Is this product helpful for Rosacea? Will it also help with dark spots (Female age 62 y/o)
- Asked by Edie
- Official Answer By Smashbox USGreat question! Yes, our Travel Size Photo Finish Correct Anti-Redness Primer calms the complexion and neutralizes redness with a satiny finish. This doesn't address dark spots, but take a look at our Travel Size Photo Finish Resurface Primer with Glycolic Acid. This primer will boost cell turnover to promote brighter skin and even texture. We do recommend contacting your Dermatologist as he or she is in the best position to advise on medical skin conditions. Was this answer helpful to you

Has the packaging changed, or the formula, or both? I liked the "old" green primer. Now it's not available, and this is in its place, with no announcement as to what is "new." Other than the packaging, what's new?
- Asked by Kathleen
- Official Answer By Smashbox USHi There! This is a new and improved version of the old primer and I really think you're going to like it. We've added a Silkscreen Complex (A blend of antioxidants, hyaluronic acid, probiotic extract, vitamins and algae to help strengthen the skin and protect it from blue light) while Rose, Algae and Mushroom extracts to calm and sooth your skin. Controversial - Best Primer but not for its intended use
Ive tried a ton of primers and none have ever made my foundation look better in my opinion.. BUT this one! For reference- ive used the Benefit primer, hourglass primer, priming sprays yadda yadda. anti-redness readiness!
Initially, my first impressions were of the packaging . The primer comes in a easy to use squeeze tube that delivers the product out slowly but effortlessly, so you don't get to much all at once. In addition, I like that the word "correct" on the tube was green colored. This signified to me that ...

Controversial - Best Primer but not for its intended use
Ive tried a ton of primers and none have ever made my foundation look better in my opinion.. BUT this one! For reference- ive used the Benefit primer, hourglass primer, priming sprays yadda yadda. Everytime primers just added an extra layer of "cake" to my face or made my face look worse than if I just did regular skin prep. I also used 'good foundations' like the Estee Double Wear, Lancome Idole, Shiseidos foundation, Charlotte T., and more blah blah. I got a sample of this primer and the green tint intimidated me but when you rub it in theres little to NO green tint, which i know defeats the original purpose of this primer but the ACTUAL priming power?? 10/10 most amazing smoothing perfectly lightly hydrating primer. Its not the slippy silicone-y type and its not just a plain 'hydrating' moisturizer re-labeled as a primer. Its a tiny bit drier than a moisturizer, which in my opinion is how it should be to actually grip the foundation. Its the perfect base after doing a moisturizing skin prep. If youre looking for a primer that actually creates a nice skin texture base this is the one! This was a surprising holy grail for me

I don't cove up the red as much as I like it
It works
I really like this product. Its great for reducing the redness on my face. Its light, not heavy. There's a noticeable improvement. Not the right product if you like a heavy duty coverage
Did not work
This primer did not cover up even the tiniest bit of redness on my face and my makeup definitely did not stick well to it either.
Best Anti-Redness Primer
The Smashbox primer seems to be more moisturizing and does not leave a dry flaky texture like a some other brands I've tried.
