Helpful Styling Hints
Hair should be clean and dried completely before using any styling tool.
Comb out a 2-inch section of hair and place hair ends between the Barrel and Clamp. The Clamp should be on top of the hair.
Using one hand to hold the Cool Tip and the other to hold the curling iron Handle, roll under for a curl and over for a flip.
Leave the iron in fine hair for 5 to 8 seconds, and 10 to 15 seconds for thick hair.
Press Thumb Grip to release hair.
Allow curls to cool before combing or brushing.
When styling is complete, slide the "on/off" switch to the "off" position. Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool before storing.

I love Hot Tool products normally. The only curling iron I can guarantee the barrel to get hot enough to curl my hair. I usually use the gold and black irons but thought I would try this. made my hair so staticky and did not curl my hair even on the highest setting. I will be returning this.
Quality is Terrible
I bought curling iron in February and the coating is coming off, pulls my hair and is leaving coating in my hair.
Disappointed
I have been using wands for years when I finally re-taught myself how to use a curling iron with a clamp. I purchased this one because I've always liked this brand and the barrel size was perfect. I've tried (and failed) with this iron for months thinking that maybe my hair was just changing or it was certain products that I was using, but it would NEVER ever hold a curl. Then I started reading reviews and I realized that it was the curling iron. I have a ton of hair, but ultimately the strands themselves are fine. I tried different temperatures, holding for different amounts of time….nothing worked. Unfortunately, I can't return it but now I'm looking for a new one.
