The Ordinary recommends performing a patch test prior to incorporating a new product into your skin care routine.
Apply a small amount to face in the PM as part of your skincare regimen, after water serums but before heavier treatments. Do not use with other retinoid treatments. Use sun protection in the AM.
Contraindications:Do not use in the same routine as other retinoids, direct acids, pure or ethylated vitamin C, or "Buffet" + Copper Peptides 1%.

Finally a budget friendly and cruelty free option
Searched for awhile for a budget friendly, cruelty free retinol that worked for me. My skin purged for a couple weeks but now it glows. Fading my sun spots and acne scars. Helping with my cystic acne as well. Please never stop making this!

I have been using this serum for 2 years now and i never want to go without it! As someone with sensitive and acne prone skin, this emulsion provides me some of the benefits of a retinol in a form that does not irritate my skin. I am 32 and have seen a reduction in fine lines and my skin is brighter. You cant beat the price either! An added bonus is that it absorbs quickly and doesnt just sit like an oil on top of the skin like some retinols i have tried. I am a huge fan of this product.
