Most Helpful Positive Review Lightweight Sponge
I like this sponge a lot. The color is a pretty blue and it is so light and fluffy to the touch. I don't typically wear foundation, but I do wear concealer on my chin every day to cover up redness. I tested out blending my cancelers and BB cream with this sponge with positive results.
I typically start by using a color correcting green face primer on my red spots. I normally use my fingers to blend this out, but I used this sponge instead. I applied my primer to my face and blended it out in seconds with a good even coverage. I then grabbed my concealer and dabbed it on my face (as it has a doe foot applicator) and then blended it out with the sponge as well. For this I typically use a stippling brush to try to get a blended and natural finish. In both cases I found the sponge easier to use. I spent less time blending the products out and I got a very natural finish.
I also tested this sponge with a BB cream I applied all over my face. I started by dabbing the bb cream straight to my face and blending it out with the sponge. The sponge was great for getting under my eyes and on my nose. It created a nice even blend of product and was very simple to use.
Overall I really liked this sponge. I haven't really used them much in the past, but this has changed my mind! It made applying makeup easy and quick.
Most Helpful Critical Review Meh
This sponge is underwhelming to me. It's a different foam texture than I'm used to with these types of blenders. Feels kind of cheap. It applied my makeup but no miracles have been worked. Nothing special here...

I had these for about a week and it's already tearing apart. I have bought less expensive ones that have lasted longer.

This sponge has changed my life. This is the perfect sponge for light layers and full coverage alike. I think the discrepancy between so many reviews either being 5 or 1 stars is due to skin condition and type. For oily, acne prone and scarred skin - this does something amazing. It is so soft, bouncy and moldable that I feel like larger pores within it deliver a "stippling" effects that allows products to be blended beautifully into texture. Dry or dehydrated skin may not like this for that reason. It may bring flakes to the surface with the larger pore size of the sponge "clinging" onto the skin. However, for my oily and acne prone / scarred skin - I'm never buying a beauty blender again. Because of the fluid texture (it is SO much softer than a BB) I feel I can blend my concealer in ways around the delicate eye area so much better than with any other tool. 5 stars for me
Stick with the original

This soaked up so much product. Tried it dry as recommended and damp as well. Both super cakey looking. I don't feel like it blends at all. The orange one is way better!
Don't hate it, but I don't love it.

I'm not really sure how I feel about this sponge. Regardless of whether I used it dry or wet, this is what I came up with.
- Very squishy and moldable
- I can really get into the inner corners of my eyes and by my nostrils
- Blends liquid foundations very nicely
- Didn't seem to absorb too much product
- Lifts foundation when I tried to blend my blush or contour in, which in turn made me look patchy
- I've only used it for a week, and somehow it has started flaking chunks off??
Sadly, I feel the cons outweigh the pros. so, I want be purchasing again. I'll switch back to my good old Juno & Co sponge.

It soaked it all in my foundation

Doesn't soak/pick up as much product as the orange sponge, in my opinion. I use it wet. I like to use the two together though, this one first, then the orange one to smooth any rough edges. Would recommend < 3

Love this sponge! Works like a dream for my textured skin! I'll definitely be stocking up on these just in case RT decides to discontinue them! (Please don't!!)
Great for powder

I really like this sponge but for powders only. It does not work on liquid. I use it dry when I apply powder.

This was just ok, I wouldn't buy it again.
Flaked onto skin
Claire from Illinois
After I applied my foundation, flakey sponge residue was left all over my face! Not worth the hype, save your money🥴
Wasn't that great

Wasn't that great to me felt like it soaked up all my foundation and concealer!!
Wish I could give it negative 5

Feels cheap. I used it dry and it absorbed a lot of product then didn't smooth well at all. I thought getting it damp would help - NOPE! That made it start flaking and peeling to pieces. Only one use. Total garbage.

I bought this sponge because I thought it was like the orange one but its different it doesn't work with liquid product so the only way I can use it is to set my makeup with powder.

Not what I like
Not for dry skin or tinted moisturizers
Shelby from Portland, OR
I bought this sponge thinking it was the same as the regular orange beauty blenders that I love so much because I couldn't feel the texture through the package.
Since I was using a tinted moisturizer the sponge soaked up a great deal of my product, it did an ok job applying but I prefer a more dewy finish. This left my skin way more matte than I like

This sponge is the best I've used. It is about half as dense as a regular beauty blender so it can really mold to your skin. I have textured skin from acne and acne scars. With normal sponges I always felt like product would either get built up in the "craters" or no product at all would get down there. This sponge has fixed that issue because it is so soft that it can flex around the highs and lows of my skin. 1000/10 recommend.

The worst sponge
Hate this sponge! Horrible!

Curious to try this new sponge. Apparently for medium to full coverage. The material texture and the whole sponge is soooo cheap!!!! Literally I feel like this came from one of those cheap old mattress cushions! Does not build, not blendable and does not make my foundation look good at all I honestly don't know why this sponge was even invented! It's horrible! Don't waste your money on this!
This doesn't even deserve 1 star but it wouldn't let me leave no stars!
Wonderful for foundation and tinted moisturizer

This is such a clean, easy way to blend facial makeup. It is so much cleaner and more sanitary than using my fingers. Also, the shape is wonderful for blending in tight areas such as my nose and lips.
Only recommend for baking
Ehh from Riverside
This sponge absorbs way too much product and there's no need to dampen the sponge because it doesn't even get bigger. Felt like straight up memory foam on my face. I will say it does apply powders nice but that's it
Deja from Texas
I've been using the sponge for about a month now and it's really good. If I had saw these bad reviews before I bought the sponge, I wouldn't have got it but I'm so glad I didn't see the comments till now.
Probably not Buying this again.
Blaine from Covington TN
This sponge seemed to absorb a lot more product than I used, and made my foundation patchy. Eventually it did blend out, but I am not a huge fan.
Sarah from Michigan
I have used many Real Techniques sponges over the years, but this one is by far my favorite. The texture of this sponge is very different, which may be why it works so much better. I mainly use this one for under eye concealer and to hide blemishes. It blends matte and opaque. I will definitely repurchase this sponge when mine wears out!
Best sponge I've ever used
Makeup artist from Florida
I use this product for wet and dry makeup application. I use this sponge without dampening the sponge for my concealer, then I will use a loose power with the sponge. The sponge isn't too dense so it applies beautifully. My jaw dropped my first time.
