Most Helpful Positive Review My New Winter Moisturizer
I bought this to replace my Aveeno Positively Ageless when they re-vamped that line to have a blackberry scent and purple packaging. I prefer unscented products, and that one now stinks, what a shame. I'm not too sad though, because this one is better! It's very moisturizing and a little thick, so it is best for the winter time for me. I'll switch back to CeraVe's regular daytime moisturizer for humid southern summers. Most of the time, I swirl one pump of this with one pump of my foundation in my fingers, then apply to my face. It's faster that way! I have not had any issues with the smell changing after application. The way it smells out of the bottle (very neutral) is the way it smells all day. I'm 34 with combination skin.
Most Helpful Critical Review Just OK
My least favorite product from this line. I love all the others (cream serum, night cream, and gel oil).
Not moisturizing at all. Hard to apply alone. Easier mixed with the gel oil. Not the best under makeup.
Upsides: SPF, non-irritating (just a little drying but nothing major), non-pore clogging, no smell once absorbed, very little flashback in photos, very lightweight, no avobenzone
Downsides: not an effective moisturizer, tricky to apply, somewhat drying
This is probably better suited for someone with more oily or combo skin. I am normal to dry so it is not ideal for me. I will continue to use this until I run out or find a better everyday SPF. Will not be repurchasing, though.
Don't hate it... just don't love it either. It's just not for my skintype.
Reviewed by 120 customers Great for my Dry Skin

This is my everyday sun protection, and I am a big fan. I have very dry skin (as in, I wash my face with oil-based cleansers and apply moisturizers/oil after every shower to avoid cracking), and this is one of the only products I have tried that doesn't clump up on me. I like the smooth texture, and there is no white cast on my face. The other SPF products from CeraVe are NOT smooth on me--this is the only one that works! I usually use this as a first layer and apply my make up directly on top of this, but sometimes I use a primer between those steps and sometimes I use an oil before this product--depends on humidity.
For reference, I have dry, light skin and live in southern CA.
Leaves white cast on face
Kat from Sioux Falls, SD
This literally feels like you're rubbing straight zinc sunscreen on your face. Hard to rub in, zero hydration, leave white haze on skin, and leaves weird texture on your face. 0/10
Missing tube inside to dispense cream
Kathy from Georgia
I was really excited about this product because it was recommended by my dermatologist. Got home and nothing would pump out. After further inspection, the tube to dispense the cream is missing inside the bottle. Geez
It feels nice but doesn't look nice.
kim from NY
I use it in the morning and it looks nice but after a like 20 min you start to notice white spots everywhere and when you try to rub it in it it kinda just comes of in little clumps
Great for barrier repair
Ldevera from Portland
I have eczema and I love this stuff! I feel like it really speeds up my skin's barrier repair. I haven't noticed any pilling like other people said and I use a bunch of other.
skincare products. I will buy this again :)

Great for oily skin!
I have been using it over a week now.
Doesn't feel too oily and makes my skin feel fresh and renewed. So easy to apply. I love ceraVe products!
Not for Combination/Dry Skin
Bea from Toronto, Canada
Bought this as a winter face cream -- sun does plenty of damage when it's cold too. Anyway, left my skin feeling dry so I reapplied, doesn't clog but builds. Leaves a white cast on my medium/tan skin. Reapplication made skin feel tight. Wish I had read reviews before purchasing. Threw out the receipt because I didn't think I could dislike anything CeraVe. Wish I could get my money back. It's been an expensive "budget" brand mistake. Disappointing.
Peels up. Do not recommend
Sabsam from Texas
I love cerave products. I use the skin renewing products- the night cream, vit c serum, retinol serum and love them all. However, this moisturizer peels up. I want to love this soo bad but with the peeling I can't give it a good review. Cerave needs to revamp this product so this issue goes away. I am going to opt for using the skin renewing night cream for my day and night moisturizer.
i would not buy this product again.
lupita from San Jose, CA
leaves a white cast (i have a light complexion) so it felt my face a bit whiter than usual. another down side it left white patches in different spots in my face, not sure as to why, i rubbed in my skin till it wasn't visible anymore. and after a while it flakes off. i really wanted to love this for the price but it wasn't worth it.
Nena from LA
I was looking for a new day cream with spf. I have combination skin and this did not help me at all . It is very drying and kind of leaves a white cast the way sunscreen does . The texture was way too thick for my liking.

It's good but after awhile it gets very chunky
Leah A from Savannah
I loved the night cream so I bought this too. But I am disappointed because this is not moisturizing at all. When I apply it on clean dry skin all it does is make it feel dryer and tighter. And with retinol I expect a little bit of retinization, but it doesn't seem to be doing that either. Do not buy, just stick to a serum with retinol amd a good moisturizer with spf.
Amazing for oily skin
Rachel from Ohio
I bought this on a whim in store and I'm glad I did. I've been using it for a week now and it's given me great results. I apply it and let it set in for a few minutes before applying makeup. It doesn't pill for me and doesn't add an oily feel to my skin like most moisturizers do. However, I do have very oily skin.
Liked the cream but hated the container
Mags from America
I like the product but it stopped pumping products out so I thought it was empty. I opened it and there was so much product left so I just put it in a small jar. So glad I opened it before I threw it away. I would but again but probably in a jar or something so I know when I am actually out of product.
Love CeraVe but not this. Pills like crazy
TB from New Jersey
I absolutely love most CeraVe products but this one was not for me. I moisturize my skin every morning and you can't wear this on top of anything, it pills more than anything I've ever worn. Wanted to like this so badly but it's absolutely not usable :(
not worth the money
20somethingProductJunkie from tumwater washington

Great product- horrible packaging
4starrmom from Kansas City, MO
This is a great moisturizer for combination/oily skin. I love that it's lightweight and contains sunscreen. Great product for the price. BUT....the packaging is horrible. The pump does not have a tube extending into the product. So after about a week, the pump is useless and I still have a mostly full canister of product. So then I had to use a Q-tip to dig out the product every morning.
A squeeze tube would be much better for the consistency of this moisturizer!

good! i will recommend it.
kenz from California
Bought this on a whim for myself last week before reading any reviews lol. So far my skin likes this stuff and it hasn't given me extra breakouts, which is surprising because my skin is really picky and sensitive about what I use. The first time I used it, I did actually notice the thickness and the pilling that others have mentioned in their reviews. But I tried it again the next day and I used way less product than I did the first time, and I tried patting it on the skin rather than rubbing it around my face. That seems to be working for me to prevent the pilling. I only use about 1 to 1 and a half pumps. Any more than that seems to cause problems.
Londyn from Arlington, TX
I was looking for a moisturizer for the day time with SPF (retinol is a plus). Nowhere on the package says it meant to moisturize, so that's my fault. I had no idea what people meant by the SPF pilling until my second use. I thought it was my skin flaking off until I realized it was just the SPF. It's not too bad, just don't intentionally scratch at your skin. Maybe a good moisturizer for applying would help.
It's a no for me, dawg

This doesn't go on smooth. Its very cake-y. Wouldn't recommend.
Balls up, returned immediately
Combo skin lady from Michigan
When I put it on, it seemed fine at first but as I rubbed it into my face, it balled up and looked like dead skin - ick. I used a watery Vitamin C serum under my moisturizer and I suppose it may have interacted with that, however I've never had any issues before with it interacting with products. If you use an AM serum or plan to wear foundation, be warned that this does not play nice or lay nice on the skin.
Do not buy this is a terrible product
BTann from MN
I did not like anything about this product. It looks white on the skin which can be corrected with a blush or bronzer but after application the cream does not absorb and it ends up flaking off the skin in small pieces. I am thrifty and I try to find a use for everything but I am going to have to throw it away. I have used the Cereve hand and body cream and had no issues with that.
Would probably buy again
OhHeySarahAye from KY - Kentucky
This is a good product and is effective for sun protection. My only complaint is that it comes out really thick and is difficult to spread on. Upside, while initially it comes out thick it is actually very lightweight and blends in quickly. Also does not cause breakouts.
