I really didn't know what to expect! I ordered a travel size. Got it today. At first is very santal-ish and sandalwood. Very dry. It really does smell "gray." If gray driftwood or gray barnwood, had a scent, then that is the opening. I picture gray sawdust. It's definitely got some musk (sawmusk, lo...l) in there, and a smiiiiiidge or pinch of the cardamom. I just double checked the cardamom in my spice cabinet to make sure that's what I'm smelling, and it is. But I feel like the cardamom is in the background, really far away. I wish there was more as it's a lovely spice. I wanted to sprinkle cardamom on my arm to make the scent come more alive. Where's the spice ooomph? The mildly sweet/floral violet leaf doesn't say hello until the dry down. That's when I personally like it more. Inside my home it smells good. But I just walked outside and it smells even better out there. This fragrance begs for cooler weather. Imagine a wooly gray sweater on someone outside in the snow. Smells like that. I think it's totally unisex. I was going to return this but the longer it sits I'm getting more interested. I'll hang onto this to see how it is when it gets cool outside. If I don't love it I would gift this. I think it would make anyone seem instantly huggable. I own a santal perfume and that's the only thing "santal" I had to compare it to. I have Clean Reserve Nude Santal & Blush. They're barely similar. Just in the woodiness/dryness. I'd recommend not blind buying a whole bottle until trying it. It's definitely unique!
