Comments about Mario Badescu Seaweed Night Cream:

I've slowly been upgrading my skincare to all Mario Badescu products and I was in need of a nightly moisturizer to use every other evening when I'm not applying Retin-A. I decided to give this one a try first based on cost. I have extremely dry skin and choose water-based moisturizers to wear under face oils on night. A little of this lotion goes a long way: a dab of my finger in the pot is enough to cover my entire face. It does not absorb entirely into the skin right away, but I do not mind that as I want a heavier night cream to really fight the dryness I typically find in the morning. I still notice slight skin flaking when I wake up, but my face does feel soft and moisturized. I read reviews before purchasing about how awful the smell is: it's not horrible, but it definitely reminds me of my grandmother. Not a deal breaker in my book but if you're sensitive to scent, you may want to skip this lotion. I don't know if I'll repurchase; I will probably give other MB night creams a try first before committing to one long term, but for the cost, it's a nice cream with hyaluronic acid, collagen, and elastin.

Comments about Mario Badescu Seaweed Night Cream:

First, I have only been using this product for 2 days... just as a heads up to you, the consumer.

Second, I was using the Andalou Naturals night cream before, and like it a lot but wanted something to "love".

    Third, I've got oily skin

    My first impressions say:

I really hate the smell of this- even my husband was like hmm what is that? It reminds me of a grandmother (no offense) it just smells kinda heavy and perfume drenched. Andalou has a smell but it was light and pleasant. I really don't feel that way about this!

My next thought was that it really did absorb in my skin pretty quickly, whereas Andalou would sit a little on my skin. That is a plus.

The color doesn't bother me, and so far in the morning, my skin has been pretty soft.

I haven't noticed any life changing differences (granted it's been two days) but I am really trying to like this product! I'm going to give it a few weeks and come back to decide if it is a yes or no! All I know is it better be good to make up for the smell!

Comments about Mario Badescu Seaweed Night Cream:

I am completely in love with this product! I got it while it was on sale because I was worried about having to use a lot of product since I have such terribly dry skin. I was so incredibly surprised by this! I only have to use about a dime sized amount of the moisturizer to cover my whole face. I haven't had any additional breakouts, and this honestly feels amazing and just soothes my skin. If I have any flare ups or irritated skin, this is fine over it and doesn't cause any stinging at all. The only issue I have with this is that the lid doesn't screw on very tight, which makes me worry that it'll dry out but so far I haven't had any problems with that. I will definitely be purchasing this again!

Comments about Mario Badescu Seaweed Night Cream:

I'm 19 years old, and I have very sensitive dry skin. Most products meant for dry skin break me out because of the heavy oils. This product is a perfect weight. Very moisturizing and not too heavy. I use it every evening, and it has completely gotten rid of my dry patches. I also have wrinkles and fine lines on my forehead (just like my dad's but probably also from stress) and this product has honestly diminished those immensely. I will repurchase again and again!

Seaweed Night Cream makes a great anti-aging addition to any anti-acne skin care routine. It is light weight and oil-free, while containing skin plumping collagen and elastin.

                  • Q:

I was recommended to use your acne face wash with cucumber lotion at your spa in NYC along with the other acne products (drying lotion, cream, and mask) for my T zone focused hormonal acne. I have noticed, however, that my skin has been a bit dehydrated and dull with this routine despite being effective at combating my acne. I was also recommended to use the oil free moisturizer and was wondering if this seaweed moisturizer would be a good nightly addition? I am in my early 20s, have some fine lines, and hyper pigmentation with combination skin. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I have combination skin with occasional breakouts in my t-zone, but I also get dry patches and flakiness. On top of that, I have super fair, freckled skin and am prone to redness on my cheeks and around my nose. I know, I know... I've been super blessed in the genetics department. >.<
                    *le sigh*
I'm new to Mario Badescu, but the Seaweed Night Cream was suggested based on the Mario Badescu skin analysis... That being said, I'm really torn between trying this Seaweed Night Cream and the Chamomile Night Cream. I would sure love to wake up and be able to embrace my freckles without the redness, ya know? Would super appreciate some guidance!

                    Thanks in advance! < 3

Hello and Thank you for your question. As a fellow freckled friend, I know your struggle with genetics all too well! :)
The skin analysis was correct with recommending the Seaweed Night Cream. Since you do have combo skin with a tendency to breakout, we would suggest you choose a night cream that is oil-free, as the Seaweed Night Cream is. The Chamomile Night Cream contains oil and is generally recommend for skin types that do not experience breakouts. That being said, since you do experience flaky patches, you would benefit from our Rose Hips Nourishing Oil being applied exclusively to those red, flaky areas. Since it is a facial oil, you would not want to apply this all over your face or on acne prone areas, but rather, layer the oil under your moisturizer and night cream to the red, flaky areas only.

The big difference between the 2 products is the Seaweed Night Cream is oil free and the Ginseng Moist Cream is not. If you have acne prone skin, then I would stick with the Seaweed Night Cream. If you are not acne prone and require more moisture during the harsh winter months, then the Ginseng Moist Cream is a better choice. http://www.ulta.com/ginseng-moist-cream?productId=xlsImpprod6200707
