Would this brush work for applying self-tanner to my hands and feet for even application?
- Asked by MH
- Official Answer By Real Techniques - Brand EngageThe Real Techniques Ultra Plush Powder Face & Cheek Makeup Brush is designed for applying powders, bronzers, and setting powders. Its large, domed shape and plush bristles help create a smooth, even finish. While it's primarily intended for makeup. You might want to consider using a brush specifically designed for self-tanner instead to ensure the best results. These brushes often have denser bristles and are shaped to help blend the product seamlessly into the skin. Was this answer helpful to you

Okay so I am a brand new to the makeup community and I was wondering is it okay if I use the same brush for bronzer and powder? I noticed they are both so similar. Fluffy, Huge and Soft.
- Asked by Betty
- Official Answer By Real Techniques - Brand EngageHi! We are so glad you're here! This powder brush is brush is much larger than our Blush or Bronzer brushes. We would recommend using separate brushes for setting powder and bronzer. Unless you are cleaning your brushes between each use, switching back and forth could result in leftover bronzer spreading on your skin where you don't want it when you switch back to using a setting powder. Have you looked into our kits? If you are a beginner, try our Everyday Essentials Kit (Item 2534700). The kit includes a foundation brush, our Miracle Complexion sponge, a small setting brush, an eye crease brush, and our blush brush (which is big and fluffy and could also be used for setting powder!) This would have everything you need to get started! Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
Would this brush work for applying the Physician's Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer? Or is there a different brush you recommend for that?
- Asked by Makeup Novice
- Official Answer By Real Techniques - Brand EngageHi! This brush would be perfect for applying pressed bronzer! You could also try the Real Techniques Blush Brush which could double as a bronzer brush (Ulta item # 2230002)Was this answer helpful to you
- Q

- Asked by JENNIFER
- Official Answer By Real Techniques - Brand EngageYes, this is the same brush as the previous orange and black color, just updated to a new handle! Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
I want to set my face with the laura mercier setting powder, specifically my under eyes. Would this brush be good for that or would the real techniques setting brush be better?
- Asked by Makeup lover
- Official Answer By Real Techniques - Brand EngageHi there - great question! I would definitely recommend the Setting Brush for this because it has a smaller head, which is better for the delicate and small surface area you're working with around your eyes. Thanks! Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
Would this work well to apply bare minerals powder foundation?
- Asked by Geninemarie
- Official Answer By Real Techniques - Brand EngageHi there - this would be an awesome brush for loose powder like Bare Minerals. The fluffiness of the bristles makes application just about perfect. Thanks! Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
Is this brush good for applying bronzer?

- Q
Which brush is best for bronzer?
- Asked by Joelle
- Verified Reply - Brand ExpertHi Joelle, This is a really good brush for bronzer. I think brushes that have larger, fluffier heads are best for bronzer because you want a lighter application (not targeted where people can definitely see lines, etc). There is one other brush I would recommend for bronzer. This one is a new one from our new Brush Crush line. It's a Kabuki brush, which has a huge head and really fluffy bristles and is meant for bronzers and highlighters. That's found here: https://www.ulta.com/brush-crush-306-kabuki-brush?productId=xlsImpprod17481001&sku=2521985&_requestid=448158Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
Will this brush work for finishing powder to be applied all over the face? I didn't know if this brush was more for foundation rather than finishing powder.
- Asked by Sammy
- Verified Reply - Brand ExpertHi Sammy, This brush is *perfect* for finishing powder - I think you would be really happy with it. Because of the "fluffiness" of the bristle head, this works really well with loose and pressed powders, and actually isn't the best kind of brush for Foundation. For foundation, I would definitely recommend our Expert Face Brush (it's amazing): http://www.ulta.com/expert-face-brush?productId=xlsImpprod4260015 Hope that helps! Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
Is this brush cruelty free?
- Asked by Madison
- Verified Reply - Brand ExpertHi Madison, Yes, our bristles are synthetic (so, not from animals), and they are cruelty free. Thanks! Was this answer helpful to you

- Q
is this brush good for applying a face mask?
- Asked by Em
- Verified Reply - Brand ExpertHi Em, Thanks for your question. I actually wouldn't recommend this brush for a face mask. I think the bristles are too soft and not densely packed enough for that kind of application. There is a brush that I would recommend from our sister brand, EcoTools. It's our Flat Foundation brush: http://www.ulta.com/bamboo-foundation-brush?productId=xlsImpprod481496. I *love* this brush. I use it every day to apply my foundation, but as soon as you mentioned face mask, I thought this one would be perfect. It's flat, it's bristles are densely packed and they are very smooth which would make applying a face mask much easier. Hope that helps! Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
Can use this specific brush for Pressed powder?!??
- Asked by helenita05
- Verified Reply - Brand ExpertHi Helenita05, This brush is great for pressed powder, if you want light, even coverage. If you're looking for a bit more coverage with your powder, I would recommend our Retractable Kabuki brush (http://www.ulta.com/retractable-kabuki-brush?productId=xlsImpprod6330143). The bristles on this brush are a bit more dense and angled, which gives you more coverage overall. Hope that helps! Was this answer helpful to you

I have this brush and love it for multiple reasons. Is there actually an exact same brush as this but with a shorter handle to allow for travel, purse use every day, etc.? Looking for something as big and fluffy as this powder brush, but just in a shorter version.
- Asked by rebecca
- Verified Reply - Brand ExpertHi Rebecca, What a great question! Right now, we have our Mini Trio that you can find here (http://www.ulta.com/mini-trio-brush-set?productId=xlsImpprod10521067). That has a travel sized brush with a larger head (but it's a bit smaller than the Powder Brush). We will take this feedback to the company, though, and see if there isn't something we can do here! Because there's nothing better than having your favorite brush at home AND on the go! Thanks! Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
Both the powder and blush brush seem to be large and fluffy, and this is not a complaint. My question is do you need both brushes if both the brushes (blush brush and powder) have multiple uses?
- Asked by JJ
- Verified Reply - Brand ExpertHi JJ, Thank you so much for such a great question! One of the things that people love about our brushes is that they are so multi-functional and it really comes down to whatever works best for you! :) What makes the Powder Brush our largest and fluffiest head is the 1) the number of bristles we use in this brush; and 2) how hard the bristles are crimped in the ferrule (the "neck" of the brush). The harder they are crimped, the more they expand and the more fluff you get! With the Blush Brush, we don't use quite as many bristles, and we don't crimp them as hard as we do the Powder ones, so it makes it less fluffy. That enables you to get a bit more precision in creating your blush look, but the fact that there is still "fluff" allows you to cover a wider surface evenly. Hope that helps - and at the end of the day, we want you to use these however works best for you! And, above all else, that you're happy with them! Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
Hi...Should I blend after using the powder brush when applying a pressed blush? Thanks, Gayle
- Asked by none
- Verified Reply - Brand ExpertHi Gayle, It definitely all depends on the look that you want! :) If you are looking for a flawless, but natural look, then blending is your best friend. You will want to work your product into your skin and make sure that any defined lines from foundation, powder and/or blush are blended in. You can use the powder brush for blending your blush, but I love the Real Techniques blush brush (Item 2230002), or our Real Techniques Sculpting Brush. Those both blend like a dream. The Sculpting Brush (Item 2283194) is perfect if you are looking to define your cheekbones a little bit more. Thanks! Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
This brush seems very large. For applying my mineral foundation, will I be able to get full coverage into small crevices, such as under eyes? If not is there a better brush for my mineral foundation?
- Asked by Make Me Up
- Verified Reply - Brand ExpertHi Make Me Up, What a great question - and thanks for the detail; that helps us point you to a brush that should work well! I think you're absolutely right - the large and fluffy bristles in the powder brush may not give you the coverage that you need. In this case, because you are looking for full coverage, I would point you in one of two directions. The first (individual) brush I would recommend is the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush (Ulta Item #: 2244502). This is one of our best selling brushes and the density and shorter cut of the bristles will give you a better all-over look, especially with mineral foundation. The second brush I would recommend for you comes in one of our sets, the Real Techniques Core Collection (Ulta Item #2229998). This set has my all-time favorite brush in it (the Buffing Brush) which is like the Expert Face brush, but has slightly longer bristles. It also has several other nice brushes for foundation application (Detailer brush, great for concealer or a secondary use for lipstick; a pointed foundation brush: use with liquid foundation to build custom coverage; and the contour brush which you can use to apply highlighter to contour or create a sheer finish). Plus, it comes with a standup case for organization or it's perfect for drying your brushes after you wash them. Hope that helps! Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
Would the brush work well to buff self tanner onto the face and body since it's rather large and has synthetic bristles?
- Asked by Miya
- Verified Reply - Brand ExpertHi Miya, Such a great question! That Powder Brush is one of my favorites! As much as I love it for things like powder, bronzer, blush, etc, I actually would recommend that you use a brush with shorter, denser bristles to apply self-tanner. That is going to give you a bit more control and will enable you to really buff the product into your skin. My top recommendation would be the Buffing Brush that is found in the Core Collection (that is Ulta Item # 2229998). That is my absolute favorite Buffing Brush ever! I honestly don't think I could live with out it! :) The other one I would recommend (if you don't want to buy the set) is our Expert Face Brush (Ulta Item # 2244502). That is one of our best sellers and I think you would love it. Either of those two brushes would be a great tool for you to apply self-tanner. Thanks - hope that helps! Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
What kind of coverage can you get with this brush?
- Asked by Nat727
- Verified Reply - Brand ExpertHI Nat727, The great thing about our Real Techniques brushes is that they are designed to be the ideal tool for whatever look you are going for.. The Powder Brush has synthetic taklon bristles, custom cut and crimped for ideal pick-up and release of most powders. The brush enables you to build and blend to your optimum coverage level, from either a natural, soft-powder look to a flawless, airbrushed finish. Thanks! Hope that helps! Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
Can this brush be used to apply bronzer or powder foundation?
- Asked by bengalibarbie
- Verified Reply - Brand ExpertHi Bengalibarbie, Such a great question! The wonderful thing about almost all of our Real Techniques brushes is that they have multiple uses. So, to answer your question, yes! You can use this for powder foundation, but also to apply bronzer. I actually use mine to apply bronzer since it is so plush, it gives me that sun-kissed finish that I want. Thanks! Was this answer helpful to you

Real Techniques has clearly cut quality costs
I've had my trusty set of Real Techniques brushes for about four years and recently went to finally replace them. I bought this brush first as my old powder brush is (just now) beginning to become a bit rough and scratchy. HOWEVER, I received this and tried it out only to find that it's significantl...

Wonderful
Absolutely amazing brush great quality would highly recommend much better than eco tools for a few extra dollars
It's big and fluffy
I've been waiting to hit a big, fluffy brush to use as my bronzer brush. This is slightly bigger than I'd like but it diffuses my bronzer good.
Best blush
I use other brand named blushes but this is my most favorite!
Nice brush
It is a good quality brush and works very well putting on my powder foundation.
good brush overall
this brush is a common powder brush. the bristles feel too synthetic and somewhat scratch your face depending on how you use it. I have a powder brush from eco tools and it feels much softer. but overall this is a cheaper powder brush that works well enough
