Comments about Mario Badescu Seaweed Night Cream:

I took a leap of faith to try a new night cream (I usually use Andalou Naturals) and was sincerely disappointed with this product.

    1. I cannot get over the fact that it has actual shimmer/glitter in it. This just shouldn't be there and I don't feel good about putting it on my face to sleep in.

    2. I also struggle a lot with the smell - it is extremely scented. In my opinion, it's not a good smell either. I also don't feel good about putting an exremely scented cream on my face.

    3. Not as moisturizing as Andalou (at least for my skin) so I think I will go back to my first love or try another product.

    4. In its defense, it is a a very silky texture and is easily applied. A little goes a long way and it hasn't caused me any noticeable break outs.

Overall, my consensus is that I personally like very natural creams, this is because my skin is very oily and strong scents etc. can set it off. I prefer something deeply moisturizing and a slight natural smell or non-scented. If you are a natural girl and you don't like the idea of shimmer and your grandmas closet... don't go for this!

I have recently switched from Origins Night-a-Mins to this product because I did not feel that I was getting good results from Night-a-mins. I have been using this product for 2 weeks and have already noticed a difference in skin feel, texture, and coloration. My skin looks very even and this moisturizer makes my skin so soft and smooth.

I use it every night. A little goes a long way. It's thick but and takes a second to smooth over your face. I wake up in the morning and my skin is so soft. My skin is combo and at times more oily. This really helps moisturize without being greasy or causing acne which is even better. It soaks in pretty quick to so by the time I lay my head down it doesn't rub off on my pillow. This container will last me so long because I use only a little bit each nice. I have had acne prone skin for over ten years and have tried so many products... I am so happy I found this line

I use this every single night. Some mornings I even skip washing my face because, after showering and applying this night cream it looks and feels so great that I don't need to. I go straight to putting on makeup and do not have to worry about breaking out. I also love that It feels like silk on your face. It does not absorb all of it quickly, but I feel like that is a pro because then your face is taking it in all night. I have been using this 7 months now, and from the beginning of use my skin has had lots of moisture without being greasy.

Comments about Mario Badescu Seaweed Night Cream:

I've slowly been upgrading my skincare to all Mario Badescu products and I was in need of a nightly moisturizer to use every other evening when I'm not applying Retin-A. I decided to give this one a try first based on cost. I have extremely dry skin and choose water-based moisturizers to wear under face oils on night. A little of this lotion goes a long way: a dab of my finger in the pot is enough to cover my entire face. It does not absorb entirely into the skin right away, but I do not mind that as I want a heavier night cream to really fight the dryness I typically find in the morning. I still notice slight skin flaking when I wake up, but my face does feel soft and moisturized. I read reviews before purchasing about how awful the smell is: it's not horrible, but it definitely reminds me of my grandmother. Not a deal breaker in my book but if you're sensitive to scent, you may want to skip this lotion. I don't know if I'll repurchase; I will probably give other MB night creams a try first before committing to one long term, but for the cost, it's a nice cream with hyaluronic acid, collagen, and elastin.

I was recommended to use your acne face wash with cucumber lotion at your spa in NYC along with the other acne products (drying lotion, cream, and mask) for my T zone focused hormonal acne. I have noticed, however, that my skin has been a bit dehydrated and dull with this routine despite being effective at combating my acne. I was also recommended to use the oil free moisturizer and was wondering if this seaweed moisturizer would be a good nightly addition? I am in my early 20s, have some fine lines, and hyper pigmentation with combination skin. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I have combination skin with occasional breakouts in my t-zone, but I also get dry patches and flakiness. On top of that, I have super fair, freckled skin and am prone to redness on my cheeks and around my nose. I know, I know... I've been super blessed in the genetics department. >.<
                  *le sigh*
I'm new to Mario Badescu, but the Seaweed Night Cream was suggested based on the Mario Badescu skin analysis... That being said, I'm really torn between trying this Seaweed Night Cream and the Chamomile Night Cream. I would sure love to wake up and be able to embrace my freckles without the redness, ya know? Would super appreciate some guidance!

                  Thanks in advance! < 3

Hello and Thank you for your question. As a fellow freckled friend, I know your struggle with genetics all too well! :)
The skin analysis was correct with recommending the Seaweed Night Cream. Since you do have combo skin with a tendency to breakout, we would suggest you choose a night cream that is oil-free, as the Seaweed Night Cream is. The Chamomile Night Cream contains oil and is generally recommend for skin types that do not experience breakouts. That being said, since you do experience flaky patches, you would benefit from our Rose Hips Nourishing Oil being applied exclusively to those red, flaky areas. Since it is a facial oil, you would not want to apply this all over your face or on acne prone areas, but rather, layer the oil under your moisturizer and night cream to the red, flaky areas only.

The big difference between the 2 products is the Seaweed Night Cream is oil free and the Ginseng Moist Cream is not. If you have acne prone skin, then I would stick with the Seaweed Night Cream. If you are not acne prone and require more moisture during the harsh winter months, then the Ginseng Moist Cream is a better choice. http://www.ulta.com/ginseng-moist-cream?productId=xlsImpprod6200707
