Hot Tools Pro Artist Restorative Heat Care Repair and Protect Conditioner

I was so excited to try this product, which I received through the Stellar Product Testing Panel! I was really excited about the idea of a shampoo (and conditioner) that protects against heat damage. The conditioner feels lovely in the shower. It definitely smooths and my hair felt super soft while rinsing. However, once out of the shower, my hair felt like it held on to quite a bit of build up, and continued to have this feel upon drying. I tested this product with the shampoo in this system as well (reviewed separately), which I did not feel was a very strong cleanse, which may have contributed to the issue. As a test, I cleansed my hair completely, and then retried the shampoo and conditioner, again with the same results. I've posted a picture of my hair, blow dried post shower (no further styling) after using the hot tools shampoo/conditioner (white shirt), and then after using my usual shampoo conditioner (yellow). The pictures don't look too different; my hair is a little less smooth using this product, but the biggest difference was definitely in the feel/how weighed down my hair felt. My hair tends to hold on to build up pretty easily, so someone who doesn't have that issue may have better luck with this! Finally - the scent is a pleasant citrus (if maybe a touch strong). I noticed "fragrance" is an ingredient. I could probably do without this added ingredient, but it's not really a huge sticking point for me. I love the idea of the added heat protectant. My hair needs a really strong cleanse and light conditioner, so may not be the best match for this system. A different hair type may have much better luck!

This is a separate review of the my opinion related to the repair and protect conditioner. In the famous words of Matthew McConaughey, "Alright Alright Alright"! I am 50+ yrs old with super thick, wavy, coarse-textured, highlighted and spot-greying hair. As such, I require a quality product to tame the frizz and volume. I sincerely loved the rich feel of this conditioner as I applied it to my hair. It smoothed on well and felt like it was truly moisturizing. I finger combed it thru my hair and didn't detect the normal tangles. The packaging says to apply to wet hair mid shaft to the ends. I confess I didn't do that bc the majority of my frizz issues are at the scalp around my face where baby grey hairs are growing all wild and willy nilly. Additionally, I used more than directed bc I have more hair than most. Despite my tailoring the product usage to my needs, I am so very happy with the results. I dry my hair with a regular hairdryer to about 80% dry, then use a big brush hair dryer to smooth out the cuticle, and touch ups with a 1.5" curling iron. So, yes, lots of hot tools. I absolutely love how my hair feels. I keep running my fingers thru my own hair and twirling it like a schoolgirl. It feels so soft and smooth. I am very very pleased with the results. A couple of other things I'd like to note: -I did look up several of the ingredients and found that Hot Tools was very mindful of using quality, non toxic elements to create this line of hair care products. I'm impressed and will be a loyal customer. -I love love love the citrusy, orange scent of this haircare. Oranges are one of my favorite smells. -I highly recommend you give it a try.

Naturally before using a conditioner the first thing I do is smell it... hot tools conditioner has the most heavenly citrus scent! I noticed after using the product that my hair felt more hydrated and smooth. Normally after blow drying my hair I feel the frizzy dryness of using heat on my hair, but with this conditioner it kept my hair feeling beautifully nourished. I'm a sucker for a conditioner that leaves my hair smelling good through the day and this dynamic duo created that long lasting fresh scent. I'm really impressed with this product and will continue to buy it when I run out.

I recently had the opportunity to try out this conditioner from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. As someone with dry, thick, curly, frizzy, and colored hair, I've always struggled to achieve a healthy, shiny look without excessive frizz and damage. However, this conditioner has quickly become one of my new favorites, especially when used in combination with the Pro Artist Restorative Heat Care Cleanse and Repair Shampoo. Additionally, I noticed that after using this conditioner, I didn't encounter any difficulties when flat ironing my hair. Previously, I would spend at least 45 minutes detangling my hair before styling it, but now the process has become much easier and less time-consuming. Overall, this conditioner has significantly improved the appearance and manageability of my hair. It has effectively addressed my concerns of dryness, frizz, and damage, allowing my hair to look healthier, shinier, and less prone to frizz. I'm delighted to have discovered this product and its positive impact on my hair care routine.
