I purchased this originally thinking it was a facial moisturizer. When I realized that wasn't the case, I was worried to put it on my face because I have oily, acne prone skin and didn't want to exacerbate the condition. However, I applied it anyway and was pleasantly surprised how much my skin improved. My skin has become less textured, my breakouts have decreased, and the redness has significantly subsided. I also find that my skin is less oily than it was when I was using a gel moisturizer marketed for oily skin.
This Cerave container is also very large when used only on the face, so I suspect I'll have this for over 6 months when used once a day. I have used dozens of facial moisturizers over the years (gel, lotion, acne-fighting, thick cream, etc.) and this was has beat them all, including my previous high-end Korean brand. I will definitely repurchase this when I run out.
**Small suggestion: I recommend you purchase the Moisturizing Cream that comes with the pump. I find half a pump to be more than enough for my whole face. The pump stops me from accidentally using too much product, plus it's more hygienic this way.
A dedicated Cetaphil user (and pusher😉) for years, I must admit I was extremely swayed by the advertisements for CeraVe when it came out. And the ingredients still sound impressive, surely ceramides and hyaluronic acid will do more for my skin than petrolatum and sweet almond oil, right? Wrong. I was so disappointed in this product. Initially I was so excited that I decided maybe I could go with the lotion formulation, save some time and maybe even use "normal lotion" like my friends! Wrong again. But that's a different review. So, I bumped myself up to the cream thinking that a thicker, more concentrated version would do the trick. Honestly the only positive that comes to mind for me is that you can purchase this cream with a pump. And I do appreciate that— I wish other brands would find a way to follow suit. It's quicker, more sanitary and keeps some ingredients more stable/effective. Apologies to readers looking for quick info, I'm hoping other brands do their research via Reviews. About CeraVe's cream, I can only imagine that those on the nearest to oily end of "Normal to Dry Skin" end of the spectrum would be the ones to benefit from this product. If you have dry skin, at all, and I mean even the need for something a little extra for your elbows or feet you will be sorely disappointed with this product. I've applied it to damp skin fresh out of the shower, and an hour later "as needed." Even doubling down like that didn't give any noticeable results, aside from noticing that my skin was nearly as dry as if I hadn't treated it at all. And lest anyone think I'm just a CeraVe-hater, I will go off topic (again) to say that I'm a big fan of their PM facial lotion. In fact, I'm never without a backup bottle of that product! Bottom line? This cream is not suitable for those with dry skin.

I haven't and wouldn't use this on my face (I have sensitive combination skin prone to irritation). But, I got this specifically to help with very dry, itchy winter skin. I also have small spots of excema on my hands. This cream made such a difference after just the first use! It's absolutely what I was looking for (something unscented, long lasting, and with serious moisturizing properties). It's a heavier cream, so a little goes a long way. It absorbs pretty quickly and doesn't leave skin greasy. I'll definitely be using this daily from now on.

with the cold fall and winter months my skin was getting really dry and cracky and no moisturizer was helping. I tried this and it saved my skin seriously the best. Pretty thick but blends out easy and doesn't feel heavy

This is perfect for very dry sensitive skin. Moisture actually lasts and makes skin feel and look hydrated. Definitely a thick cream so if you're not a fan of that I wouldn't recommend you get this product. But, for me I need a thick cream as my skin is severely dry.

Ant chapped or dry skin will have moisture restored in first use. Continued use only makes your skin better.

I have dry, sensitive, fair skin and was looking for a heavy weight moisturizer that made my face feel less stiff and dry…this moisturizer was not the answer. It was super light weight, left a weird feeling residue on my face, and slightly irritated my skin as soon as I put it on. I let it sit on my face for thirty minutes before starting my makeup, trying to still give it a chance, but my makeup was pilling around my forehead and nose. So as as face moisturizer…zero stars. I recommend the fresh rose deep hydration face cream if you have sensitive/dry skin…on the pricey side but a little goes a long way and it lasts me forever.
HOWEVER, had a terrible eczema breakout on my hands from cold weather and put this on after I took a shower and my hands were less red, irritated, and cracking in 15 minutes. So not a total waste!!

I use this product every morning and night! The cream version is way more moisturizing than the lotion and it helped my skin combat the dryness of winter.

With a formulation like this, I'd never jump in and use this on my face and expect good results despite the claim that it can be used as a facial moisturizer. Don't let the bad reviews of people immediately going in with this as a face cream fool you. When it comes to a body cream... I loved this immediately. I needed a fragrance free, heavy, extremely moisturizing cream for my body during these winter months. My skin gets drier and itchier and tight after showering, especially with my psoriasis flare ups. I instantly felt relief of my problematic winter skin, it absorbed well and there was no greasy or slimy residue. Best purchase I've had in a while. I look forward to moisturizing my body with this. If you need a heavy moisturizer for your face, I would look elsewhere for something specifically formulated for facial skin, especially if it's needing this heavy of hydration's. For the body, this works amazing wonders and blew my expectations out of the water. It's barely been any time at all and I can't get enough. A little goes a long way, great value, great texture. Holy grail body cream for all around hydration and added bonus of relief for those with eczema/psoriasis!

Bought this after hearing so much about it. I tried using it on my face but it is sooooo thick and heavy. I feel like it just sits on top of my skin without absorbing in at all. It also leaves my skin feeling kinda sticky??? Not sure why so many people love it. I just use it for my body now because I can't stand the feeling of it on my face.

This is a really well-formulated, no-frills body and face moisturizer. Like all Cerave products, it's got ceramides, which help keep the skin's moisture barrier strong and provide anti-aging benefits. There's also hyaluronic acid to aid with hydration. This cream is fragrance-free, making it suitable for those with sensitive skin. The only thing I don't like about this product is that it's kind of sticky. Not horribly so, but noticeable enough. I like the brand's lotion for body and face more. Other than that, I have no real critique. It moisturizes well and isn't ridiculously expensive.

I got this ignoring the bad reviews in hopes it would work for my face but it clogged my pores in only two times of using it. Gonna try jajoba oil and aloe instead. Just going to use it for my body now.

I bad eczema during seasonal changes, if I eat the wrong thing, or sometimes from stress. This is the only stuff that helps. I actually use this on my face and the SA stuff on my body, and I love it! This actually got me to finally switch from La Mer. Something I never thought I would do! It's thick and creamy, not greasy, and quenches my skin!

I have extremely dry skin have tried a plethora of moisturizer from every price point. This has been a real game changer and I love the price point! My only complaint is I wished it absorb a little better but I have no intention of using anything else.

Totally fragrance-free, whipped moisturizer perfect for slathering on in the fall and winter when I get dry patches. Feels light on the skin, not greasy at all.

Solid nighttime cream for me.

I have really sensitive skin on my legs especially and this didn't irritate my skin at all. It made my skin soft and lasts a long time for using it on my whole body after every shower.

I was so excited to try this cream because I was hoping it could replace the FAB Ultra Repair cream but it sadly didn't. I wasn't expecting it to be AS GOOD but I was expecting it to at least hydrate and moisturize my face but I think I could reapply this cream 100 times a day and still not feel any relief for my super dry cheeks. It completely disappears after 20 minutes and I can feel my face drying up. Very disappointed.

I have loved this since the very first use. it moisturizes for 24 hours, and I can feel that Im washing it off in the shower. I use this head to toe. My feet all the way up to my under eyes. Sometimes over my face moisturizer to keep out the environment (I cut hair so it stays on enough to catch products flying on my skin). Sometimes over my night cream. I LOVE THIS

This cream can be used from head to toe. I apply as my facial moisturizer and it doesn't break me out or make my skin feel oily. It heals any dry skin on your body including cracked heels. Great for my baby who has eczema. No frills, low price, it works!
Maya from Seattle
This moisturizer is thick and really soaks in, instead of just sitting on top of the skin. I have been using this for about a week now and my skin is soft and smooth. I have combination to oily skin and this does not make my skin greasy at all. I also use this before applying my makeup and I have no complaints. Try it out for yourself you won't be disappointed. Plus there's ceramides to add that extra barrier to protect the skin.

This moisturizer has a fascinating ability to be super rich yet non-greasy. It does not have any oils in it, so it will not give you a greasy/shiny look. Instead, it uses petrolatum as a strong occlusive. This moisturizer has a velvety finish, almost matte. It is very very long lasting too. I apply this at night on my neck/body and when I shower the next night (24 hours later) I can still feel this on my skin.
My only complaint is that I wish they would've added niacinamide to this. Yes, I know it's in the PM moisturizer but I am confused why they wouldn't have gone ahead and added it to this cream. SUCH a huge bummer. It would be a 10/10 for me if it had it.

I bought this as a quick add on in the winter for dry skin. I really didn't start using until the summer time. This cream is amazing. Probably the best cream I have ever used and I have used expensive brands. It doesn't have a fragrance, absorbs right into your skin, and hydrates like crazy. It also has helped my crepey skin above my knees. All for under $20. If you haven't tried this cream, do yourself a favor and get some. You won't be disappointed!

This stuff is amazing and simple. Makes travel a breeze because I can get a smaller size and use the same moisturizer for face and body. I credit this moisturizer and a simple, consistent routine to helping clear my hormonal acne. Love this stuff!

i have pretty dry sensitive skin but also a pretty oily t zone and this worked great for me. it didn't break me out at all and left me feeling very moisturized. a little goes a long way and it takes a little while to set in so i would recommend waiting a little while after the application to put anything over it. it lasted me a while.
