A Pretty Foundation for Specific Skin Types.

First and foremost, this is NOT the foundation for oily skin types. I think this is the first thing you'll find out about this foundation if you read anything about it. It IS balmy. As the name indicates. Therefore, I would recommend this foundation for people with dry, or combination skin, only. An...d even so, there are other factors to keep in mind if you decide to try out this product. For example, I have combination skin, but I also live in an extremely humid climate. Almost all year round, but specifically right now, during summer, this is a challenging foundation to use. It doesn't last long. At most, I would say this foundation lasted on me an average of 4 hours. Keeping in mind that I always set it with powder and used a setting spray. So, if you're looking for a long wearing product, I think this is not the one for you. Perhaps in drier climates, and drier skin types, it might last longer. But I can only speak to my own circumstances. As for covarage, this is actually a versatile product. I personally don't like a full coverage look. I much prefer a natural finish. And I think this foundation can actually give you both looks. It can be sheer and give you a light, natural finish. But it can also be built-up to full coverage. A little product actually goes a long way. So, my preferred method of application is with a damp sponge. It's the best and easiest way to apply this foundation without going overboard. It'll give you the lightest coverage you can get. As for the fininsh. You would think that this being a "balm" you would get a more dewy finish. However, I would say it is actually much more of a natural finish, not really so dewy. I personally prefer it that way. Another thing to keep in mind is the shade. I received the 027 Medium shade with neutral undertones, and I thought it was going to be too dark for me. Nonetheless, because of my preferred level of coverage, the foundation thined out and the color ended up matching me just fine. So, for those who want a heavier coverage, matching your shade is going to be more important. I had more wiggle room. In conclusion. I think this foundation is a good product. But only if you meet certain requirements. It evens out your skin tone and gives you a very nice natural finish look. With ample room for you to play with the level of coverage. But it WILL melt off your face rather quickly. This is NOT a long wearing product. On the other hand, it tends to wear off in a nice way. What I mean by that is that it doesn't start cracking and looking super dry. As I said, it's more as if it melts off. Nonetheless, if you have oily skin, this is not going to be the foundation for you. And even for people like myself, with combination skin, it might be a tricky product to use. So, although this is not the most expensive foundation out there. It isn't exactly cheap either. And I recommend you really keep in mind your personal skin needs, and even your climate before deciding to give this one a go. Whether this is a good foundation or not, will depend on those personal factors, and also, on what you're looking for in a foundation. If you need a foolproof, long wearing foundation, this won't be for you either. But it does look pretty, and so I can't say it's a terrible product either.
