HOW TO APPLY:
Dispense Tinted Moisturizer on the back of your hand and use it as a palette.
Picking up a small amount from back of the hand, apply with fingers, smoothing over face in a downward motion to ensure facial hairs lay flat.
Laura recommends starting at the outer portion of the face and working inwards toward the nose, avoiding excess application around the contours of the face.
Pat on additional product to build coverage where needed.
Laura's finishing touch, inspired by a Parisian facial technique, is to smooth the remaining product under the jawline, neck, and chin.
PRO TIPS:
To build more coverage, pick up product on the back of hand using a foundation brush and work Tinted Moisturizer into the bristles on a clean area on back of the hand. Stipple onto any areas that need additional coverage.
If a fuller coverage is desired, mix a few drops of foundation into Tinted Moisturizer to get more pigment.

Unfortunately this was way too dark. I did test it on my cheek. It's a smooth formula, doesn't cake up or pile over my other skincare. Night repurchase in my color once I run out of my other one.

Im not sure when the reformulation happened but it works so well. The formula does not separate anymore and i dont find myself getting oily . It goes on silky and stays where it is put.

Thank you to Laura Mercier for sending me this product in exchange for my opinion.Believe the matte claims—because they are very real. What makes this product a little confusing is that it's marketed as a moisturizer. Normally when you think moisturizer, you think hydration, glow, and plump skin. But this one also claims to be matte… and it absolutely delivers on that. I can actually see this being a great product for the summer, especially on those hot, humid days when the last thing you want is your face feeling greasy. If you have oily skin, you'll probably really enjoy this. If you have dry skin, though, I don't think this will be your favorite. The finish isn't super flat or chalky looking—it's more of a matte feel. Your skin still looks like skin, but the texture feels velvety and shine-free without making your face feel tight or parched. It does provide some light coverage, which helps even things out a bit. That said, I'm just not in love with it. I own other skin tints that make me look in the mirror and think, "Wow, my skin looks amazing today." This one doesn't quite give me that moment—it's more of a solid "okay." It's not particularly moisturizing, and it doesn't really blur pores or texture. What it does do is give a matte finish, provide SPF protection, and lightly even out your complexion. For me, this is the kind of product I'd reach for when I'm going to be outside in the summer, running errands, or just want something quick that gives a little polish without looking like I'm wearing makeup. It's just not practical in my makeup bag because it's too specific.
More like foundation
I returned this. It felt nice on my skin and has a soft finish, but it's definitely foundation. There's no just rubbing it in. It needs to be applied and it's thick. It transfers onto clothes and anything your face rubs on. If you want to look nice and photograph well I'd recommend it, but not for daily use.

I actually prefer this over the illuminating tinted moisturizer by Laura mercier, this one gives a nice natural skin look without looking over done, overly matte, or like an oil slick. A little goes a long way or you can layer for a more full coverage look. I prefer to layer it with powder blush and a stick bronzer contour and those products layer well over it without looking patchy or separating. No smell!
