why don't you make this shampoo sulfate free (not sodium c14-16 olefin sulfonate - it's too rough on hair), and take out the dimethicone/silicone (because it really flattens hair), and make it a little thicker, especially the larger bottles (because it's too runny)? leave the other ingredients the way they are, and you would have the best shampoo for color treated hair out there!
- Asked by Cricket
- Official Answer By Paul MitchellThank you for your feedback. You may enjoy Clean Beauty Everyday Shampoo. It is sulfate free and great for a color safe, everyday cleanser. Why would you put Sulfates in a Color Protect shampoo?
- Asked by terri
- Official Answer By Paul MitchellWhen a product claims to be “sulfate-free,” it's typically free of one of three commonly used compounds in shampoo: Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, or Ammonium Laureth Sulfate. In the industry, these compounds are known by the acronyms SLES, SLS, and ALS.Was this answer helpful to you

What does the shampoo smell like?
- Asked by Kenia
- Verified Reply - Brand ExpertA young-at-heart and refreshingly energetic fruity floral with opening notes of apple blossoms, bright citrus notes with crisp leafy greens and bergamot leading the way into a heart combining golden lilies, gardenia, violet leaves and soft wild flowers. Best I've ever used
I've been professionally coloring for 30 years. This is by far the best shampoo I've found for color treated hair. And I've tried shampoos at TWICE the price. It cleans thoroughly yet gently and give nice body. Some color shampoos are so weak they leave an itchy film. Not so Paul Mitchell. Love it

Removes haircolor and greasy feel
I was recommended this product after they used it at super cuts. I got my hair colored and bought it since it says it helps color treated hair last longer. Within a week it began stripping the hair color each time I would used it. Then it left my hair greasy. People we're asking when I last washed m...

Not for me
I have very long colored blonde hair, i have used some paul Mitchel in the past, specifically the clean version. My hair seemed fine, but i was also in hawaii and left my hair naturally wavy. This left my hair so dry and frizzy, i used the conditioner and gloss serum, my hair felt awful. I returned it immediately. I will stick to pureology.
Good overall

My previous hair dresser recommended this and I really do like it. Smell is nice and a clean scent, not too overwhelming. It seems good quality but like all salon shampoo, it is on the more expensive side. Packaging is typical, just hard to get the last bit out sometimes because you can't store the bottle upside down. It did well on my colored hair and I haven't noticed any bad fading like drug store brands!

Scent is a little weird but works well! I'd say my color lasts a little longer than usual which is definitely nice! I expect more for the price though.

Great smelling scent and the package was simple and cute. Very effective at reviving my color treated hair. I really enjoyed the texture of the shampoo as well and the way it foamed up.
