Surprisingly unique

I received this Flora Gorgeous Orchid Intense perfume in exchange for my honest review. When I first smelled this perfume, I wasn't very impressed. On first impression, I just got white florals. Which was nice, but nothing groundbreaking to me. Once I had a chance to wear this for a period of time,... I was able to pick up on more of the layers to this scent. This opens with what I imagine is a white floral bouquet. To me, they smell fresh, yet slightly creamy. I'm guessing this is the orchid note. After a few minutes, I can start detecting the vanilla and the salt/ozonic accord. I'm not typically drawn to salty notes in perfume, but it seems to be well blended enough to just give an airy/sheer layer so far. The dry down after a few hours isolates the vanilla a bit more along with the dark cocoa. I believe the dark cocoa keeps it from being a sugary sweet scent, and instead just adds more depth and gives it a touch of sophistication. I am really enjoying how this note keeps the scent grounded. Despite having "intense" in the name, the freshness coming from the salty ozonic note prevents it from becoming overwhelming. Not over powering at all. I can generously spray without worrying that it's too much. For me, the uniqueness is in the fact that this smells like it could have been overpowering and beast mode. However, they found a way to make a bold(ish) fragrance have a sheer airy quality to it. What I mean is that while light enough to wear even in the daytime, it's also interesting enough to wear as a date night scent. While I would wear this in the fall and winter, I would still wear this in the spring and even summertime (and I have! Just maybe not in a heat wave). The packaging is gorgeous. The perfect amber color that reflects the depth of this scent, but in a translucent finish that also matches the fluffy sheerness of the scent. Overall, this is an "intense" version in the Gucci Flora Gorgeous line that can be worn year round, even in the summer, but would probably wear it on a summer night more than daytime, if too hot. Very unique, not juvenile at all, and definitely has a place in my own collection.
