I absolutely never leave review on products. Perhaps a bit hypocritical because I always refer to said reviews in helping determine whether I should purchase product-so my review is as follows. This Verb Glossy shampoo and conditioner are both garbage. After first use, whilst drying my hair, I actua...

My go to shampoo/conditioner

Okay I'll say it, the reviews on how hard it is get out of the bottles because it's so thick are TRUE. That is the one annoying drawback. But this is super "it" for me. Verb definitely seems more oriented towards um, European, hair types, and mines kind of a mix of textures because both my parents are mixed with various things. I was EXTREMELY nervous buying this when reading alll the bad reviews, but I wanted some more shine to my hair. The Ghost line worked passably well but the hair oil fell totally flat for me. I was crazy disappointed because it was SO hyped. So i figured my hair could probably "take it" and committed to the regular size shampoo and comditioner. Now I wait for the jumbo sale every year so I can pick up the big bottles, and during the recent shampoo/conditioner sale i got smaller bottles because my hair is VERY long, and I wanted to have "my" brand with me because travel bottles are like a one and done with me. It doesn't leave my hair feeling heavy or greasy at all, and the conditioner isn't even as moisturizing as the mask packs/hair oils i use religiously. It just makes it feel nice, clean, and soft. No scalp buildup or anything. I like to go for higher end products because my hair health and length is super important to me, and I've just stayed with this stuff because it works for me. I even got hooked on some products from a more expensive line because I've been wanting to get on the "bonding" formulas so I can avoid having to cut it, and ended up coming back to the Verb Glossy after trying their shampoo/conditioner. It SADLY doesn't give "glossy" unfortunately. But it's what I know works for me and I'm hesitant to stray away from that with the price points on good haircare products. I did recently pick up the glossy spray/heat protectant stuff and am excited to see if it gives "shine" on days I wear it down and straightened. Normally I'm a braids girl, and this absolutely manages the kinky/frizzy mess on wash day. I can't say if I'd recommend it to a friend because i really think it depends on your hair type. Mine is still reasonably thin/fine despite having random textured patches, and I don't know if this would even be "enough" for thicker, coarser, or coily hair. But it personally works GREAT for me, and I love it.

Use with caution

I'll preface this by saying that I know allergies can vary greatly from person to person. However, I'm writing this review as a potential warning to others who may have a reaction similar to mine. I have mildly sensitive skin. It tends to be very dry and I have struggled with perioral dermatitis for many years (it is now well controlled). I have NEVER had eczema. Over the month or so of using the VERB Glossy Shampoo/Conditioner, I developed progressively worsening eczema and swelling on my face and neck. I attributed it to a new face serum that I had tried, but the swelling and redness continued to worsen even after I stopped using it. It took me a while to make the association between the shampoo and the reaction because I never had any symptoms on my scalp. After 2 days of stopping use, my skin has already improved tremendously and begun to heal. As for the actual function of the product, I felt that this shampoo/conditioner fell short. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything to write home about. It made my hair feel kind of heavy, and I did not notice any improvement in the shine. It definitely wasn't worth what my skin had to go through. I'll go back to my Matrix 'Food For Soft' shampoo/conditioner. I have attached photos of the progression of my symptoms, as well as photos of my skin after I stopped using the product.

Very disappointed

I was really excited to try this GLOSSY line. I have loved every other Verb product that I have ever tried...so why would this be any different? We'll, it was. I have long, 2b hair. Its not "thick"...but its definitely not fine either. The shampoo doesn't lather...and the conditioner doesnt feel like it is conditioning anything. And never mind all of that...there is the scent. It literally smells like that big bucket of school glue paste you used in grammar school. The thick kind you had to take out of the container with a wooden ruler. Glue...it smells like glue. The GLOSSY spray doesnt work either. It left my hair feeling crunchy. Not soft. Not shiny. I actually have pretty shiny hair to begin with. I felt like this actually DULLED my hair more than it did add any more shine to it. I even tried using different amounts of the spray on different occasions, in case I had been using too much, or too little. No difference. Now the bottles just sit in my bathroom. They cost too much money to just throw away.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

Product thick. Bottle thick.

Not my favorite conditioner. Product was very thick. Had a hard time getting out of the bottle. I tried everything to get the remainder of the product out. Finally had to cut the bottom open to get the last 2-3 ounces out. I doubt many people would go to that trouble and would waste a lot of conditioner.
