Most Helpful Positive Review Far more hygienic than... Far more hygienic than putting fingers in the putty, and easier to scoop it out without *digging* into the putty. I used to have to keep swirling my finger to get a small film of putty on my finger, spread a little bit, swirl some more, etc.
This thing can just dig in and be ready to go.
Hygienically speaking, you're not double-dipping like described above (with face oils, any dirt, etc mixed in from fingers) and then touching your face with it - while this sounds paranoid, if you have acne prone skin or have active, young kids, it's a big deal.
Also great - your fingers don't end up with a layer of primer on them that needs to be wiped/cleaned before you do anything else! Haha!
The only awkward thing is putting it on like the lady in the video (applied to the face right off the scoop), but it's doable after a tiny learning curve - if not just take the putty off the scoop with your finger and dab around your face. Once you finger out how to get the putty off the scoop swipe-by-swipe in different places like she did in the video (takes a second, but warming it against the skin seems to help), you're pretty much contactless with the putty primer and no mess/slippery feeling on the fingers.
The brush is nice and dense, soft and buffs the primer around the face nicely.
While it does pick up a little bit of the primer between the bristles, the scoop gives plenty for the whole face. It's dense enough that it could be used as a foundation brush, too, afterwards (I use powder foundation, so I likely won't be dipping from primer to dry compact with the little bit of warmed primer still in the bristles, personally - but I don't see why those that use a liquid foundation on the back of their hand or dabbed on the face can't use it right after buffing in the primer).
The scoop, while fat and very blunt, scoops and scrapes putty primer like butter.
Most Helpful Critical Review Super super small When people said they used this for primer and foundation without any details of dimensions i thought it would be safe to get as a foundation brush unless you are a wee elf good luck. it is super small but i guess soft ? Second time i tried to buy a brush first one litterally saying foundation brush on it and being super small and underwhelming.

I put this on after I moisturize and I love how my foundation really latches on to it. The price of the primer and brush were amazing. Works just as good if not better than the expensive brands. Will keep using and exploring e.l.f. products

I love this brush so much I bought two. I use it for foundation. I know it's small, but I think it does a great job of blending out my foundation. More recently, I've purchased the mini putty trio, and the scoop is really handy to get the product out.

I love the putty primer on a regular day but using this has totally upgraded it! It blends so smoothly and makes my foundation look great. I also love not havigg by to dig my finger into the primer anymore. This makes it a breeze!

This brush is so soft yet dense enough to blend out primers / cream blushes. I love the convenience of having the scooper at the other end , it makes it so easy to scoop up products(putty primer) without having to dig your fingers or nails! And for the price I actually think it's beyond worth it , reason why I grabbed couple myself ! Go get yours now !!

I love the paddle on this and the brush is super soft, but I just think the putty primer works better applied with my fingers. I do however see a lot of YouTubers using this and loving it for the putty blush. I will use the brush somehow!!

It's nothing revolutionary, but if you already have elf putty products it's something fun to try out. It is pretty small though.

I bought this in hopes to be able to use less of my fingers during the application process. I really like it! The "scoop" side is helpful to get the right amount of product and the brush side is dense enough to press into pores well, but also spread well on your face. I think a great buy!

I think this brush is necessary for applying the putty blush. It makes the application look a bit better than blending with fingers and is more hygenic. I don't find myself using the scoop at the other end for the putty primer.

I bought this applicator in my last ELF haul and I am so impressed with it. I hate dipping my finger into pot containers and this tool keeps my Matte Putty Primer clean and sanitary. The brush end is dense and firm. It gets into all the crevices and corners of my face and blends the primer perfectly. Great job, ELF! You may not think you need this product, but you do.

I had been applying putty primers like Tatcha's Silk Canvas and ELF with my fingers. I disliked this method because of the potential for introducing bacteria. When I recently bought a new ELF putty primer I purchased this brush at the same time. I swirled the brush in the new primer container and stippled it on my face before buffing it in evenly. What a difference! I used less product and got beautiful consistent coverage. I immediately bought another brush to put in my travel bag. It had never even occurred to me to use a brush with my primer but I really like the way these two items work together.
