I have psoriasis on my scalp, ears, and face. This just became an issue for me in 2018/2019 after having no hair or scalp problems my entire life. I've tried hundreds of different brands trying to find something that wouldn't make me itch and irritate the psoriasis. I mean a lot of products were so ...bad it would feel like I had lice or a severe case of dandruff because my scalp was so itchy. I guess the fragrances and different ingredients made my psoriasis flare up. I immediately saw a difference when I started using this the ghost shampoo and conditioner. Finding this brand brought me to tears because I honestly thought I was going to have to suffer every time I had a flare up for the rest of my life. I will never have to be uncomfortable again and that's not an exaggeration. I've been using the Ghost shampoo and conditioner since June. I'll never go back to anything else. It has a light, beautiful scent that I can only describe as luxury clean. It isn't overpowering and you'll barely smell it after your hair is dry BUT the scent will last for several days until your next wash. You may get small whiffs of it throughout the day but you really won't be able to smell it unless you're actually putting your hair to your nose. I personally love the fragrance because sometimes I feel like my hair smells like wet dog in the shower if I haven't washed it in a few days and most scents just mask it. This scent is like the febreze of hair scents. It eliminates the other odors and gives it a nice clean smell. Now for my actual review of how well the product works: First off, I will say that I don't have fine hair which is the target audience of this shampoo. My hair is basically "normal" (not fine/not thick) and it's wavy and curly in some places. My biggest issue besides the scalp psoriasis was frizz, crazy curls, and my hair being weighed down and limp. I wouldn't say Verb Ghost is a quick miracle worker, as in you'll only see a slight improvement at first. It doesn't have a bunch of ingredients to add shine or volume or all kinds of other stuff. That's kinda the point! What you will notice right away is softer and shinier hair with less frizz. After a few weeks though, you will notice your hair really does become weightless. It's like it melts away all the other products you've put in your hair! It will obviously be more weighed down if you use other hair products afterwards like leave ins but if you just let your hair air dry it will be so fluffy and weightless. I haven't tried the other verb products yet (just received some heat protector/styling cream) to see if that would work to keep my hair from being weighed down when heat styling. I'll leave a review after I've tried it. You'll also notice that your hair feels way more moisturized. After a few months, you will see the biggest difference. You will notice that your hair stays volumized because it's not being weighed down. You'll be able to go several days in between washes with very little oil or funky smells. There will be virtually no product build up once you've used this for a while, but it's also not stripping. It did take a while to get rid of all the previous build up I had, but now it feels almost as if it makes products easier to wash out. If you have wavy/curly hair, it will be more defined. I usually blow dry mine straight but now it just gets these voluminous waves in the perfect spots that make it look like I've had a blowout. This didn't use to happen. You will have less breakage and less hair falling out (I've seen some reviews say they had hair loss/breakage but I wonder if it's for other reasons or maybe this doesn't work as well for some types of hair or maybe it's not being used properly… idk). I'm not sure if this is a coincidence but I've had to have my hair cut every two months because it's growing so fast! My stylist is mystified by my hair growth lol. I've always had fast growing hair, but not like this and it usually all breaks off a lot even when it does grow…. Anyways, your hair will also feel consistently fuller after a few months and it will be much more manageable and easy to style. My hair personally air dries beautifully now too but I know that's probably more relevant for people with waves or curls. The biggest benefit you'll see after a few washes and you'll see it more dramatically after a few months, is your scalp health. I've had a few psoriasis flare ups since I've been using this, but I've had hardly any flakes and virtually no itching. I'd venture to say this result would be the same for anyone with sensitive skin or scalp acne. I'm not sure how it would work for dandruff but I'd be willing to bet that it would be less drying than other brands. Occasionally, I will wash with olaplex or living proof or function of beauty just because I have some laying around and I've heard that your hair gets used to what you're using after a while so I try to switch it up. Well I always regret it after a couple of hours because my scalp becomes immediately itchy and it just feels heavier and I end up having to wash again the next day with my Verb Ghost. That is the proof that this stuff is amazing. For reference, I wash my hair twice with Ghost shampoo and then I use the Ghost conditioner. Some days I let the conditioner sit for a while and some days I'm in a rush so I wash it out after 1-2 minutes. I used to wash every other day but now sometimes I only wash once or twice a week depending on the weather and how much I've sweat. It rarely gets oily but I can't use dry shampoo due to the psoriasis so occasionally I'll wash more often if I feel like my hair has a lot of build up. I do think you need to use the shampoo and conditioner together to get the best results.
