It can be applied directly onto clean skin or over top of moisturizer. Oily skin types will not need to use this with a moisturizer. If skin requires more moisture, apply MAC Mineralize Timecheck Lotion on top of moisturizer after it has completely dried down. It evens out the complexion, the texture looks smoother, and it blurs visible lines and wrinkles. It is infused with MAC Charged Water Technology which replenishes lost moisture and activates skin for better hydration and MAC Multi-Mineral Complex which helps nourish the skin. This product was recently recommended to me and I am wondering if it is best to use in place of a primer AND a moisturizer before applying my foundation, or if it is meant more to be used just as a primer over the top of my daily moisturizer? I am oily and don't want to cause breakouts. Thanks!!

I really like this as a primer. I feel that it provides a matte finish, so it's nice even without makeup on over it. I don't notice any particular scent (and I can be pretty picky about smells), and I don't think it's sticky at all. I do agree with other reviewers about the bottle though. There's always more in there after it stops coming out of the pump, and you have to remove the top to try and get all of it out.

This is the only primer I use! The best!
Great as primer!
Personally, I use this as a day time primer/moisturizer hybrid. It's thick and hydrating, and definitely smoothes out the skin. If youre drier skin and are having issues with it not sitting well under make up, I'd advise doing an exfoliation first. My skin appeared super plump and smooth according to a few customers I've encountered with while working. Only down side is that there is fragrance on the bottom of the ingredient list.
