Great Pigment and Smudge Proof

I haven't used gel liner in a long time because I always had problems with it the smudging in the past. Never tried L.A. Girl's brand before and since they are cruelty-free AND cheap I thought I'd give it a go! So far I really really like it. I did a swatch on my hand when I first got it and was pl...

Not what I was looking for

I was looking for a nice opaque black liner and was wanting to switch back to gel liners from liquid, so I thought I'd give this a try since it wasn't very expensive. It applied very sheer, and though you could probably build it up, that's not really an option for clean cut wings. When I tried to ad...

Cosmic Black is super cool

I tried the Cosmic black, which has some iridescent shimmer in it. It's been a long time since I tried gel pot liner. I used to use Bobbi Brown's formula in black, gold and copper colors. Those had a bit of shimmer too. This eyeliner started off strong! It was pigmented, but since there was a bit of sparkle it came off as more gray than black. I call it soft black or dark charcoal. I do love the sparkle in this liner. I do not notice smearing or transfer. I use this on top of my eyeshadow. I do not wear fake lashes. I've been using this gel eyeliner consistently for about 3 months. It's already drying out and that's a bummer. I do have a mixing medium and I am now using this to pull product out of the little jar. I shouldn't have to do this. This should not dry out this fast. I keep doing it because I do like the sparkle in this black eyeliner. I see a lot of people hating on this eyeliner, but at this pricepoint I'm actually impressed at how well this has worked for me. I think I've established that I love this color and I might just pick up a new one of these knowing it will dry up before I can finish it. I love how easily it goes on. I can get a nice, thin line with the right brush. I love how it stays. I only wish it didn't dry out so fast. I'm extremely impressed with L.A. Girl. It's not as good as my old Bobbi Brown gel pots but it is definitely amazing for the price paid. Well done, L.A. Girl.

Smooth application, not long lasting

It goes on nicely which makes application pretty easy. But, it doesn't stay for oily eyelids. It smudges on the eyelid. Also the color isn't super black - you could probably apply layers to make it more pigmented, but if you have oily eyelids you would just get a more apparent smudge. I usually set it with powder or an eyeshadow and it helps, but not for a long time.

Good for the price, but crumbles

This is a decent gel liner for it's price, but I have a problem with it crumbling and getting all over my face. It is easy to work with, but the crumbling is a big issue for me

I pair this with the essence liner brush and it works pretty well, sometimes I have to go over it with black eyeshadow, but that doesn't really bother me
