Comments about Tarte Amazonian Clay BB Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20:

I told the consultant that I wanted a natural (paraben-free, mineral oil-free) liquid foundation that wouldn't totally cover my freckles, and this one is perfect! I had tried Pacifica's foundation for a while because I love their ingredients & company values, but it's so chalky and dry-looking, I was disappointed. Now I am a total Tarte convert! The SPF is a bonus :)

I wanted to try a BB cream and stumbled across this one. I'm really on the fence about it. It does have a beautiful finish but it doesn't seem to do the job for me. I wanted the consistency to be just a tiny bit thicker, it seems to be a bit watery. Overall, it's still a useful everyday product for the days I want to not "cake" my face with foundation

I don't usually wear makeup to work, but I do keep this in my bag for times that I feel like looking better than normal.....this does just enough to perfect it. Not sure if it would be great for acne prone skin, mine is naturally dry and this gives me an amazing glow. I can even use this without a moisturizer first, which is not something I can say about any other BB or even CC cream. Definitely not medium coverage, it just glides on and perfects rather than camouflages. If you are looking for heavy coverage, this isn't it, but if you are looking for something that you can throw on in the car in seconds to perfect your face, then this is it!

Comments about Tarte Amazonian Clay BB Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20:

I have light, dry, sensitive, acne-prone 29yo skin so I look for products that don't exacerbate my issues. This product was a no-brainer for me since I do my best to patronize only beauty brands that don't test on animals directly or by selling to markets where secondary testing is required. I especially love how yellow the shade light is; in addition to being a match for my warm skin tone it ameliorates ruddiness from acne and sensitivity reactions. The coverage is what I would expect from a prestige TM. The water-based formula is nice for versatility of coverage (big plus for me); it can be coupled with a powder foundation for more coverage without looking cakey.

Unfortunately, this product seems to potentiate cystic acne for me. Since perfecting my skincare regimen a few years ago I rarely get this kind of acne, and if I do, it tends to be one spot in a predictable area (hair line, by ears). Since using this I've gotten multiple new, angry bumps in places that are atypical for me, like under nose, lip and middle of my forehead. In Tarte's defense, I can't be 100% sure that the relationship is causal (this is no randomized controlled trial). Since I'm getting inflammatory acne, I suspect it could be a sensitivity problem, maybe with the SPF, which may be be idiosyncratic.

I'll continue to use the product intermittently to better establish causation, mostly because I'm loyal to this brand and Ulta does great bonus point promos that make me want to love this product all the more. Its possible that I'm using more product than optimal since I'm deescalating from fuller-coverage foundation. I've used Tarte's full coverage amazonian clay foundation (light sand) and really enjoyed it. No adverse reactions, nice coverage, and the consistency masks pores/texture issues as long as my skin isn't super dry (in which case, it can exaggerate dryness). I opted for the TM for increased hydration and SPF, but will likely revert to the foundation or try Buxom's TM in DTL.

I am absolutely in love with the amazonian clay foundation! I am in the light sand & medium sand range, I work in tanning salon and I'm looking for something a little lighter than foundation what range would I be with my yellow undertones and tanner skin? I'm currently using the medium sand.

You don't need to moisturizer since it's a great multi-tasking formula! If you want to set it, you could lightly dust a translucent or tinted powder over it if you're looking for more coverage. It gives you great coverage though for a primer.

                    A:

BB tinted treatment primer offers medium coverage with a matte finish, while the BB tinted moisturizer offers light coverage with a natural finish. The BB primer is an oil-free, 12-hour formula and works as a moisturizer, treatment, sunscreen and light foundation to help even skin tone and diffuse the look of fine lines and pores. The BB mositurizer is also oil-free with SPF 20 sunscreen. It moisturizes, brightens and revitalizes skin while giving you buildable, sheer-light coverage.
