Maybelline Fit Me Natural Finish Concealer

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] This concealer is a classic from Maybelline. I appreciate a doe foot applicator, allowing for precision when applying. This particular shade match wasn't exactly suited to me but I could tell the product was blendable and had good coverage payoff. I'll have to look for a closer shade match in store!

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] OVERALL THOUGHTS - This is a great concealer. They actually have a shade light enough for me, even thought it might be too light, which is pretty rare for me! It's a nice cool tone without being overly saturated (too pink). The formula is nice. I can get light to medium-full coverage. It's easy to blend and just melts into the skin. It doesn't look dry or cakey even on my dry under eyes. Coverage lasts throughout the day. I really like it! PACKAGING - This comes in a plastic tube. It has a doe foot applicator that is pretty small. It has a nice slight angle to it. I like it's small and thin. Some doefoot applicators on concealers are so big and thick that they end up with way too much product on them. This allows me to be more precise and not apply too much at once. I really like that. SHADE SELECTION & MATCH - I got the shade "001 Cool Ivory" (shown as "01" or "Cool Ivory" on their website, but tube says "001"). I'm very fair, very cool toned, and muted. It's pretty hard to find a shade match for me, especially at the drugstore, either they aren't light enough, aren't cool enough, and/or are too saturated in the undertone (way too pink for my muted skin). Unlike most brands, the lightest option for this concealer was labeled as cool toned (usually the cool toned option is 2nd or 3rd up for some reason), so I was happy about that. In the swatches it looked pretty darn light. Being really fair, it's rare to have a complexion product that's too light for me, but it has happened (just not usually at the drugstore). I like my concealer to match me as close as possible. If it's too light, it looks really dry and even kind of grey when the darkness peeks through. Really, I'd rather a concealer shade be too dark than too light. Then it won't look dry and grey. But, I decided to go with the lightest option since drugstore complexion products rarely go light enough for me, and usually, even if their swatch photos look like it's going to be light enough for me, it rarely actually is. Surprisingly, 001 Cool Ivory ended up being accurately shown in product photos - it looks just as light as the product photos show. It's cool toned like it claimed. It has a slight pink undertone to it, though it isn't extremely saturated where it looks straight up pink. In the product photos, in the initial photo of the swipe of concealer, it looks more like a peach tone or even yellow. But, in the swipe shown with all the other shade options, it looks more like it does in person, with a subtle pink tone to it. I tried to capture the pink tone to it in my photos, but no matter how hard I tried, it didn't seem to capture it. That's how subtle it is! So I was happy about that. Though, I was worried it would be TOO light for me, which, again, isn't usually something I run into with drugstore brands! It actually worked well for me. I show swatches comparing the shade to multiple other drugstore concealers so, hopefully, if you have 1 or more of them, it'll give you a good comparison to judge the shade of this by. FORMULA & APPLICATION - This is a really nice formula. It's very thin. I thought it wouldn't give good coverage being so thin. But it actually covered well. It isn't full coverage when you do 1 layer. It gives light coverage with a thin layer applied. But it does build up. I get medium coverage with 2 thin layers. If I let the layer sit for a minute or so before blending it out (which I like to do to get more coverage from my concealers), then I get medium to full coverage with 2 thin layers. Like I said before, I was worried the shade might actually be too light for me and would end up looking dry, cakey, and grey. But, the shade worked well. It didn't feel or look dry on my under eyes (and I have dry under eyes that a lot of concealers look horrible in, even if I prep my eyes well. But this blended out easily, applied nice and smooth. It just melts into the skin. It works well with a sponge, brush, and puff. The coverage lasts throughout the day and doesn't start looking dry or patchy.

Honestly, it's a good product, but I've come to the realization that I really don't like the applicator. It's so small and I feel like I'm jabbing myself. This is a little too late is almost a white color and I am wearing a tan beige, but I've been looking for a fair fair tan so that was a little bit not as well as I hoped but all around it's a great product
