Will this product get rid of my closed comedones AND get rid of my acne scars and hyperpigmentation? If so, is it gentle, and how long would it take?
- Asked by Betishu
- Official Answer By The Ordinary - Brand EngageHi there! Mandelic Acid 10% + HA is one of our gentlest exfoliants. While regular, gentle exfoliation can support overall skin clarity, you may also wish to explore Salicylic Acid 2% Anhydrous Solution. For concerns like hyperpigmentation or post-acne marks, Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA or Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner may be helpful options. Please note that exfoliants like Mandelic, Salicylic, and Glycolic acids should be used in separate routines to avoid over-exfoliation.Was this answer helpful to you

Is this product okay to use with a moisturizer with vitamin C in it?
- Asked by Q
- Official Answer By The Ordinary - Brand EngageHi there! Unfortunately, it is difficult for us to comment on the pairing of our products with those of other brands and/or prescription medications. We recommend consulting with your doctor/dermatologist, gradually incorporating one new product into your regimen at a time, and applying test patches first to see what works best for your skin. <3Was this answer helpful to you

Real Talk
Let's be honest about skin care products. None of them are the miracle cure they claim. But not all products are just snake oil either. I have the fortunate of having a friend who has a chemistry degree and worked at several cosmetic companies, including some with very expensive products. She has to...

They are almost there...but are missing the mark
This product does absolutely sit on top of the skin and does not absorb. I feel that most of the product ends up on my pillowcase. I feel "oily" after using it, and it still has not absorbed into my skin by the time I actually roll over and fall asleep, which is about 2 hours after I put it on. I...

Great intro to AHA for sensitive skin

I use this once a week by mixing a few drops with The ordinary hyaluronic acid serum making it easier to spread. It I like how my face feels smoother and renewed overnight. It is my very first AHA for my sensitive dry skin and I haven't had issues since I use it only once a week.
The perfect acid!

Absolutely love this stuff. This sweet elixir has the perfect level of gentle exfoliation that I use it pretty much every day. When I wake up my skin looks hydrated and... fresh. Like a day at the spa. People have been commenting on how bright and glowy my skin has been looking (likely a double whammy as I am also using the vitamin c suspension).

I'm on my third bottle now. This formulation has all non-comedogenic ingredients. While it's very gentle on the skin, it does the job. I use it every night followed by a moisturizer and this has helped reduce my active acne bumps and marks to a great extent without any side effects. No, It doesn't cure acne but does help manage it. Overall, one of the best sensitive skin AHA exfoliators out there.
Amazing
I was getting a new type of breakout, and this clears it right up. It's the best, i don't go without it!! I also use it on my bikini area after waxing to help with ingrowns and discoloration. So many benefits in one tiny bottle!
Love the feeling!

I did not have much luck with Glycolic Acid or Salicylic Acid 2% Solution, but Mandelic for the win! I love how fresh my face feels the mornings after using it. I don't get an oily feel like some have. I wasn't looking to treat a specific problem just needed an AHA in my routine. This will definitely stay in my line up.
