions where I've found a *forever* product for my makeup collection!
Most Helpful Critical Review 50/50 The vrow pencil works perfect! I was honestly surprised at how sturdy it was after seeing how little the retractable pen tip was. It fills in and draws with precision because its so thin, and it has not broke the first piece off during use.
The gel brush on the other hand...it goes on thick. Even after I wipe the excess off it still went on heavy, so I tried to lighten my strokes and it wasn't filling in everywhere. I used my eyebrow brush to kind of brush it in and blend it and it was drying and caked so it flaked a bit and brushed off leaving blotchy spots for me to re-do.

I have used the old Big Ego eyebrow tool since 2019 and have loved it. I was skeptical about the changes but bought this anyway and definitely will not be buying again. The pencil is soft and small, and the tinted gel is messy.

this is my go-to brow pencil. the color is perfect. the sketch side glides on great, the tinted side is perfect for filling in where my hairs aren't as thick as I like.

Great brow combo 5

I tint them first with the brush, then I fill in and outline with pencil.
Obsessed with this! 5

I start off with the liner and outline my brows very lightly (don't use a heavy hand!) and then use a powder I have to fill it in and finish off with the gel and bam!
Not worth the money. 1

I would not recommend this product at all. I will stick with my way cheaper drug stores brand.
Works about average 3

The color is so great! I love it. The brow gel really looks great! I do my eyebrows everyday and have tried so many products. For the price you pay, to me, it's not worth it. After a couple hours, my eyebrows have already wiped off.
Defined but easily smudges 4

Personally would get a separate liquid and pencil. Nyx has brow gel that was a lot less easy to smudge.
Absolutely fantastic!! Love it! 5

I chose Dark brown, the closes to my natural eye brow color. I am able to control how much I want to apply the color to my brows without them looking overdone or too heavy.
Great warm blonde color 4

I read all the reviews before I purchased. 4 stars instead of 5 because the mascara side is a challenge. Not impossible, but a challenge. You need to wipe off about 90% of the product by swirling it around the edge of tube before you apply or you will look like Groucho Marx with waaay too much product! Now for the positive- I've been searching for at least 2 years for a WARM BLONDE eyebrow product (s). I LOVE the color (I also bought the pomade). I do not want dark ashy eyebrows. The pencil is slim and sturdy and goes on well. It lasted all day. Overall, it's a great product.
AWESOME! BEST YET! 5

I love this product ! It goes on easily, perfect color match, and stays put until you take it off. The only
con is the is price is a little bit high for someone on a fixed income.
THE BEST!!! 5

The Best I have tried so far, and I have tried so many high & low end brow products. Please Tarte do not stop making this one!!! The pencil side applies smoothly, and for me you can draw on hairs in sparse or no hair areas. The tinted gel performs perfectly...sets and adds color to your brows and covers stray grays, also the gel does Not come out clumpy like a lot of other brands tend to. The application of both the pencil & gel has given me the best natural look. So happy I found what I needed in a brow pencil & gel where the others were mediocre or failed. The Taupe & Warm Brown colors are the best I've found for my brown & blonde highlighted hair. The staying power is good but of course not waterproof, and I adore the Pink container!! A darling "pick-me-up!!"
Absolutely love this! 5

I bought this on a whim, mostly because it was pink. I've tried so many eyebrow products and this is now my absolute favorite! The gel is very very pigmented and goes on smoothly as does the pencil. Highly recommend
Love it needs darker shades though 5

Great product need to be darker I bought the darkest shade and it worked fine but was a tad too light
Not worth it 2

I love TARTE products and this was a miss. First off there isn't much product. The color was a little reddish which didn't match close enough to my hair. Also, the tinted gel matted down my brows and they almost looked tatted on and not natural at all. I'll stick to my ANASTASIA brow whiz.
My fave brow product 5
Andrea from Toledo, OH
You can make brows look natural or more glam with a product like this. I love the staying power as well, holds all day.
Absolutely love this product! 5

I LOVE that the gel brow brush is small! It gets every little hair and the quality of the gel is amazing! I don't care too much about the pencil side, but man... This is my next go to brow product! Way better than ABH and that's saying a lot. It lasts pretty well too. Wore it all day and throughout the night at a party. Went to sleep with it on and little to no smudge.
Great 4

I love this product, I've bought the tarte pencil before and for doing my brows everyday, the tarte one went fast and this one lasted a very long time and created a very natural look; this is the best eyebrow product I've used so far!
It's okay 3
Pilleysaurus from Los Angeles
Love the pencil. Works great as a filler and gives a very natural look. The gel side is too much for my taste. Makes my brows look weird, far from a natural look. I tried wiping some, or most if I'm being honest, of the gel off the brush to see if I could at least work with less gel, but still too much. I suppose it's a great product if you have beautiful thick eyebrows already. Mine are annoyingly fine haired. I read another costumer's use for it as a natural looking mascara. I will definitely try that. No use in wasting all that product!
Good pencil w/ matching mascara 3
spacy from AK
Love how thin the retractable pencil tip is, works great on brows! However the gel looks insane and plasters my brows to my face so I ended up just using it as a natural look matching mascara
Not too sure about this one 3
McKinney Mom from Downingtown, PA
Wand is way too long so there is no control over how much you apply. I feel like I end up with Groucho Marx eyebrows. I would have gone lighter, but I trusted the consultant at the store. Not her fault, I'm the one who bought it. Would it recommend.
Love the brow gel, not the pencil side 4
Sky from Mesa, Arizona
i get compliments on my eyebrows all the time. and people have asked me if i got my eyebrows microbladed almost every time since i started using this. the only thing is that i ONLY use the gel side. i love using my ABH brow pencil with this brow gel. wish it came separately because i do NOT like the pencil side. the gel is so good that i buy I anyways.
