This product works. I've tried 5 different typed of DS. The only other brand that's effective is Suave. Dove is good, I don't like the perfume. Don't bother with Pantene, it's more like hairspray, & Styliste Ultîme (German).
I purchased the "unscented" version of NYM. Finally, a dry shampoo without a heavy perfume! THANK YOU SOO MUCH. Genius. I washed Monday night & didn't wash until Friday. See picture. I applied day after I shampooed. Perhaps if u apply when hairs too greasy, it's not gna work as well. I stopped using DS bc I couldn't stand any of the perfumes, no matter how subtle or strong. Esp when hair isn't squeaky clean, it's gna hold onto smells more.
This is my holy grail now. I have fine, thin, long hair to my elbow. I color w highlights. My roots get greasy esp bc I live in Florida & it's hott! I'm low maintenance. No blow dry, no flat iron, no products. I used to use a root lifter. Now this is my root lifter. It gives hair a texture.
I need to mention, this shuld spray white. First time I tried it, I think I shook can too much. It just sprayed air (butane). User error. Cple days later, I tried again. This time I shook bottle & let it sit for 30-60 seconds, then it sprayed white. And I do a good brushing beforehand. It's harder for me to brush the roots after a few days. My hair gets knotty at the root anyways.
Thank you NYM. Love 💚the unscented. It works like a charm 👍
I work retail, so occassionally, I am scheduled to work at 8:00 a.m. When that happens, I usually take my shower the night before. My hair is normally pretty oily, so it looks greasy and limp if I don't shampoo it every day. I bought this dry shampoo on a whim. It's relatively cheap, and a fairly big bottle.
When I first started using it, I loved the results. It did a good job of controlling the oil and you couldn't even tell I'd washed my hair the night before. I also liked that you got the desired effect using very little product.
But then in March, I was schedule for 8:00 a.m. shifts 5 days in a row. I washed my hair the night before, and then used this dry shampoo before work in the morning. The following week, I noticed a major change in my hair. It became very dry, brittle, and started falling out. When I blow dry my hair, I run my fingers through it as I'm drying it, just to fluff it out a little more. When I would do this, I would find numerous strands between my fingers. I also started noticing more hair falling out in the shower. Not enough to really freak me out, but definitely more than normal. My hair started looking like straw, which has NEVER been a problem for me before. I realized it had to be from this dry shampoo. So I stopped using it and threw it in the trash. But the damage was already done to my hair.
I tried several deep conditioners, but couldn't find one that repaired the damage and made my hair healthy again. But then I found Neutrogenia Triple Moisture Daily Deep Conditoner. I had to use about a palmful of product and leave it on for 5 minutes (as opposed to the 1 minute it says on the tube) but the Neutrogenia Deep Conditioner has done a good job of repairing the damage. My hair is soft and looks more healthy than it has in months. It's not 100% restored, but it is very close. I suspect that it will only be a few more days before my hair is back to normal.
When I saw the ingredients for this dry shampoo, I was absolutely floored. The first 3 ingredients are isobutane, propane, and alcohol. No wonder it fried my hair! Needless to say, I don't recommend this product to anyone, and will definintely NOT repurchase. If you are looking for a GOOD dry shampoo, I suggest the one by Suave Professionals.
I love this new dry shampoo from not your Mother's! It works amazing on the days that I don't have time to wash and dry my hair. I just spray this Magic in a bottle in my hair and I'm ready for the day!
i really like this product. I am no expert on dry shampoo but I like this product and i really like the brand. I use their mouse n gel as well.
I've used this on occasion and while it does help in the short term to get through til you can shampoo your hair. It leaves a bit of residue and it always lightens my dark brown hair. So not my go to but works in a pinch.
I really love this dry shampoo. I've tried other drug store ones but they don't compare to this. It makes my hair feel nice and fresh after using it.
I bought a small 2.5 fl. oz. can to try, but I can't make it spray unless I use two hands. I'm wondering if anyone else has had the same problem. It's hard to aim it exactly where you want it because of this. Maybe I got a defective can?
