Most Helpful Positive Review The perfect dry shampoo for fine/oily hair! My hair type is extremely fine and straight. It can also be dry at the ends, but extremely oily at the roots the day after I wash it. I try to go as long as I can without washing it because I do color it and my ends are prone to breakage (especially in the winter). The Batiste dry shampoo is a dream come true for my hair!! I have posted photos of my hair at 4 days since I last washed it. My roots still look very clean! I do not look oily or greasy. I also love the Batiste Original because it gave my hair some texture and a lot of volume. I was able to put a little curl/wave in it, which is difficult for me to do. And my hair does not look flat, which is a feat! Additionally the smell of the Batiste is very nice. It's clean and not "perfume-y". I am very sensitive to overpowering smells and this is not overpowering at all. One thing I will note is that is does leave a residue on the scalp (which I have found with every dry shampoo), but it's not very heavy and it doesn't bother me. I found the Batiste Original to work perfectly for my fine, oily hair. I really love this product.
Most Helpful Critical Review It's Me, Not You My hair is straight and very, very fine. The only products I can get away with using on it dry are hairspray and the teeniest, teeniest bit of argan oil. Otherwise everything else just weighs it down. I also have to wash it every day (or every other day if i wear it down one day, up the next). I bough this in hopes of prolonging the time between washes, because it's obviously not good to wash your hair as much as i need to.
This isn't a bad product--i can see how it would work very well for some people. For me, it showed up a little dusty in my brown hair (which you can get rid of by massaging it in really well), but it also weighed it down a bit, as almost everything does.
Glad i tried it, but sadly this must go back. Ulta has a great return policy, so if you think you'd like it, try it! I think, unless your hair is a finicky as mine, you might just like it!

This is a very good dry shampoo: NO WHITE RESIDUE!! Leaves scalp and hair refreshed. Smells great.
What's with the bad reviews? 5

I guess everyone's hair is different but I will say, for MY hair, this is the best dry shampoo I've found so far. I've tried Living Proof and IGK and neither compares to this (much more affordable) option. If you rub it in, the white cast goes away. I don't have super dark hair but it's not blonde either. I LOVE this product.
Makes your hair crunchy and white residue gets EVERYWHERE 1
KC from LA
So I thought that people were over reacting about the white residue that this product leaves, because most dry shampoos do that at least little bit. This literally made my hair WHITE, and I have dyed black hair. Even if you only spray a small amount, It gets all over your clothes and room and lingers in the hair for hours after you use it, it feels like you're breathing in dust all day. I couldn't get it out of my clothes for days, it's like paint or something. Also that annoying aspect aside, it makes your hair SUPER dry and crunchy and leaves a ton of powder in your hair. I couldn't even run my fingers through it, the texture was like I had coated my hair in hairspray or something. There are definitely better dry shampoos out there that get the job done without covering you in powder.

Don't use this unless you have platinum or white/grey hair. This doesn't have just the typical dry shampoo dull effect, it literally looks like you painted your dark hair white! I couldn't believe it!! I literally had to spray over it with root spray to color it back in before i could leave the house!! I honestly think this would even look white on most blondes.

great for a teen who doesn't want to wash her hair everyday.
Original is BAD 1

So originally I found a different version Batiste dry shampoo on clearance at my local grocery store and it worked better than the thirty dollar dry shampoos I've tried & disliked. Apparently it was a limited edition, so I found this Original Clean & Classic to try but it is terrible. Left an awful whitecast and my hair felt SO extremely dry. And my scalp was still itchy. I'm going to give another option in the different style bottle a shot next. This one is going in the garbage
left my roots feeling awful! 1

I heard great things bout this dry shampoo… but I do not like it at all! i would not recommend this to anyone. I was trying to find a more affordable dry shampoo, my all time favorite dry shampoo is the redken deep clean. this dry shampoo just reminded me why it's my holy grail. I will not go for another option again! This dry shampoo left my hair feeling awful! it felt completely coated in residue and gritty and stiff. it did an okay job absorbing the oil, but the after feeling made it totally not worth it. the redken one absorbs all oil but leaves the scalp feeling fresh and clean as if I just washed it.
I would purchase this again 5

I use this to refresh my hair on the days I choose not to wash it. It gives it volume and a fresh scent.
absolute favorite dry shampoo brand 5
Ana from Los Angeles
this brand is my all time favorite when it comes to dry shampoo, I love the different scents , I'm not sure why so many people are reporting whitecast or that it runs out easily, idk how much they're using at once but I typically don't use too much , I apply little by little and brush it out until I get the desired look , it makes my hair look refreshed and takes away my oil , which is great for my bangs too because I tend to have an oily T-zone, I think other people might just be putting too much , if you apply it little by little I think it'll work out
LOVE LOVE LOVE 5

Leaves your hair feeling cleaner, no greasiness. Leaves no residue feels so light weight. Love the smell. Highly recommend.

I normally love this product but it essentially exploded the first time i used it. i had to take it outside as it wouldn't stop spraying until it was completely empty. I would say buy in person to ensure travel doesn't spoil it
Batiste dry shampoo 2
rachettt from Lawton
I bought this cause I was in need of dry shampoo but it leaves my hair looking white so I have to rub it in or wet it to get out the white out. And I honestly did like the smell but that was just my personal opinion. Overall it works, but it leaves your hair white and I really dislike that.
WORST WHITECAST EVER 1
Sam from Belleville
I truly do not understand why this brand is so popular ITS HORRIBLE. It smells disgusting, 1 can is done after 5 uses, and it leaves such a terrible whitecast. It literally looks like you just dumped a bottle of baby powder on the top of your head. I'm convinced the majority of the good reviews comes from the company itself. Don't waste your money on this junk
I would by this product again. 5

It's nice to have this Dry Shampoo to extend the time between washing my hair. Preserving my color.
The best dry shampoo, period! 5
Conner from Ohio
I have used several brands of dry shampoo from NOT Your Mothers to Living Proof and Dry Bar and all though some were good..it always came back to the higher price point being an issue. I'm picky on dry shampoo because I don't want any residue or scalp residue to occur or be left behind or visable for that matter, I don't want it to make my scalp itchy as some can because of the buildup, blend out easily in scalp with fingers or brush, be able to notice an actual difference with oil absorption, make my hair feel and smell cleaner and be cheap..until I used BATISSE Original Dry Shampoo. This dry shampoo does it all..outstanding product for the price! I have no complaints or issues and love everything that this dry shampoo does for my hair. I have 2a blonde color treated hair that goes back and forth between dryer and oily more near scalp. I can easily get an extra 2 maybe 3 days is I had too with using this Dry Shampoo...so glad I finally broke down and tried it!!

This is unlike any other dry shampoo I've ever used. It makes your hair feel so light and fresh. It literally feels like I just washed it.
I would buy this merchandise again and again! 5

Misleading sizes 1
Britt from Missouri
The sizes are now incorrect. Since the new design, they have made the quantities less, but Ulta has not updated their quantitative to show the new sizing.
The new product 1
KR from AZ
I like the product itself. However, the new design packaging has only 4.23 oz in it. The old packaging (same physical size, BTW) had 6.73 oz. The option says you're selecting 6.73 oz, but Zoom in on the product pic and you'll see the new size. Same price, but less product. They think they're slick. No thanks.
Not great 1

Still leaves my hair looking oily, even with as much or as little as I put. Still the same result
Leaves hair with waxy buildup after shampooing 1
Papa Blaze from Los Angeles, CA
This dry shampoo is easy to use, spray roots and brush out. I've noticed that after I use this dry shampoo and wash my hair it leaves a weird waxy buildup and makes my roots appear greasy and dirty even after multiple washes, the only way to avoid that is by no longer using the product. That being said, I won't be using this product anymore.
Doesn't Do Anything 3
MP from Kansas City
I followed the instructions (even watched some YouTube videos) but this product just doesn't get rid of oily hair. The spray goes everywhere making a mess
not for girls with curls 2
CurlyHairDontCare from Florida
I have naturally curly hair and was looking for a new dry shampoo (the last one I tried had a strong scent). This one works well, but left my hair white. Being curly brushing wasn't an option - remember Monica's hair in Jamaica from the humidity? Yeah - that's what brushing curls looks like - lol! I tried rubbing it in near my roots but there was still a fair amount of white on my hair.
I think if you have brushable hair you could blend the white out with a hairbrush. If you've got curls it might not be a good choice for you.
I wouldn't buy this again 1

Well if your looking to start your hair aflame, this is the product for you! Please read the ingredients and think twice about inhaling this product!!
tip: spray, wait 2 min, brush it out really good. 5
Saba from GA
a youtuber has a video with tips and that worked awesome. Pull hair apart. spray sides and under the crown. Leave it for 2 min and then brush, brush, brush really good. Style asusual. I curl ends with hair straightener and loved how it turned out.
