Most Helpful Positive Review Great sunscreen, but need a larger bottle This sunscreen is nice for those of us who prefer or require a mineral sunblock. It goes on smoothly, and it is neither oily nor drying. The tint works well on my skin tone, but it might be too light for others. My only issue is with the size of the bottle. It's a well-known fact that you need 1/4 tsp of sunscreen for your face (yes...that much) to get the SPF indicated on the bottle. That being the case, this tiny 1-ounce bottle might last two weeks. I'd happily pay more for a 3-ounce bottle. Buying three 1-ounce bottles is a waste of packaging.
Most Helpful Critical Review 1fl oz. seriously? I bought this item based in all the wonderful reviews it has. But what I didnt pay attention to is the fact that all of them are from customers that received it as a sample. Nowhere in the item description it specifies that it is on ONE fluid ounce. This is smaller than the free minis you get for promotional value!!! The product is good, but not $19.50 for an ounce. There are many products out there for a lot cheaper and organic biodegradable.

By the end of the day this always found its way into my eyes and burned. It was greasy and wouldn't sink in.
This is amazing. 4

I was hoping this wasn't going to be worth the price, but unfortunately it is. So much better than the cerave tinted moisturizer.
"universal skin tint" what a joke 3
Andy from Las Vegas
I'm not very dark at all, im more on the light side of medium skin tones. Nonetheless the skin tint leaves a white cast that looks so bad. It applies nicely but I'm gonna have to return it just because it washes me out so badly >:(
Do better, clinique.

Definitely leaves a white cast on deeper skin tones making you look ghastly.
BEST SUNSCREEN EVER 5
Makeup and skin care enthusiast from Hemet CA
IVE TRIED SO MANY SUNSCREENS AND THIS ONE JUST LEAVES MY SKIN FEELING SO NICE! I wear this under my makeup and it doesn't change the application process and my makeup still looks flawless throughout the day. It's not to oily not to drying it's just the right formula for my skin type. I have combo skin normal to dry and this product is just amazing seriously my fav Clinique product. I always recommend this to my friends and Family members.

Greatest protection in a strong UV Index from Long Beach, CA
It's mineral formula leaves a white cast and after a long day you have a grease shine that reflects like a mirror getting that afternoon sun. However, this formula SAVED my skin when out in the sun all day in a UV Index of 10 my neck, face, and ears where all protected while my body was beyond burnt and red like a tomato. Would highly recommend for those spending time outdoors during the day, but be sure to wash your face at the end of the night. Highly recommend for the protection!!!
Will not repurchase 2

Hmm... it was out of stock for awhile. I've read some of the other reviews, I've never tried any sun care products from this line/brand, so I had a certain expectation. There is no fragrance. There's a sheer tint due to the mineral formula, however, there's no added shade. I guess its compact enough for travel, if you plan on being outside & you'd have to reapply. And this is the reason I cannot justify the price for only 1 fl oz. I ended looking like a big greasy mess at the end of the day. It leaves a huge white cast on first application. And if you don't do a good job cleansing the skin, be prepared for new breakouts the following day.
Can't Wait to Try Something New 3

I have a light-medium neutral complexion with oily skin. I found that this overall was a bit too heavy for me. I've worn this alone and under makeup and notice that there is a greasiness to the product that doesn't set. The formula is very liquidy and the feeling on my skin wasn't comfortable; It felt like I was already at the end of my day when my natural oils have already come through. What I do like is the high spf and the slight yellow tint it has because it brightened and evened my skin out. Just make sure you're removing this product properly whenever it's worn because I've gotten small breakouts/bumps when I didn't do so.
Greasy, Ineffective 2
Seth from Los Angeles, CA
I have purchased based on the good reviews. This product has very low viscosity and is quite oily so it's difficult to apply a decent amount. Using the recommended amount (a teaspoon for your face), one bottle would last you a bit under six applications. The tint is very light - even for me (light/fair skin). But with a very thin application and powder on top (keep in mind that when applying powder, your brush/sponge will invariably soak up a significant amount of product) it does look flattering. It needs to be powdered because it is so oily, it takes hours to dry on its own.
This is more of a cosmetic product - perhaps it could work weil in tandem with sun protective powder foundation. I would be surprised if it offers anywhere near the advertised SPF50 protection.
A hidden gem 5
Kathy59 from Houston, TX
This little-advertised product is a gem for daily SPF on my older skin. It has a soft tint that smooths lines and dark spots. Not drying, like so many mineral sunscreens can be. But it doesn't go oily either, even in very humid conditions. And the price point is great for such an excellent product! Buy it!
Great for under makeup 5

I use this after my skincare routine. I was light skin and the tinted sunscreen blends well with my skin. I do use it under my makeup. I use it daily. The bottle is small but very little product is required. I recommend this.
Leaves residue and white cast 2
Nat from Salt Lake City
This SPF definitely leaves a white cast and leaves residue when you try to use it under foundation or with any of your serums. If you don't mind the white cast I think it could be a good SPF but for the price might as well just get a drugstore brand...
I would not be buying this again.
New favorite 5

Has a very light tint but melts into the skin nicely no cast but is a bit oily which I don't mind because I have combination/dry skin and prefer a dewy look.
I have repurchased this item because it works 5

I like how I can apply it and be one-and-done or under makeup and it performs just as well.
Nice sunscreen 2
portlandia from Oregon
I really liked this sunscreen when I first started using it. Very nice and super moisturizing but left a little bit of a white cast/film, which doesn't usually happen because I have very fair skin. Had to stop using it because after a week I started to get some clogged up pores and red bumps, which is extremely unusual because my skin has never actually broken out before. Not terrible but probably wouldn't buy again.
Nice consistency, great spf! 5
Claire from Florida
I was looking for a high SPF, mineral sunscreen, that would also be non-comedogenic (since I struggle with acne) and work well under my makeup. (I'm currently using the Bare Minerals powder foundation, and this has worked like a charm with it!) I do wish the tint were a little more pronounced, for my no-makeup days. It's fairly sheer. But I guess that also means it will work with a lot of different skin tones? It does make my nose and forehead a touch shiny, but once I put my foundation on, it goes away.
I would not recommend 1
Kyra from Indiana
Definitely not for melanin skin, leaves a white cast. I'm returning it. I don't even think Caucasian people should use it, it does not rub on well at all. I never left a review for a product but I had to because I was so disappointed. When you put make-up on it doesn't even sit right with this sunscreen under it. I would suggest an Asian sunscreen like klairs or KRAVE BEAUTY Beet The Sun with SPF 50; lightweight, effective, and goes on smooth and no white cast.
More than a dab to make it fab... 5
Reads from NE
This is a fantastic sunscreen. With any sunscreen, a pea sized amount is NOT enough!!! Dermatologists recommend a nickel size amount for your face and a little extra for your neck. Reapply every two hours. I often use an SPF face powder to do this over makeup. If you use only use a tiny dab you're not getting the full SPF amount on the bottle. Using sunscreen is about more than beauty and avoiding wrinkles, it's about skin cancer prevention!
Has the formulation changed? UGH! 3
Myra from Winston Salem, NC
This was my go-to daily SPF. It had the perfect tint and an almost glowy effect. This recent bottle I purchased was different. It went on with quite a bit of cast, but the cast did go away. The tint was way off from what it usually is. Also, my skin broke out horribly and that's never happened before.
Godly 5
Temauri from Los Angeles
I bought this to test it against the Murad sunscreen, and it exceeded my expectations. Although I still prefer Murad's with its more pink-ish tint, this is a really good alternative. I experience really bad acne because my skin is rather sensitive to some sunscreens, but these two are amazing and honestly seem to keep me from breaking out. Although it is dewey, it does feel like it blurs my pores out and its tint evens out my skin tone.
Caused breakouts! 2
Diana from Fairfax
The first time I tried the product I really liked it. It was light and a bit oily but thats to be expected with sunscreen, nothing a little powder couldn't fix. After using this for 3 days I began to break out all over my face. My skin is a bit sensitive, but usually about being overly dry, i don't normally have break outs, just a few here and there on my chin or near my ears, but this was like an explosion of break outs on my cheeks, nose, between my eyebrows everywhere. At first I had thought it was my new cleanser, waited a couple of weeks and tried it again and after 2 days again breaking out like crazy. Will not purchase again.
Best sunscreen ever. 5
Nellie from Miami, Florida
This is seriously the best sunscreen. My face is super sensitive, especially in the sun. I apply this before I lifeguard and teach lessons and it works with even with getting my face wet. It's super lightweight, doesn't clog pores, and doesn't leave a white cast. Might be a bit pricey, but it takes awhile to get through the bottle. A little bit goes a long way. Definitely worth it.
Bought 12 bottles - HG product 5
MmDawg from Washington, DC
It only took one bottle of this for me to freak out and go online and purchase 12 more bottles. It is really hard to find a mineral spf 50 sunscreen. Also, I have rosacea so I have to be really careful with my skincare. This protects and does not irritate my skin whatsoever. Also, the tint is a nice champagne color and vanishes after you rub it in. There is no smell. The only con for this is the price - so expensive for only a 1 oz bottle. I love Clinique as my go-to skin care/makeup and was thrilled to find this!
