Is there a lock button/switch? For space saving I'd like to be able to lock the plates together; there should be enough space so that the plates are not touching.

Official Answer By Croc USA

Q
The original croc classic had the infrared lights. Does this one contain them also since it's the same price as the old one?
Asked by Brittnee
Official Answer By Croc USA
This Classic Black Titanium iron does not have our Infrared technology. We had a Classic Infrared iron in the past but unfortunately, it has been discontinued. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Is the Croc Classic Black Titanium 1.5" the same has the CROC Classic Nano-Titanium Flat Iron? Or are they 2 different flat irons? Which one would you recommend for African Hair? For bone straight hair.
Asked by Jocelyn
Official Answer By Croc USA
The Croc Classic Black Titanium iron has our 1.5" static-free non-frizz black titanium plates and our Rose Gold Nano Titanium flat iron has our 1.25" rose gold titanium plates for smooth and shiny hair. We would recommend our Classic Black titanium 1.5" flat iron because the temperature is more customizable giving salon quality hair at home. Was this answer helpful to you

100% Impressed with this bad boy!

I've been an everyday flat iron user for 10+ years and it was time to replace my old GHD with something current. I was also about to do a Keratin straightening at home and wanted a good flat iron with high temps. I went into the store and after talking with the sales gal (who couldn't really gi...

NOT WORTH IT

Fell in love with this straightener because of my hair stylist. I bought it in September and it has already stopped working. No damage. Never dropped. Chord was perfectly fine. It just stopped working out of no where. I read all the comments about it not lasting longer than a year but I caved in and got it anyway. It's only been about 5 months and I had to return to ULTA. Thankfully ULTA was able to issue me store credit but I emailed the Croc company regarding their warranty. I had to fill out warranty forms and submit the item to the company so they can check the straightener to determine the issue. Most reviews on their website say that CROC will NEVER take responsibility. Figured I would not waste my time waiting for them to deny my warranty request. I told the representative from CROC I was So disappointed but thankful for ULTA being able to issue my return.

I wouldn't recommend this straighter as I have have had 2 of these Croc hair straighteners now. Same design, same model. It's heavy duty and has a nice, thick long cord, consistent with professional hair straightens. I have used this straightener on myself everyday, so it is used quite frequently. However, both straighteners I had for approximately 1 year before the spring mechanism that holds the plates apart broke. I thought the first time was probably a fluke, so I purchased a second one. The spring mechanism broke again. Unfortunately, this fault makes it extremely easy to burn yourself. There is a 5 year warranty, but it doesn't cover a lot. Most things fall under a one year warranty, according to Croc's website. Most items they wont't fix but they will offer you a discounted rate to buy a new one from them. The website does say that they will repair the spring mechanism, but you have to pay shipping both ways. For me, that means shipping from Florida to California and I won't have a straightener for that time. Even, if I do send it in, I'll have to buy a new one to use in the interim. So, I'll be going with a different brand this time around. Disappointed in this straightener.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

I love this hair straightener! It doesn't pull your hair, it makes it so silky and smooth and it has adjustable temperature.
