Hair Type Wavy Hair
I've been on the hunt for a shampoo/conditioner that could tame my natural tumbleweed that sprouts from my noggin since I was 14 and this is the closest I've come to success so far. After 6 weeks of usage I've seen (and felt) a dramatic difference in frizz, shine and strength. I saw a change after just the first usage and it keeps improving. I don't pull a handful of hair from my shower drain anymore, I don't have tons of knots after just a few hours of being awake and I don't have Godzilla hairballs clogging my vacuum anymore. All super pluses! Only issue I have with this shampoo is it's excessively watery! It's not worth it's price tag (funny note: the conditioner is the opposite). I can also see why some people have issue with it not cleaning styling products out (it's too gentle) and for the people's hair it fried, could be that this shampoo still has sulfates in it. So if you've got apocalyptic hair and hedge fund money this shampoo is for you, as for the rest of us on budgets it's not worth it until they reduce the amount of water they're adding to it.
My go-to protein shampoo
This is my go-to shampoo and curl line!! I have thick, high porosity 2c hair and usually need a more protein-heavy curl routine. I wash my hair once a week, so this is great if you're on a similar wash routine. Because I'm starting my week with product and adding product throughout the week to refresh, I usually have to wash, rinse, and repeat (and repeat) to make sure my hair gets totally clean. My hair stays clean and fresh looking all week! More frequent washers or protein sensitive curlies might want to stay away as I could see this drying out curls or scalps.
I would not buy this again
Verified Buyer
The product is so runny, my curls are high porosity so I need something more hydrating and this takes a lot of product to foam up
Got rid of my curls

Really wanted to like this, but my after using this combined with the conditioner, my hair did not feel clean at all. My hair lost all volume as well as any curls/waves that I typically have.
Started off ok but quickly went downhill
As others have commented, this shampoo is very drying. I noticed my hair felt dry (not stripped; but dry) after the very first wash. But, I have to be honest, my curls looked amazing! So much so that I went out the next week and bought the matching conditioner. But over time my hair just got drier and drier and eventually felt like straw after each wash. After about 4 weeks my hair was extremely dry all the time and had significantly more frizz. By 6 weeks I was noticing much more shedding and my curls were stringy and limp. . I tried everything to fix it. Different stylers. More frequent clarifying etc.. but my curls were falling flat and the frizz was out of control. I finally had to admit it was the shampoo. I stopped using this about 2 weeks ago and switched to the Shine shampoo and conditioner by Curlsmith. I saw an immediate improvement. Curls came back; frizz is better. It will take time to undo the damage from this shampoo but I'm so glad I stopped using it. If you hair truly, truly needs protein (like a lot of protein) then this could work great for you. But it was definitely damaging to my hair.
