Q
I apply this primer as instructed, not too much and wait a few minutes for it to sink in. While it does make my skin look smooth and flawless, as soon as I apply my foundation it starts to pill. Would it be better to use this primer with a non silicone foundation? Or do you have any other tips on preventing pilling?
Asked by Eve
Official Answer By Tarte - Brand Engage
Hi there! We suggest using very little product as a little bit goes a long way. Applying too much (or layering too much) can cause it to ball up. Work little by little massaging it into the skin before foundation application. We hope that helps! Was this answer helpful to you

Oily Skin & Mature Skin Friendly

I have tried a number of primers that work well on my oily skin. This one isn't formulated specifically for oily skin, but hands down it's the best. Stays on all day. Works well on enlarged pores or any texture issues. Best of all it's maturity skin friendly. :-)

Blur what???

I have tried this product every which way but loose. I tried looking up videos on how to apply. Thought, maybe I was doing something wrong. Too much? Too little? Didn't wait long enough after application? Nothing works. Goes on beautiful drive to work, check the mirror? I look worse. I kept blaming ...

I have used tona and tons of primers in my 44 years of life and I'm telling you, this is a keeper. First of all, because of my age, i have numerous skin imperfections and this makes my face look amazing. It makes my pores disappear (DISAPPEAR) and i dont do anything special to apply it. Like, i hope, everyone else, i start by washing my face with a gentle face wash (Cetaphil Foaming Cleanser…dermatologist recommended and shes was awesome in doing so) toning (Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Salicylic Acid Exfoliating Toner), applying serum (Blithe Pressed Serum Chaga Mushroom in A.M. because i use something different for bedtime and eye cream (Sunday Riley's Auto-Correct—I said i was old…i mean mature) then my sunscreen (Missha All-around Safe Block SPF 50 is the best btw…you dont know what you dont know and now you know). Then i go in with this primer using my hands. I dont warm it up, nothing. Just smear it on anf that works for me. I think starting with clean, exfoliated, and moisturized skin is the key factor. Next, I use Loreal Glowtion and powder foundation with an Elf Flawless Face Brush. Yes, you heard that correctly, i use a highlighter (no glitter, only dewy goodness) under a powder foundation. Trust me, you will have the most beautiful glow ever. (I honestly cannot understand why anyone uses liquid foundation. That stuff, no matter the brand, finish, and promises, doesn't deliver for me. Never has, and ive gone through more of them than most people ever will in their lifetime). I digress. Powder foundation (I use Covergirl Simply Ageless (and that works for anyone, regardless of age in blurring any skin imperfections and so easy to build to hide any acne or uneven skin tone). Next, i use One Size in Pink for a setting powder. Then i move on to my bronzer and then blush, yes…i use the setting powder first) I think ive advertised enough so I dont need to list those out but they are both powders also). Then i take my foundation brush (the same one i used for my foundation) and blend it all together. What doni end up with? A smooth, poreless, dewy complexion that lasts all day without budging. Ling story short, if you prep this correctly (like should for all makeup applications honestly) this will work beautifully and IT DOES NOT DRY OUT YOUR SKIN. Take it from a 44–year-old peri-menopausal woman, with more skin issues than in years past…if i can achieve a dewy, even toned, blurred look, you can too. And please, leave liquid foundation alone…it only accentuates what youre trying to hide.

Does blur pores, but it sits on top of skin and over time leaves flakes and dries out skin.

I won't leave the house w out this on. It can be worn alone which i love and it also plays well on top of mineral sunscreen. I have yet to find another product that compares to this primer. It just does it all and i will always repurchase and have back ups.

My absolute favorite, I have large pores and this helps cover everything!! I apply this before foundation and it makes it look like air brush finish.
