I've had this for a few weeks now and I really like it! It's way less messy than the balm and I love that I can just pump a few pumps into my hand instead of digging in a jar. It removes my eye makeup pretty well but i do have to admit i still have a little residue under my eyes from eye liner. I used this before I actually cleanse though so it works perfectly for me. I do have acne prone skin but this doesn't appear to break me out thankfully. Don't be scared of the liquidity of this, I just pump in into my cupped palm and rub my hands together then put on my dry face and I don't get it anywhere.
I used this product how it was recommend to use. Apply to dry skin with dry hands and massage all over face and eyes to remove makeup, and rinse. Well it works.. but my skin started breaking out EXTREMELY bad. I rarely get breakouts due to finding a skin care routine that works for my skin. After a week of using my skin was covered with breakouts!!! This was my first and LAST Clinique purchase.

only make up remove i'll use. i have acne prone sensitive combo skin (fun right?) this stuff takes off everything! use a few pumps on dry hands and dry face. massage for a minute and then add a little water and massage for another minute. optional but you can go in with a water-based cleanser after. hasn't broken me out or anything. love that it's fragrance and dye free.

I've used many makeup remover items. They either made my skin feel greasy and dry. But not this one. My face always feels clean and smooth. I even have my sister in law and niece using it. They love it just as much as I do.

I don't have "acne" problems, but, I have struggled finding a cleanser for the longest time, I know this is meant to take off makeup but I use it to just wash away the day, my skin is left soft and feeling amazing. I've tried everything cerave, cetaphil, neutrogena, fresh, lush, etc, etc... nothing compares! My forehead bumps that I got from all these other cleansers has diminished to just a few, after less than a week of use. I use this in conjunction with day and night L'Oreal moisturizer and Evian facial spray, and, occasionally the ordinary treatments. If you have problems keeping your skin smooth, give this a try, doubt you'll regret.

I use the product as an end of the day cleaning of all the makeup, etc.

I use this as a makeup remover and overall cleansing oil. My one complaint is that the nozzle is faulty on mine (hopefully just mine). When you press it down, it moves to the side and squirts oil to the side; even when I anticipate the movement it will move the other way?? Not like any dispenser I've ever used. It has gotten a few tops oily and that's frustrating.

I really like using this cleansing oil as both a makeup remover and as the first step in the double cleansing method. For me, it's the perfect oil consistency. Only 4 pumps to remove a full face of makeup. It's thin, spreads out nicely when applied to the skin and it's fragrance free. It dissolves all my face makeup/mascara (can't speak for waterproof) sunscreen, etc... beautifully. It rinses off clean with water and leaves your skin ready for a water cleanser. I personally don't like the thicker oil formulas for make-up removal. However, as a deep pore cleanser, I will use a mixture of this cleansing oil along with a few drops of castor oil to create a thicker consistency, massage for 15-20 minutes to loosen up those impurities, steam face and then water cleanse. My pores are so clean after this! Also, this oil doesn't irritate or burn my eyes, which is a plus.
NOTE: If you wear contacts, I suggest taking them out before removing your eye makeup or you'll have a hard time cleaning all the oil from your contacts properly.
NOTE 2: Cleansing Oils are meant to be followed up with a water based cleanser to correctly remove and dissolve all the residue that an oil cleanser leaves behind. Namely, the double cleansing method.

Sooo worth it, and I haven't found a cheaper oil cleanser that does the job better than this one. Smooth and easy to remove. Doesn't hurt too bad if you accidentally get in your eyes and is really gentle!

I use this as as a first cleanse in the evening to wash away sunscreen and makeup.

I love this ! It's a little heavy on the lids, but leaves my face super clean.

I love that this is not super thick and greasy, but removes my makeup really nicely. Once emulsified it turns into a milky substance and you'll see your mascara and lipstick melting everywhere!
I always follow with a water based cleanser after to remove the oil feel. After that there is zero residue unlike other oil cleaners. A huge plus is that it is non-comedogenic so it will not clog pores!

One pump takes off the whole face

Works great on removing make up but cause break outs like nothing else.
Even if I use micellar water and cleanser after still gives you the worst acne.

I have severely oily and acne prone skin. I used to use DHC cleansing oil, but it broke me out mostly bc my skin didn't like the mineral oil in that one and also it was so thick I was rubbing my face so much and making my skin even redder and acne hurt more. I like this oil because it is soooo thin and slides over my face very well, and will clean out stuff from my pores in a minute. It's a lifesaver!

I take my face makeup off with this, and I honestly love it. It's silky and smooth and really takes off most of my makeup. Been using it for two years now and I love it. You also get a free gift with purchase which is a plus!

I was skeptical at first until I used it. Takes all my makeup off and leaves my skin super soft. No heavy perfume smell either.

I ordered this and the Clinique moisturizing gel and it was supposed to come with 2 free gifts. What they shipped me was a three pack of some weird hair product I didn't order. When I reached out about getting my real order shipped they were rude, wouldn't send the free gifts and never apologized or took any responsibility for sending the wrong thing. They did reship the 2 products I ordered but both were open and used! I won't be ordering from ULTA ever again. Read other reviews, this seems to happen a lot.

This takes off my makeup great. Its not too oily and it like gets milky when you add water. I then follow with step one in my 3 steps

This is so far my favorite cleansing oil. I prefer it t the balm because as far as I know it doesn't contain micro plastics. It's also not hard to rub in like a lot of other cleansing oils or balms I've tried! Definitely use a second cleanse with this though ... of course. Will repurchase but I do wish it were a bit less expensive! $20 or under. 🤷🏻♀️
LOVE THIS CLEANSING OIL!!! 💜 from Hollywood
This cleansing oil removed my makeup so easily and so gently!!! I wear a lot of makeup just on a daily basis and makeup wipes are too harsh on my skin. But, when I tried this is absolutely fell in the love!! This removed my makeup without any harsh rubbing or anything like that and just did the trick! I also have sensitive, combination skin and I never had a problem with this oil and I've been using it for almost a week now and have absolutely no complaints!!

I have very oily thick skin. This product is so heavy and thick that I can't get it to completely rinse off. However, it does break up all my makeup and doesnt have a strong smell. I personally wouldn't buy again but it is a good product.

I used to use the Burt's Bees cleansing oil, and I hated the smell of that stuff. It was effective to an extent, but this Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Oil has virtually no scent, takes off my waterproof mascara (let it have time to dissolve the mascara), and I use the CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser to double cleanse. These two products work together to deliver wonderful results. I'm very pleased with the Clinique cleansing oil.
stephmeetsdress from Illinois
I'm not getting as deep of a clean as I have with other cleansers, and it shows in the size/appearance of my pores. I didn't realize when I bought it that it doesn't actually contain any recognizable oils, it just has the texture of an oil. It's totally unscented and light in texture, if that's important to you, but it's not moisturizing at all, and not as effective as a true oil.
Kimmieshell from CA
This remover is great. I use it nightly to take off eye makeup. It removes makeup quickly and easily.

I religiously used makeup wipes for ages, but my skin hated them. I switched to micellar water a few years ago but was never really felt totally makeup free after using it. (my eyelashes always felt crusty after and my lids were red). I decided to pick this up on an impulse and after the first use I'm a believer. My face felt super clean immediately and all my eye makeup was gone. Super gentle and didn't aggravate my eyes at all. Highly recommend.
