Worth the Learning Curve

I've been using Stila's Stay All Day Chroma-Flash Liquid Eye Liner for about a year now across three shades - Mermaid, Peacock, and Firefly - and Mermaid is my favorite. Here's the thing: At first, I hate the feel of it on my eyes and putting it on was problematic but I kept coming back to this liner because there is genuinely nothing else like it. The color payoff is stunning, and the way the chrome shifts is just magical. Once you see it on, you understand why you'd put in the effort to figure it out. And there is effort involved. I didn't love it at first - I was using too much product, which left my lashes clumped and gave me a heavy, almost crusty feeling on my eyes. This stuff locks in seriously, so too much of it becomes very noticeable very fast. But once I dialed back the amount, and then tried layering it things changed. Some practice and dedication helped, too. A few things that made a big difference: For more depth: I start with Stila's Stay All Day waterproof liner first, then layer the Chroma-Flash over it. It really makes the color pop. This is just what's in my arsenal - I'm sure any dark liner would help. For keeping it off my lashes: Less product, better placement from practicing, and a spoolie immediately after to free up any lashes that get caught in the sweep across. For drying: I have hooded eyes, so I use a little air to speed up dry time. If I open my eyes too wide too soon, I'm cleaning up smudged liner from my upper lid. The staying power is real - it's also a commitment to remove the next day, which honestly I consider a plus. A year in, still emptying tubes and here to buy the new colors!

I was so excited for this eyeliner. It's difficult to apply, doesn't go on smoothly, when you do get it on it takes a while to set and is flaky and tight when it does. Ironically, after the first time using it, it only gets worse as whatever is left in the tube dries out and becomes more difficult to apply. I really wanted to love this liner and am incredibly frustrated I not only bought it for myself, but also a friend.
Literally the worst eyeliner I have ever tried
20+ years of using eyeliner and this one is the worst. It doesn't glide on, takes FOREVER to dry, and feel tight on the lids once dried. For the price, it is truly a shameful product. If this hadn't been a gift I would have been fuming.

I purchased this in peacock and mermaid. While the colors are beautiful, the applicator is terrible and either globs the eyeliner on or is too dry, requiring you to dip back in with another glob coming out. Then that takes forever to dry. I would not purchase again.

So I tried all 3 of these in an Ulta store, thought they where beautiful! Ulta ran outta of them so I ordered straight from Stila. Ive used all 3 and omg they're not good! They run , drip and take forever to dry. Its looked like i went in the shower right after applying it! I saw on other people it'd be different colors. They're not! Lord i wont buy these again.. only good thing is they stay on your eyes not going on my eyelids,
