How do I find my foundation shade?

Love this stuff!!
I have loved this CC foundation since it first came out. It's easy to apply, offers great coverage without being heavy, and I get compliments on my skin all the time. I recently tried a different version of the CC cream assuming they just changed the color of the "stripe" from pink to white. NOPE - it's a different CC version and though it was the same shade it looked yellow on my fair pink-toned skin. It also didn't blend well and looked like it was sitting on top of my skin ... like stage makeup. If your curious, just stop in Ulta to try it out. It's my holy grail.

I used urban decay tinted moisturizer for years but had to find a new brand when they discontinued my shade and I found this one, and I am so glad I did because it is better than what I was using before. it blends smoothly into my skin and doesn't show any creases and it feels like I am wearing nothing. the color matched me perfectly. it's light weight and easy to use. I have used this since it came out and medium used to be perfect. However, when the new shades launched, medium was lighter and or more yellow toned. I got the medium neutral, but I find it's still a little yellow for me. Would the light medium be a cooler tone? If so, how much lighter is it than medium neutral?
