- Q
Is this silicone free?
- Asked by Dre
- Official Answer By L'Oréal - Brand EngageHi There! We appreciate your interest in our Magic Anti-Redness BB cream. Silicones are used in some cosmetic products due to their unique sensory benefits and properties, such as long-lasting effects in lipstick. They also provide shine and softness in shampoo and other hair care products. The silicones we use allow us to achieve a wide range of textures and a high level of product performance, especially in terms of shine and lightness. Scientific evidence does not suggest that hair products containing silicones have a negative impact on scalp health (greasing or other undesirable effects), nor are they comedogenic. As with every fatty acid from mineral or natural origin, silicones are non-comedogenic when used in an appropriate dose in cosmetic products. To identify silicones in our products, look at the ingredients list on the packaging. They can be found under names such as DIMETHICONE, CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, DIMETHICONOL, PHENYL TRIMETHICONE, AMODIMETHICONE, and CYCLOMETHICONE. NOT Universal Shade
I wish I would have read the fine print more closely--I would have been skeptical of the "universal shade" and for good reason. I usually wear the second-darkest shades of most foundation.(My best match is Covergirl Clean in 110). This is about 2 shades too dark for me and extremely yellow. It takes...

I fell victim to a blog article swearing this was a miracle peoduct for ALL skintones. I feel most people suffering with redness issues have fairskin so its beyond me why this oompa loopma orange cream would be a solution! If you have a yellow darker medium skin tone this would be a good solution for a non foundation coverage- however a redness coverup for ALL skin tones this is not. Looks like cheap self tanner.

Blends out very tan, nowhere near my skin tone
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
Let's be clear - I was loyal to this BB cream for a VERY long time. It was my holy grail foundation. I was incensed that I spent so much money trying out big-name foundations only to discover that a drugstore tube of green goo worked miracles on me that nothing else could. Fast-forward to this week. I broke open a new tube of my tried and true favorite while getting ready for a show I was performing in. I noticed immediately that it looked a little off, but brushed it off and assumed it just needed a good blending. Several rounds of blending and dabbing later, and I was as orange as an oompa loompa. Still, I blamed myself. "Did I set this wrong? Did I use the wrong primer?" I dotted a bit on the back of my hand, swirled and blended it a bit, and was horrified to see it turn a 2008 Jersey Shore-esque shade of orange-tan. "Maybe it's a fluke, maybe I got a bad tube," I thought, as I desperately cracked open the second tube that I so stupidly and naively ordered. Alas, just another tube of botched spray tan disguised as a problem-solving cosmetic product. I don't know what changed, but this is not the product I fell in love with. I would give my first born up for the old formula, not this tangerine travesty that would make even the orange guy in office shudder.
Orange is what they consider "universal"
Unless you want a fake tan look, do not buy this. I didn't realize it would turn my face orange and be extremely hard to wash off (3 washes with face cleanser and normal soap).
Yes, give me give me
I love this cream so much, it matches every time and feel great on my skin, only issue i have is that it does not come in a bigger bottle, well if it does i havent found it
