Most Helpful Positive Review Life Changing In the past I would just accept defeat when a pimple popped up and once it went away, I'd resign myself to covering up the horrible dark spot with heavy makeup. All of that changed when I went into Ulta for an unrelated purchase with a gigantic & horribly ugly pimple that could only kind of be concealed. After hazarding into the skincare area and talking to a wonderful employee, this was recommended to me along with a peel. I wasn't too pleased about the price, but i knew the pimple would leave a really nasty dark scar so i took a risk and bought both products.
Now, I've tried loads of drugstore face washes and a few of the more popular tv brands. some would help a tiny bit, but most made my skin far worse & nothing ever fixed the dark spot. After using the combo daily for a few days, the pimple had dried out and the dark spot was barely visible! After 2 weeks, my skin was noticeably less oily, way smoother, and the dark spot that should have taken months to fade was almost gone!
It has been 9 months since i started using this product and while i've had the occasional small hormone related white head, I haven't had a single large pimple. All of the dark scars that I once spent so much time covering are gone as well. So while i dislike the higher cost for this product, it has forever changed my skin for the better. If you have oily skin & battle pimples or dark spots, this will change your life!
Most Helpful Critical Review Not sure I left 3 stars for this product because it's only been a week since I started using it and I can't tell if my skin is breaking out because I'm going through a purge or if it's the ingredients that's breaking me out. What I will say is that this cleanser thoroughly cleanses your skin. I have very sensitive skin + hormonal acne and it's been pretty difficult trying to find facial products because I am currently pregnant. I tried Ceramic Slip by Sunday Riley first and loved it in combination with the Tidal moisturizer, but had to stop using the moisturizer after a week because of the ingredients. Ceramic Slip made me feel like although it was helping clear my acne, it was clogging my pores. I feel like this cleanser is helping declog my pores, which may be the cause of my breakouts. I'm going to give this product a few more weeks and see if my acne and skin texture improves and give an updated review.

To me this cleanser was like a normal cleanser it didn't feel exfoliating at all. I didn't have any type of reaction and it didn't break me out but I didn't see anything special with it. I bought it when it was on sale but I still feel like I paid too much for it. It wasn't worth the money
Loved the sample so much I had to buy 5

I got this as a sample and brought it as a small bottle on vacation. I fell in love, good smell and great for daily use. When the bottle ran out my face broke out. Bought the full sized bottle and it's gone again. My new favorite!
Deep deep clean; heavily fragranced 4
Stephen from Hot Springs, AR
I actually really enjoy this cleanser. It is very heavily fragranced which I normally don't love- but remember fragrance in a rinse off product isn't as big of a deal as a leave on product. I actually must admit I find fragrance in cleansers a nice occasional treat. The scent is very herbal and citrusy and is quite intense.
This is a VERY deeply cleansing and high high foam cleanser. A little bit of this stuff goes a long way. A tiny pea size amount generates a ton of foam and is enough for the entire face. This product doesn't sting or burn my face at all. I find some PHA/glycolic acid cleansers can make my face a little red afterwards; this one doesn't do that at all. This one is gentle enough for nightly use- unless of course your'e using other exfoliants or plan to use other exfoliants in the following routine. Also wouldn't use if your'e dealing with Tret or retinoid irritation obviously.
Overall I like this product but don't usually recommend spending big bucks on cleansers. ALWAYS put your money toward treatments and serums. The cleansing step is where you should absolutely save your money. If you'd like an affordable glycolic acid cleanser get the Loreal Revitalift Derm Intensives 3.5% glycolic acid cleanser. It's phenomal!
NOT good at all 1
Lucinda from Florida
Why does this advertise as an "exfoliating" cleanser? There's nothing exfoliating about it at all. It's literally just a regular cream cleanser. No grit whatsoever to exfoliate. It doesn't smell good either and my face felt dry and tacky after I used it.
Favorite Cleanser 5

Out of the many cleansers I have tried, this is probably my favorite one. It does a really good job of making my skin feel clean, not stripped. After I use it, it doesn't feel like there is any residue left on my skin and my skin definitely looks a little glowier. I have mild rosacea and this doesn't seem to irritate my skin, which was surprising considering that it is an exfoliating cleanser. It's a bonus that the packaging is cute and the cleanser smells good (pleasant, but not overly sweet or purfume-y).
The only con I can think of with this product is that it doesn't remove makeup very well. However, I don't really want to put an exfoliating cleanser right next to my eyeballs anyway.
I never write reviews but AMAZING 5
Shai from Georgia
This product is the only product that IMMEDIATELY helped minimize the texture I get on my forehead and chin. I have very dry, clear skin but I get this pesky white heads or clogged pores specifically on my forehead. This face wash works AMAZING and it doesn't dry out my skin. I find that I don't have to use it everyday once a day is fine for me. Any other time I wash my face I used my cheaper hydrating cleanser so I'm sure this will last me awhile. but WORTH EVERY PENNY
This does what it claims to 5

Do yourself a favor and just get it. Second time purchased. Boyfriend loves it too!
Good stuff! 5

I love the scent, the consistency/texture, and the way it foams. I hope it goes on sale again before I get to the end of the tube cause I plan on buying more.
Ignore the bad reviews 5

I don't know how anyone could give this product anything less than a 4 star. ahem, anways....the scent is so fresh. I love how it applies a lil thicker because it allows you to actually scrub bit to exfoliate. It is a gentle exfoliater, safe to use almost daily. I buy this religiously when on sale. I stock up. A bottle lasts me atleast 2 months as I use other cleansers as well. They offer a more intensive exfoliater as well, yet I haven't tried it because I have very sensitive skin and I use peels as well. My acne is controlled with this cleanser, it removes my daily light face of make-up. If I need a deeper clean I use another product, and follow up with a whipped cleanser to add moisture. My skin is very, dare I say petty-picky and there's a method to my madness. I'm sure most people use as trial and error until they find their own perfect routine. This product needs atleast a 4 star overall rating, but it's totally a 5 star product for me! Try it with expectations that it smells a lovely citrus scent with thicker consistency with gentle exfoliation properties!
Holy Grail Cleanser 5
Rach from WA
Nabbed this as a beauty steal, but will absolutely repurchase at full price. Note: this is not a physical exfoliant (not gritty), and is SUBTLY foamy. Incredibly effective yet gentle cleanser. After a couple months of use, it cleared up an acne scar that I had for two years (I had resigned to having it forever). If you've got makeup on, you'll want to double cleanse using this second, and something makeup removing first. This will add moisture back into your skin while stripping away everything you don't want from your pores.
Mediocre 2
JB from IL
This cleanser isn't exfoliating, and it does not foam like other foaming cleansers. It also left a residue that didn't make my feel skin cleansed.
It's ok.. 3
Moni from California
I hate the smell, but it does cleanse properly just like any $10 cleanser 🤫
In love with this cleanser 5
Emi__rose from Los ángeles
I have oily skin with big pores. I always either have to use a harsh cleanser to wipe away impurities or I used a cleanser that leaves me shiny. I have never used a cleanser that leaves my skin dewy and just glowing. There was always a trade off, either I use something harsh that leaves my skin dry and shiny or my face used to feel greasy and shiny. I just complicated skin but for the first time ever my skin looks amazing and I understand what people mean by dewy. I love it so much and my face has drastically changed since using it.
On the fence... 3
FL Lolly from Florida
I had always wanted to try this cleanser and the 21 days of beauty promo price presented an offer too good to refuse. I've used it for about a week or so now and it's ok. Not sure the product is worth the full price ask though. I have to wear a heavy duty mineral sunscreen everyday and this cleanser seems to wash it off relatively thoroughly so I def give it props for that!
It's okay. Glad I paid the sale price! 3
Missy from Montana
Good basic cleanser. Really not that special.
I thought this would be more exfoliating. 3
Chelsea from Houston, Tx
I bought this in efforts to replace my current exfoliant, however it is not as gritty...which some would like so if you want a subtle exfoliant then this is perfect for you!
Take it or Leave it... 3
KAE from Maryland
This product is non-abrasive enough for everyday use but doesn't leave you with that soft rejuvenated feeling that you might expect after exfoliating.
Love 5

Love Kate Somerville products, not too drying. Works well for my normals skin. Just don't over do it

Love it. Will definitely be a repeat purchase.
I returned item 2
ML from Stuart, FL
I had high hopes based on prior reviews. I used it twice and my skin broke out. It's also very expensive for a small amount. Glad I tried it out during 21 days of beauty.
Very nice, would buy again 5
Brit from Florida
I noticed a difference in my skin just 2 days after using it. My skin was noticeably brighter and I wasn't getting any breakouts. My skin also felt so nice and smooth. I really recommend this cleanser if you decide to splurge. I don't usually spend much money on face wash but I bought this during the 21 days of beauty and I would buy it again when I have more reward points.
I hate the play on word 4
Eli from Florida
This is not an exfoliating cleanser. It's just a cleanser. And for a cleanser, it does a fine job. But I would not pay full price for it
Cleansing is good, but that smell 4
Shania from Florida
This has a super strong scent to it, like a lime kind of smell. it doesn't smell super strong when you just open the cap to smell it, but when i went to wash my face that smell really hit me hard. I could be exaggerating just bc i usually don't use stuff with that heavy of a smell (personal preference) but besides the smell, it does cleanse very well without leaving my skin feeling striped. i would give it 5 starts but that smell is really potent
I alternate between this and Eradikate 5
gratitude902 from Chicago, IL
I use Eradikate daily and I use this when I take a shower. I find that the two have been essential to skin moisture and blemish free preservation. I first heard of this product through a skin regimen by one of the most well preserved celebrities I've ever seen. She always looks like a magical fairy that just walked out of dewy wood refreshed and well rested.
Adverse reaction? 3
Linz17 from Richland, Wa
I saw all the great reviews and was very excited to try. Maskne is real and has been horrible for me. After a couple days use, man, it sure did dry out my face like you wouldn't believe, but the acne was disappearing! So I was very excited. Day 3 and 4 I started to notice little bumps everywhere which then started itching! Unfortunately my skin appears to be too sensitive for this product. I went to the dr and he said I was having an adverse reaction not an allergic reaction. He said nothing but time will heal my face but wanted me to buy Cerave moisturizer and hope I didn't further agitate my face. Bums me out. Just thought I'd share my experience.
