Q&A

Showing 3 out of 3 Questions
Q
I am going back and forth between this one and the 1" platinum straightener. I have a 1" GHD now, but my daughters taking it to college and was going to do 2" plates for longer thicker hair. Can you twll me if the platinum one is bettwr for hair, especially because I color my hair blonde every 4/6 weeks and it can get dry and frizzy. Would the platinum be better?

Official Answer By Ghd - Brand Engage
Hi There, for long, thick hair the max styler would be a great choice since it has wider plates. All stylers work at 365 so they are great for colored or highlighted hair. Was this answer helpful to you

Does this use infrared heat?

Official Answer By Ghd - Brand Engage
None of our stylers deliver far-infrared heat. The ghd Max Styler has our ghd dual-zone technology. All our ghd stylers heat up to the optimum styling temperature of 365°F – a safer for hair heat. Was this answer helpful to you

It's a Great Product with a Short Life Span

It was the best flat iron I've owned in my life. The look, the quality, the case, everything about it is aesthetically beautiful. The only caveat is that it died on me all of a sudden for no reason. I wasn't a heavy user because I know flat iron damage hair so I don't know why it died after about a ...

Doesn't work if you have thick hair.

I have very thick dark hair, not afro but just a lot of hair. Having said that, i have no problems using a curling iron and can get all of it done in 10 min. With this, first of all I could hear my hair burning, and it didn't even make it straight, leaving the ends look thin and overall, frizzy.

Fine while it lasted but not worth the money. Way too expensive to not last several years. Red light came on with no explanation

Doesn't Last Long

I would not purchase this again. It's not worth the cost. It does an okay job at straightening. Nothing great. What is NOT great is that it lasted under 3 years. Just long enough for the warranty to expire. I had a straightener from a different brand that lasted forever. Just ordered a new one but would never order this brand again.

Only one temperature option

Take in consideration it's only one temp! You can't change it! I missed this con and had to turn it off and unplug it before straightening my baby hairs upfront. Last 2 years which i expected better considering the price.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

I have thick curly hair. This straightener was okay for it. I'm not sure if it saved me time because my hair was never fully straight. But it just died after only two years use - too expensive for that, and I regret buying

it used to take me like 2 hours to straighten my hair but with this straightener at most it takes me 20-30 min but my only concern is I can't change the heat setting n my hair smells burnt after n i put heat protection n only do one pass n put on oil after n my hair is thick n wavy i js wish the heat was changeable but overall it's a good straightener if you only straighten it sometimes
