Still searching for my new homegirl
This primer focuses more on smoothing than deeply hydrating the skin. The silicones are supppsed to form a soft layer that helps blur pores and fine lines, making foundation apply more evenly and last longer. This could also act as a light barrier that can help reduce transepidermal water loss (TEWL), which is especially needed in the winter for my very dry skin. For hydration, it does include some nourishing ingredients, which help strengthen the skin barrier and lightly lock in moisture. However, it doesn't contain humectants, so it won't actually add much hydration. If your skin is dry, you'll still need a moisturizer underneath to get the most benefit (tewl prevention) When it comes to makeup performance, this primer didnt wow me. I didnt see MUCH smoothing diference in my bumpy textured areas. I think it sorta helps w finish and making my makeup stay in place. But it might feel a bit too silicone-heavy for those who prefer a more natural or dewy finish, and it won't control oil or mattify much either. Oh also this is kinda annoying to use. I alr wait 10 minutes for my skincare to soak in, and this has me waiting ten more minutes for dry down. Also the serum dropper thingy is so annoying; its hard to apply the right amount and a pump woulda been so much more conveinent

My new staple
A little goes a long way with this! I purchased in september and am still using the same bottle in January! The texture going on was a bit odd to get used to for me, but it absorbs into the skin very well in a few minutes and creates a really even base even with my textured skin.
Beautiful texture, has potential but not for me
This is likely being returned this week. I will give it another try with a doffernt foundation but this didnt help my makeup "stay" longer at all. Start with 1-2 drops TOTAL or you will be slick and greasy. I learned that quickly! The product is super slick and does help will laying makeup down smoothly. Other than that i didnt feel that it blurred any texture away.

I have been trying different primers, trying to find a great one that's cruelty free, for years. I've tried so many, from drugstore to luxury: Bare Minerals, Elf, Hourglass, Fenty, Laniege (not cruelty free), Rare Beauty, Tatcha... the list goes on. This is the one for me! It's fairly thin, not greasy or tacky, goes on so smoothly, and a little goes a long way. My makeup goes on buttery smooth on top of this, and my makeup stays put, through sun and humidity and sweat. My makeup doesn't slide off, or crack -- it will still be put at the end of the day. I use it with Too Faced Hangover Setting Spray (which is my favorite setting spray) and IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better foundation, and a loose powder, and my makeup stays put. Love it!
