Hello! The Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil is a lightweight makeup-removing oil cleanser that leaves skin soft and replenished. Q
Is Kiehl's products and this cleansing oil gluten free? Thanks
Asked by Pen
Official Answer By Kiehl's - BE
Hi there! Most ingredients derived from grain sources are highly refined and retain no traces of gluten proteins. For less refined ingredients from natural sources, [brand name] has established strict limits on the level of potentially allergenic proteins. Since individuals exhibit a wide range of sensitivities to these proteins, if you have any questions or concerns you should discuss with your medical care provider. All the ingredients we use in a product are listed on the package or the label of the product itself. For products too small to accommodate the list, a separate ingredient list is available on the display unit in the store for your convenience. Since some ingredients are known by more than one name, we use the standard industry FDA-recognized names. A review of the ingredients that are listed on all of our products or packages will alert you to the presence of this type of ingredient. We hope this helps! Was this answer helpful to you

Fabulously unexpected!

What an absolutely fantastic product! I got it in a great little sample pack of all Keihl's products. I was apprehensive to use it, as I have never used an oil as a face wash before. However, after recently starting to use retinol, my skin has been dry and peeling, and I was willing to use anything ...

Don't understand the rave reviews

I don't understand how so many people think this product is great. I've been using it since June and haven't been able to get over the weird, rancid-like smell it has. I can smell the "botanical" aspect, but there's also something really funny about it, and it's not good. This product will remove ...

It's a great makeup remover

It works perfectly at getting off makeup, especially mascara. Four stars because, for an oil, it did dry my skin out a bit. I'll continue to use it to see if continued use will change that or not.

Splurge!

Submitted 3 years ago

I really love this Cleansing Oil! It's most definitely a splurge item for me because it's a bit pricey, but very nice to use. The smell is relaxing and the oils in this do not irritate my sensitive skin whatsoever. What surprised me the most was that it really is a deep cleansing oil. After applying a salicylic acid lotion to my skin before the gym, I used this to remove it afterwards and I was shook at how many blackheads, and CC's this oil pulled out. I honestly thought my skin WAS pretty unclogged! I massaged it into my dry skin for about 2-3 minutes before I could feel all the grit being released. Kept massaging for about 10 total for a good cleansing. I have skin that gets congested easily, and oil cleansing helps so much. I absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for an oil cleanser. It is a thin oil so I like to use 5 pumps to ensure I'm using enough to saturate my skin. I choose not to use it as a makeup remover because it is so expensive and I feel like I need to use a lot to break down the makeup. That could just be me. As a double cleanse or deep oil cleanse… this is really great! Soft skin. No irritation.

Best cleansing oil

I use this Kiehl cleansing oil for my evening routine. It does the best job of removing make up and daily oil/pollutants. After working 3 pumps into skin, I rinse it off with warm water. Then I use a Cerave cleanser.

I bought this to remove make up before using my daily cleanser. I needed something super gentle but would remove makeup, especially mascara. This does a great job doing that without scrubbing. Would also be a great daily cleanser if you're looking for a non drying cleanser. I just needed a little something extra.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
