100% Impressed with this bad boy! I've been an everyday flat iron user for 10+ years and it was time to replace my old GHD with something current. I was also about to do a Keratin straightening at home and wanted a good flat iron with high temps. I went into the store and after talking with the sales gal (who couldn't really give me any good reason to buy the more pricey models, like this Croc, over a cheaper one from Hot Tools), I decided to buy them both and do a side by side comparison at home between the two (the Croc was more than double the price). She assured me I could return the one I didn't want as long as it was completely repackaged as if new. I did one side of my head with the Hot Tools, one side with the Croc and there really was NO comparison. I started with the Croc on the right half and was completely wowed with the quickness of the results. One easy swipe and my thick wavy hair was stick straight. Boom! It also has shine and a "swing" to it which my hair NEVER has. My hair doesn't swing or move or demonstrate any of those bouncy hair commercial qualities! Today it did and this was NOT while doing a keratin treatment. This was just after my normal shampoo and blow dry. Not only was I amazed by the Croc results, I loved the weight and ergonomic design of this device. It also clamped down on the hair at just the right tension. I then did the left side with the Hot Tools on the same temperature setting. Not even close. It took multiple passes on each section and it wasn't nearly as straight, shiny or silky. The Hot Tools model felt like good quality, it heated up fast and glided through my hair just fine. But the results side by side were obvious. The Croc won hands down and the Hot Tools iron went back to the store the next day. This is the first time I've done a side by side comparison. So glad I did because I may have gone with the Hot Tools iron just on it's own given the super reasonable price point. I was happy to pony up for the Croc!
defective THIS IS AN AMAZING IRON, EXCEPT IT BREAKS SO EASY. BUMP IT OR DROP IT ON THE BATHROOM FLOOR( FALLING FROM COUNTER) ITS DONE. WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH NO LESS THAN 8 OF THEM. AFTER THIS ONE IM DONE FOR GOOD. I LOVE THIS IRON, HANDS DOWN IT SURPASSES THE CHI. THE WAY IT MAKES YOUR HAIR IS A 10. TO BAD IT WONT STAND UP TO NORMAL USE. I HAVE TO SAY MY CHI IS AWSOME FOR THAT. BUT DOESNT GIVE THE RESULTS THE CROC DOES. HOPE CROC FIGURES OUT HOW TO BUILD THEIR IRON LIKE A CHI. THEN I WILL BE A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE....AND RECOMEND THEM AS WELL

During 50% off beauty sale in Oct. 2022 purchased Croc Rose Gold 1.5 flat iron because i had tried a friends and really liked it. I see that ULTA is no longer selling that one. I registered the warranty online. I used it maybe twice a week with heat protectant. In April 2023, 6 months later, i plugged it in, i smelled a very slight hot smell but didn't think anything of it. I always used the second to coolest heat setting. I have medium past shoulder length slightly fine blonde bair. So i passed the Croc through a section of my hair. On one side then the other. I didnt smell my hair burning but it turned all crinkly and split ends exactly where i used the Croc, from scalp to ends, really bad. I hve used protein masks and olive oil and all the products i have and a week later its still burnt. I have never seen anythkng like this. To top it off, the next time I plugged in the Croc it was completely dead. No power. Still looks fine, stored in original box, just will not start. I tried to find my warranty on the company website and no luck! So sent email and an employee wrote me back and asked for me to make a video of the flat iron and sent him which is hard because the email wont accept video unless its about ten seconds. I sent a video plugging into two different outlets and trying to turn it on. I also made sure to send a video of the section of burnt hair. My hair is smooth with one chunk that looks like I just took out a very tight braid. I had used dry bar hot toddy for protection but it must have been searing hot. I am waiting to hear back from the rep at Croc but want to save others from the same problem. I think they make you pay shipping to return and get a new one.
Do not buy! 1

I've bought two in the past year and a half and they both just stopped working. Croc definitely needs to figure out the defects of the mechanics of this straightener. It's a shame because it does a good job for the short time it worked. Do not recommend.
Not the best 3

My hair is a 3A. If u have fine hair I would recommend this. If u have medium to course hair I definitely would not recommend. I always put. It on the highest setting which is 450. It definitely does not get that hot. It does heat up pretty quickly tho. I always have to go over the same piece of hair multiple times. Like I said not the best for my hair.
NOT WORTH IT 1

Fell in love with this straightener because of my hair stylist. I bought it in September and it has already stopped working. No damage. Never dropped. Chord was perfectly fine. It just stopped working out of no where.
I read all the comments about it not lasting longer than a year but I caved in and got it anyway.
It's only been about 5 months and I had to return to ULTA. Thankfully ULTA was able to issue me store credit but I emailed the Croc company regarding their warranty.
I had to fill out warranty forms and submit the item to the company so they can check the straightener to determine the issue. Most reviews on their website say that CROC will NEVER take responsibility. Figured I would not waste my time waiting for them to deny my warranty request.
I told the representative from CROC I was So disappointed but thankful for ULTA being able to issue my return.
Best straightener ever! 5
