Comments about SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen Grow & Restore Leave-In Conditioner:

bought it thinking it was a hair mask. I tried it anyways and it works the same as a cheaper leave in conditioner and it smells strong like playdough. it did leave it looking a bit healthier and shiny but nothing surprising to me.

Comments about SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen Grow & Restore Leave-In Conditioner:

I'm a very low maintenance hair person and I'm always been reluctant to add products outside of shampoo and regular conditioner to my hair routine. I'm usually a wash and go kind of girl. However, I've been heat styling more often lately and it's left the ends of my long hair looking dry and dead, so I knew I needed to try something new. I love this product. I just put it on the ends of my damp hair, comb through, then scrunch. It really upped my curl game - soft, bouncy curls. It took me a few uses to get the amount right. The first time I had a little clumping where I had probably put too much product in, but it was nothing a gentle brushing couldn't solve. I can see why some people might not like the smell if you like flowery or fruity scents, but I like that it doesn't stink of fake fragrance or smell chemical like many products.

I asked one of the workers at Ulta to help me find a hair treatment ( mask). and they picked this out for me. So i bought it, only it was leave-in conditioner, not a hair treatment.

I used this for months, then tried to use a different product. Big mistake. I just bought another one and my hair is happy about it. I have fine, thin, relaxed 4B hair. If your hair is thin like mine only use a little. If you use too much there will be a residue.

Comments about SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen Grow & Restore Leave-In Conditioner:

Love this product! I switched to all natural homemade shampoo and was finding my hair greasy, tanfling easily, and dry within a day. I went out and bought this leave-in conditioner when Ulta gave me some extra points to spend. I used it ONCE, two days ago and my hair STILL feels soft even with not washing my hair or conditioning since! I used just a little product to lightly coat most of my hair. It works very nicely to smooth down stray hairs around the face and scalp when hair is tied back. I left it for about 6 hours before I added some congealed coconut oil onto my hair from an experimental homemade concoction. I washed my hair before bed with my all-natural Dr. Bronner's All-Purpose Bar Soap I whipped up myself into a "liquid" state. My hair felt very coarse when wet, but when it dried and I combed it the next day, my hair was very manageable! I was very surprised and by day two my hair seemed softer than ever before! Thanks Shea Moisture! You rock, Ulta!

Ideal for thick curls & split ends

Comments about SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen Grow & Restore Leave-In Conditioner:

The tighter your curls and the thicker your hair the better this product will work, it is great for treating my damaged ends but can weigh down my wavy hair if heavy handed. If you have issues with maintaining volume (fine or thin haired peoples beware) then I would say skip this one and go for something less heavy.

It is moderately thick but pretty viscous and runny making it easy to evenly distribute. I only need a dime sized amount for hair that reaches down to my navel. It has the same lovely warm nutty scent as the rest of the Jamaican Castor Oil line. I don't get the benefits of the Castor oil for growth (can't use it on my scalp where it can do it's magic!) but I would imagine that if you can get away with applying some on the scalp it is a great ingredient in to have.
The only negative I've noticed is when I've gone a little overboard with the amount and weighed my hair down. If you have low porosity hair I would use a lighter hand, it has a slight tendency to just sit on the hair.

I will continue to use this and if I ever run out of this ridiculously huge tub I would purchase again and recommend it to anyone with the right hair type for this type of product.

Really loves this product! I have a fine 2c-3a hair that is prone to frizz and use just a little bit after I wash for a wash n go. My boyfriend, who has gorgeous, thick hair that can get poofy at times uses a lot and it's fantastic for him. Good as a shared product because it doesn't smell too manly or girly.
