Most Helpful Positive Review The perfect dry shampoo for fine/oily hair!
My hair type is extremely fine and straight. It can also be dry at the ends, but extremely oily at the roots the day after I wash it. I try to go as long as I can without washing it because I do color it and my ends are prone to breakage (especially in the winter). The Batiste dry shampoo is a dream come true for my hair!! I have posted photos of my hair at 4 days since I last washed it. My roots still look very clean! I do not look oily or greasy. I also love the Batiste Original because it gave my hair some texture and a lot of volume. I was able to put a little curl/wave in it, which is difficult for me to do. And my hair does not look flat, which is a feat! Additionally the smell of the Batiste is very nice. It's clean and not "perfume-y". I am very sensitive to overpowering smells and this is not overpowering at all. One thing I will note is that is does leave a residue on the scalp (which I have found with every dry shampoo), but it's not very heavy and it doesn't bother me. I found the Batiste Original to work perfectly for my fine, oily hair. I really love this product.
Most Helpful Critical Review It's Me, Not You
My hair is straight and very, very fine. The only products I can get away with using on it dry are hairspray and the teeniest, teeniest bit of argan oil. Otherwise everything else just weighs it down. I also have to wash it every day (or every other day if i wear it down one day, up the next). I bough this in hopes of prolonging the time between washes, because it's obviously not good to wash your hair as much as i need to.
This isn't a bad product--i can see how it would work very well for some people. For me, it showed up a little dusty in my brown hair (which you can get rid of by massaging it in really well), but it also weighed it down a bit, as almost everything does.
Glad i tried it, but sadly this must go back. Ulta has a great return policy, so if you think you'd like it, try it! I think, unless your hair is a finicky as mine, you might just like it!

The sizes are now incorrect. Since the new design, they have made the quantities less, but Ulta has not updated their quantitative to show the new sizing.
The new product
KR from AZ
I like the product itself. However, the new design packaging has only 4.23 oz in it. The old packaging (same physical size, BTW) had 6.73 oz. The option says you're selecting 6.73 oz, but Zoom in on the product pic and you'll see the new size. Same price, but less product. They think they're slick. No thanks.

Still leaves my hair looking oily, even with as much or as little as I put. Still the same result
Leaves hair with waxy buildup after shampooing
Papa Blaze from Los Angeles, CA
This dry shampoo is easy to use, spray roots and brush out. I've noticed that after I use this dry shampoo and wash my hair it leaves a weird waxy buildup and makes my roots appear greasy and dirty even after multiple washes, the only way to avoid that is by no longer using the product. That being said, I won't be using this product anymore.
Doesn't Do Anything
MP from Kansas City
I followed the instructions (even watched some YouTube videos) but this product just doesn't get rid of oily hair. The spray goes everywhere making a mess
not for girls with curls
CurlyHairDontCare from Florida
I have naturally curly hair and was looking for a new dry shampoo (the last one I tried had a strong scent). This one works well, but left my hair white. Being curly brushing wasn't an option - remember Monica's hair in Jamaica from the humidity? Yeah - that's what brushing curls looks like - lol! I tried rubbing it in near my roots but there was still a fair amount of white on my hair.
I think if you have brushable hair you could blend the white out with a hairbrush. If you've got curls it might not be a good choice for you.
I wouldn't buy this again

Well if your looking to start your hair aflame, this is the product for you! Please read the ingredients and think twice about inhaling this product!!
tip: spray, wait 2 min, brush it out really good.
Saba from GA
a youtuber has a video with tips and that worked awesome. Pull hair apart. spray sides and under the crown. Leave it for 2 min and then brush, brush, brush really good. Style asusual. I curl ends with hair straightener and loved how it turned out.
Does as expected!
Bug from Georgia
Does leave a white cast, but if you brush/rub it in it fades away. Good price and works!
Amanda from Pennsylvania
I used to have to wash my hair every day because it was so oily, I bought this and didn't have to for 4 days! There was a minor white residue when I first sprayed it on but it went away after about an hour
Alicia from MI
I have dark brown hair and it made my whole head white. I tried to rub it in and it took forever. I can tell it probably works well to take out the greasy, oily look but I couldn't get the white residue out.
The only thing that's worked
HumidFlorida from Orlando, FL
I have extremely oily hair. This doesn't give me the results I see other people have with their choice of dry shampoo, BUT it has given me the best result I've seen...so I'll take it. Lol
This product is a must have!

I love this spray. My hair is fine & thin so this really helps with absorbing oil & giving my hair volume & body on days I don't shampoo. I love the non scent one but there are many scents to choose from. It is a little pricey but worth it.
No white residue!
Julie from Maryland
compared to other dry shampoos I have tried, this one isn't the most oil-absorbing. However it is one of the few that doesn't leave a noticable white cast over my hair. once you work it in, it's not noticable at all
my go to!

One of the products I always have to repurchase!
The best of dry shampoos
hs from Racine
This is my favorite dry shampoo on the market. The smell is always great and works to hide day 2 oils. The only thing I don't like is how chalky it is.. after using it, my bathroom is coated in white powder which drives me insane!
Kat from VA
I recently got my haircut really short, so I found myself touching it a lot to get out of my face and really just to mess with it and get it to look the way I wanted. This left it getting greasy literally one day after washing it. This was an absolute lifesaver because it not only smells great, but it gives volume and gets rid of that dirty, greasy look. I've used other dry shampoos and none of them are as good as this
Not my favorite
Steph from Atlanta
I had high hopes for this dry shampoo after reading about it. I didn't care for the smell, and it did leave a dusty whitish-gray residue on my hair. Probably won't purchase again.
13 oz size works great. But impossible to get the lid off!
Pattys from Illinois
With the 13 oz size, the lid is nearly impossible to remove from the canister. I had to whack it hard on the edge of the bathroom sink, which of course caused the nozzle of the spray to dislodge. But thankfully it popped right back on. Stop making the lid so dern tight!
Best one yet
Loveeeee from Ulta
I have used a lot of dry shampoos and this one is by far my favorite one!!
There's better, but it made me loose hair
Lola from California
Don't get me wrong, this does the job. I originally loved the product when I first bought it. Then I noticed I started getting bald spots in the front of my head. I did some research and turns out it was cause of this stuff. If you're thinking of buying, get a travel size and make sure you don't go bald!!!
hilly_wa from Corona
I used this only a handful of times because it gave me a rash and my hair started to fall out. I have used so many dry shampoos and that has never happened before. I don't even have sensitive skin/scalp. And I know it was the Batiste because within a week of discontinuing to use it, the red, dry and itchy patches started to go away.
Reminds me of hairspray my mom used in early 60's
Ziggy from WV
It smells like nothing but aerosol to me- Im super sensitive to smells as they trigger bad migraines. So I have tried a few different scents- but I think the aerosol is so overpowering - the scent just isnt there- but Ive forced myself to use this, since there has been such a big hype about it.
Just doesn't do anything for my hair!! Wish it did especially for the price point as a couple others I use are about 3x cost of Batiste
Not for me
Maria from Cleveland
If you have brown hair don't even bother, it literally looks like you are a 90 year old woman with grey hair after use. However I can tell it does what dry shampoo is meant to do, just is probably better suited for blondes
Loved it! My favorite dry shampoo!
Savvy from Lavale, Md
It doesn't leave your hair feeling like it has any product in it
