Q
What does the Shea & vitamin E smell like? And the blackberry & black tea?
Asked by Verena
Official Answer By Jack Black
Thanks for asking! Shea & Vitamin E doesn't have much of a smell, but some say it smells lightly sweet. Black Tea & Blackberry has a subtle herbal scent and notes of stone fruit and plum. Hope that helps and please let us know if you have any other questions! Was this answer helpful to you
Q
What is the best flavor
Asked by BB
Official Answer By Jack Black
Hi there, Thanks for asking! Natural Mint is our most popular flavor, but we at the JB office are partial to Pineapple Mint. Both are included in the Ultamint Lip Duo!Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Is this sticky? I've used lip treatments before that are super sticky and my lips clap.
Asked by Iris
Official Answer By Jack Black
Hi there, Intense Therapy Lip Balm isn't sticky or waxy. Just make sure you're applying a thin layer and not applying too much. Hope that helps and please let us know if you have any other questions! Was this answer helpful to you
Q
I am sensitive to tastes and scents, and get migraines from unnatural ingredients that are consumed. Is there one that comes without flavor or scent? How long does the lip balm last on the skin. Does it sink in or sit on top?
Asked by Danielle
Official Answer By Jack Black
Hi there, Thanks for asking! We do not have an Intense Therapy Lip Balm without any flavor whatsoever, but Shea Butter & Vitamin E is the closest. The lip balm sits on top of the skin for a bit but does sink in. If it's not sinking in after about 10 minutes, we'd recommend a lighter application of the product. Hope that helps! Was this answer helpful to you
Q

Q
would this work best over or under lipstick? or should it not be used with anything?
Asked by Tannah
Official Answer By Jack Black
Hi there, Thanks for asking! You can apply Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25 either over or under lipstick, but it typically works best under lipstick so it doesn't make it smudge or affect staying power. Hope that helps! Was this answer helpful to you

Q
Hi! I've been trying to find a lip serum with SPF that doesn't turn into straight liquid in my beach bag. Do you know how this will stand up to hot temps?
Asked by Courtney
Official Answer By Jack Black
Hi there, Thanks for asking! One of the key ingredients in Intense Therapy Lip Balm is Petrolatum, so it will melt a bit in hot temperatures. We recommend squeezing the tube gently when it has been exposed to higher temperatures. Our Product Development Manager also recommends keeping a small ice pack in your beach bag to keep your sunscreen and lip balms cool. Hope that helps and please let us know if you have any other questions! Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Is this lip balm non-comedogenic and oil-free?
Asked by Lyn
Official Answer By Jack Black
Hi there, Thanks for asking! Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25 does contain Cocoa Seed Butter and therefore cannot be considered non-comedogenic. It also contains lanolin oil and avocado oil, and cannot be considered oil-free. However, the skin on your lips is quite structurally different from the rest of your skin. The lips are much thinner and not a lipid layer (fatty layer), meaning the skin on the lips is more susceptible to dryness. Also, the lips do not produce sebum (your skin’s natural oil) or sweat, thus heavier butters and oils are optimal for the skincare needs of lips. The Intense Therapy Lip Balm was specifically formulated to address lip care concerns; helping to relieve dry, chapped, irritated lips. The petrolatum, butters, waxes, and oils in the product provide a barrier between your skin and the elements to prevent moisture loss and protect the lips from daily environmental damage. Hope that helps, and please let us know if you have any other questions! Was this answer helpful to you

Q
Should I be concerned about ingesting the chemical sunscreen ingredients in this when I eat/drink/lick my lips? Is there any risk?
Asked by JL
Official Answer By Jack Black
Hi there, According to the American Academy of Dermatology, lips are very sensitive to the sun's UV rays. The lips have a thin layer of skin and very little melanin, which is the pigment that helps protect against the sun. The lips are one of the most vulnerable parts of the body because they are always exposed to the sun when a person is out and about. Experts recommend applying a protective balm to the lips at least 30 minutes before going out, and reapplying it throughout the day, particularly after eating or drinking. The amount of lip balm consumed during daily exposure, i. e. eating, drinking, licking, is not toxic and poses no risk. Should you have any further concerns, please consult your physician. Hope that helps and please let us know if you have any other questions! Was this answer helpful to you

Disgusting to both smell and accidentally taste

This had so many 5 star reviews I needed to try it. It is super thick so will only work as an occlusive moisturizer like a mask; if you need something to seep in for severely chapped lips I suggest something with a far thinner consistency. It only comes with SPF, which I didn't want because of the...

My HOLY GRAIL.

By gen :)

From Madison, WI

This is my true holy grail that I will never ever stop purchasing. I found this product maybe 2 or so years ago and have been using it ever since. I used to struggle to find a product that would heal my lips as they tend to get very chapped and peel and nothing worked, only temporary. But not this lip balm. It was a life changer! After a week of use, my lips became plump, moisturized and brought out my natural pink/rose color of my lips and the mint smell is TOP TIER. Their best scent. Also, in my opinion, it's worth the price because one lip balm lasts me about 3-4 months WITH me using it every single day about 10 times a day (truly my fav so that might sound a bit absurd lol) so if you're looking for a lip balm, this one is the way to go!

This lip balm is moisturizing without being too greasy or sticky. The pineapple mint is very realistic and not artificial and sugary. Looking forward to trying other varieties!
